Location was nice, property was a little older and the beds sucked

Pros: Staff was very friendly. The facilities were clean and the restaurants were good and reasonably priced. The resort was conveniently located. Cons: The bedspreads could have been cleaner and the beds could use bedskirts. I wish there were more activities for kids.

The resort is back ! The staff is excellant, very accessable and courteous. diverse scheduled events with our social director. housekeeping kept unit and public areas spotless. sports bar and new beach bar are great. we're so happy they are back and better than ever

Location, location! Lots of restaurants water sports and huge pool!

Location beautiful, loved the terrace space, lots of pools, great beach access. Struggled to get late check out, air conditioning was mediocre.

I really can't say that I enjoyed my stay at The Villas at Simpson Bay. Most of the problems that I had more to do with the room that I was given than the property itself, and I would believe that a different room would have made for a much better experience. My real disappointment is with how the hotel reacted to the issues that I had. Issue 1: No hot water at 6:30am two days in a row. It seems that they simply ran out since it came back later in the day. Issue 2: My room was located very near the drive up to the hotel and the noise of the cars and trucks struggling to get up the hill was not ideal. I'm pretty sure this is only a problem for some of the rooms though. Issue 3: The digital clock flashed 12:00am the entire time I was there and could not be manually set. More of an annoyance than anything, but when I asked if something could be done I was told by the front desk that housekeeping would have to deal with it. My real issue: I decided that I didn't want another cold shower in the morning so I checked out a day early after only two nights. The front desk didn't seem at all concerned when I said that I was checking out early because I really wasn't happy staying there. Even though they didn't ask, I did explain why I wasn't happy and the response I received was basically a nonchalant "Oh, that's a shame, would you like us to bill your credit card on file for the breakfast buffet or use another card?" I found that response disappointing.

The villas at simpson bay resort is a beautiful place to stay at, spacious room with fully equipped kitchen. However, we stayed at a two bedroom villas and it had one king bed, two doube beds and two twin beds, so the bed size was a issue for us. The king bed was perfect for my brother and his family but the double bed (small beds) was inconvenient for my husband and I, we slept in separate beds :(. It is located walking distance from many restaurants, deli, supermarket etc. The resorts has great beach chairs, umbrellas and pools. Most of the staffs were friendly and helpful except one woman at La Patrona Restaurant, she had an attitude but it had great food. We were able to check in early.

Clean, friendly staff, easy checkin, great dining options and great ocean view.

It is very nicely located at the beach and offers very much all within walking distance. The hotel went through some extensive renovations due to the hurricane what supports well the new appearance which is very good. The level of up-keeping was also noticed.

Nice view. Rooms were spacious. Car rental agency on site which was convenient.

Nice hotel after the hurricanes. Beach still has construction noise but plenty of sand to enjoy.

One of the few places not under construction or closed. Convenient location.

Villas of Simpson Bay was great. Very clean, pool was great and daily breakfast was wonderful.

I stayed in the 'Villas' in June 2018. This was my first time to Sint Maarten and this hotel and was there for my bachelor party. The room itself was great. Majority was as expected including functioning AC, large refrigerator, full utensils, cutlery, and cups in cabinets. Location is great with a nearby bar, casino, and beach. My disappointments is two things. Hot water in showers works intermittently. Also, the resort gym charges an expensive fee to use it.

We think that the resort is well located, well-maintained, and is generally a great place to stay.

Great location, close to beach, restaurants, casinos, shopping, grocery stores..would highly recommend. Plan on returning again next year.

Generally worth the cost, the staff were very helpful. The two regular sized bed instead of a queen or king was not comfortable for a couple. The room and environment was clean. Grocery and good restaurants very close.
