This location was perfect for our ski trip out to the mountains. Located in Silverthorne, which I have now come to dubbing as the ideal central location for all skiing with its nearby ski rental shops, affordable restaurants, and easy layout, this property was a great core point for our trips out to Breckenridge and Vail. It is located on top of a hill, about a ten-minute drive from the main Silverthorne town, so be wary when ice or snow hits the area.
In terms of the lodging's highlights, the apartment was incredibly clean. The laundromat was super helpful in washing our ski clothes. The kitchen had every item we needed to live comfortably. The fireplace and televisions were equipped and ready for use.
Now for the cons. This property is managed by Vacasa, so you will be receiving emails on how to get in, who to contact, and so forth. We received the incorrect keypad lock combo, and since the office hours are 9-5, we could not call for help until the next day. In addition, the hot tub key was the wrong key, so we had no access to the hot tub for our entire week's stay. The apartment is also incredibly cold and the thermostats did not appear to work, so we heavily used the fireplace to heat everything up. There is also no humidifier that we could find, so nosebleeds and general dry discomfort were the norms. Also, there is no water filter so be prepared to purchase water at the grocery store. Our method was to buy large bottles and refill them at water stations found at places such as the ski resorts or local mom&pop spots.
If you can get a good price and have a larger party, I would still suggest this property. Just keep in mind to call ahead for the lock combo during office hours - nothing sucks more than coming out of a two-hour drive from the airport and being unable to get in because of the late hour.
