I have traveled globally and often frequent Santa Clara, CA for work. This is my new go-to hotel. When every hotel was booked within a 30 mile radius and I was traveling solo at night, they found a room for me when my other reservation fell through elsewhere. Not only that, but Angelica German worked throughout the next day to find a way to extend my rooms for the rest of my trip so I wouldn’t have to move hotels 3 times with other chains. Very good room, extremely clean, great customer People First attitude at this hotel. Thank you! I will be back!
I stayed here for 5 weeks July/Aug with no problems. I loved that it is a 3 minute walk to Caltrain and I took advantage of that and visited San Francisco several times. Very close to grocery stores on El Camino Real and Santa Clara college is directly across the street. The police station is right on the corner as well so I felt very safe. I was a little disappointed in the weekly house keeping and laundry facilities...laundry is free and the washers work well but the dryers are not very good and it took hours for my clothes to dry. They have a 2 grills and a social/common area out back that people utilized after work. This facility is for working professionals..many traveling health care providers and people working for Apple. I would stay here again.
Stayed over on a Saturday night to attend a function at SCU on Sunday. Overnight I came down with a stomach virus. They let me stay in the room until 4:00 pm on Sunday while my wife and daughter attended the event. Very grateful! Room was clean a spacious. Hotel was quiet. Our room backed up to the train tracks and airport, but could hardly hear either one. Front desk staff were very friendly upon check in. Would definitely stay here again.
I had an extended assignment for about 15 weeks. The room I had was a studio. It was clean, the bedding smelled fresh and there was a kitchenette too. The nearest grocery store was walkable, but you're better off driving. This place is right across Santa Clara University and literally around the corner from the CalTrans station. Despite some issues with the garbage disposal (which were addressed right away) this was a decent place to stay. The customer service was way beyond what I expected. After staying for some time, you get to know them by name and vice versa. All in all it was a pleasant experience!
This facility is very clean and quite and there are no parties are allowed! It is located next to Santa Clara University and the train station. The rooms are like a studio apartment with a kitchen, work area, bed, etc. I would definitely stay here again!
I cannot say enough about the excellent staff and accommodations at Candlewood. My husband and I booked a block of rooms on Friday and Saturday nights as part of our wedding lodging for guests. They made the registration very easy for our guests and everyone said they enjoyed how spacious the rooms were, and how it was great proximity to the transit and Santa Clara University. The biggest plus, though, was the enormous effort they put into making sure that my father, who was severely disabled and wheelchair bound, would be able to stay. They worked with a healthcare service to get a hospital bed and oxygen delivered ahead of time and have them set up. They made sure that all our questions were answered and were extremely hospitable. I was really just blown away and it took a lot of stress out of the wedding weekend. Thank you, Candlewood!
This is not my first stay at this hotel. Istayed here 2 years ago for a month ctom work. This time i came with my wife. We stayed 2 nights. We got a nice suit with a bedtoom and a living room. Kitchen was the same well equiped and everything worked fine. There was a minor issue on the bathroom the tap was dripping. Beside of that it was great.
This hotel was recommended to me after an overbooking cancellation by another hotel. The photos online looked nice but wasn't sure it would look the same. What a delightful surprise as we pulled in to the entrance! Located across Santa Clara University, in a quiet area away from the main street. The front desk receptionist was very friendly and helpful, ambiance is great, and even better - my visiting friends were able to get in their suite before regular check-in. Love the suite! Very clean, design is very fresh and functional, yet spacious. Bathroom is a good size. Queen size bed in the bedroom plus a sofa bed in the living room. Kitchen -refrigerator is a full size, electric stove/oven, microwave. Perfect for longer stay. Very convenient to Hwy880 and San Jose Int'l Airport. Not far from Santana Row either.
This is my favorite place to stay with my company having corporate tieup. Upon my every visit, I use to stay at this place and I always felt the comfort of second home. The maintenance of the rooms and the courteous staff are a big plus. the parking slot and the garden around gives a pleasant stay. Not sure about others but the train track behind the hotel is a ring the bell experience. I personally like the trains passing by and watching them sitting at the suite. The recliner sofa at every room is an added plus. And the compact kitchen makes it all to be a perfect studio room.
Hotels are expensive in Silicon Valley and when you're forced to stay within government per diem, sometimes this is one of the only hotels that meets that requirement. There is no way I would spend the amount my company spent for a night in this hotel. I didn't see the value. I had never stayed in a Candlewood Suites and expected it more like Homewood Suites (Hilton) or Residence Inn (Marriott). It was not. There was no breakfast in the morning and the rooms were much smaller. The fridge and air conditioner ran quite loudly and the chair was so close to the tiny bed (full - fine for just one, but not for 2) that I kicked it each time I got out of bed. The bathroom was a good size and had really thick towels. The bed, while small, was comfy and the room was clean. So if I had expected a small room, double bed and no breakfast, I would be saying this was a good hotel as the towels were much nicer than many similarly priced hotels. My expectations, however, caused me to be disappointed. I haven't tried the Holiday Inn Express, but that will be where I try next time no other hotel is within per diem. I really like having a hot breakfast at the hotel and you can only do that if you bring your own food. The room has a full sized fridge, stove, and oven. Perhaps a business person staying extended stay would prefer this hotel with the kitchen, but a couple in this room would be too cramped.
