Location
Pros: Simple clean room in the heart of historic downtown. Stumbling distance to the brewery/distillery. Comfortable bed. Continental breakfast Cons: Rooms are heated on boiler system. No temp control. Room was hot so slept with the window open (in March). Ran water for my shower for 10 minutes and it never got hot. Ended up taking a very quick shower with water about room temp. Also as previous reviews mentioned- only street parking. Ended up having to park 1.5 blocks away.
Great front desk help , cool town , very clean just the best stay ever !!!
Super clean. Quaint style of room, yet very functional.
The Murray hotel is an excellent place to stay. The staff are generous and accommodating. The hotel is spotless and comfortable. Not only is it a glamorous hotel of a bygone era but a functioning and comfortable one as well. The Murray can be a place to stay passing through or a 4 day destination like we did. Either way it’s remarkable.
Perfect location. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Will stay again.
The Murray is an interesting older hotel in the heart of downtown. It is within walking distance of lots of stores, restaurants, art galleries, coffee shops. Being older does offer certain charms.
The hotel was quaint. The rooms very clean, the bed comfortable. The air conditioning terrible, the room was stuffy and the conditioner ran so loudly I barely slept. Without the A/C it would have been impossible to sleep in. Maybe the hotel could upgrade to larger newer A/C units? Staff was very friendly and welcoming just had a bad night of sleep due to the A/C.
Pros: Great central location. Very good condition considering its age. Cons: Sink was in the main room , not the bathroom, and it was very slow to drain. Room had a large and a small radiator. Large didn't work.I knew to ask for a space heater (manager didn't volunteer it was available) and room kept toasty even though overnight low was around freezing. It's a really nice place but you need to be aware going in it's a step back in time.
Was very rasy to find and quiet the room was neat and clean
Very clean and comfortable. Quiet room. Location is awesome!
This is a great hotel. Everything was perfect. The mattress was very comfortable. Cliff and breakfast great too!
I liked the old, historical nature of the building and the fact that is located in the middle of town. Disliked the lack of parking.
convenient location and great service, close to shops and restaurants
As of September 2018 all rooms seem to be air-conditioned. So, no worries.
Had a very large king room at the end of the hall--- high ceilings , etc. they did a beautiful job of renovating this old art deco classic. Please note, historic hotel setting may not be for everyone--- bathrooms in 1938 were very, very small--- The walls are probably not as insulated as newer buildings ,and they dont'have big flat screen TVS--- So if you are the kind of person who likes modern buildings with all the modern conveniences, you may not like the Murray--- But if you are someone who loves history and vintage appointments and preservation (like I do) you will LOVE the fact that they restored this gem. Ask for a king room on the end-- as it really was larger than the rooms down the hallway that I saw when they were cleaning. (with single qUEEN)
