I had a 7 night stay at this resort when I get there I realize my ac wasn’t working as it should and without the ceiling fan the room wouldn’t cold I report this issues they say they will get it fix nxt day I see it was leaking in the closet area I report it again on the third night I called the front desk n I told them I’m really hot here n it’s not working I didn’t want to move because I had a early trip to Anguilla n would be no til later in the night. I wanted a good night sleep so they offer an additional fan then I change my mind n tel her to move me she found 2 room my husband went and check them out I pack all our stuff n ready to move then I got a called saying no to take everything as they only moving me for the night I was upset n I say at this point I wanna sleep when I get bk I will deal with the moving again I asked y would we have to move again she say because the room was in a different part and was a bigger room I said ok. The following day my husband got a call on his wats app n they apologized for the inconvenience and say they will let us stay in the room they move us to ( upgraded stay) apart from tht the front desk staff n everyone was so warm n friendly i would definitely stay again on my nxt visit to st martin

Stay at Simpson Bay studio suite turned out to actually be in steep, uphill Royal resort bldg with no view of water, not close to beach and room itself faced parking lot. Room was clean, although the water faucets for some reason leaked, and the most annoying part of stay was that you needed to walk to a “towel booth” near the security booth to get clean towels, rather than having them available by pool. Parking was luckily available, and renting a car would be needed for this hotel, as well as for ease in getting around.

Wonderful Stay

We have stayed here many times over the years and really enjoy it. Great location, friendly staff (for the most part) and nice beach and pools. We find the Simpson Bay Resort a good value when visiting St Maarten.

Let’s talk about the check in process…. SLOW as molasses!! For such an advanced 2025, hand receipts should not be a thing at a major resort, checking desk. The rooms are spacious and clean with the exception of hair all over in the shower from previous guests. The maid didn’t do a good job. Also there’s lipstick stains and dirty finger prints on the curtains in the living room - I guess it’s from guests shifting the curtains but I suggest it should be removed and washed.

The hotel, the complex, all amenities and the staff were great. We had a pleasant 7 night stay, and enjoyed it to the fullest. Room was kept very clean, and the pools, beach and onsite restaurants were a joy. We made memories that will last a lifetime. Since we had a rental and were able to drive around the island I must say that maybe the roads within the property need some love but other than that, 100% recommend this hotel.
