We stayed here while visiting Siem Reap and Ankor Wat - very much like a home rather than hotel and had a nice rooftop pool aswell. The restaurant across from the apartments serve great good and its also a short walk to the market and shops if you wish to buy local produce and cook yourself at home.
Wouldn't stay again. Staff are nice and the rooms look good but the sheets had clearly not been washed after the previous occupants of the room. Give it a miss. Tour booked though hotel of Angkor Wat was fine but guide was not the best.
After staying in Siem Reap at Karavansara for one month, I can confidently say this is the best choice!!! It is the perfect location, just a 5 minute walk to Pub Street, one minute from King's Road, and central to everything! Since tuk tuk drivers do no know addresses or streets but everyone knows Temple Coffee (Karavansara is right next to Temple Coffee) getting home is easy, always. But those are just small reasons to stay here. The apartment was amazing. The bathroom alone is the size of most hotel rooms. The deck is huge and ours overlooked the main street where the Giant Puppet Parade was! So, of course, we invited local friends over who had never seen the puppet parade!!! Everyone was so impressed with the apartment!!! The sunsets from the living room were second to none. Everyone that works at Karavansara is welcoming, helpful, and will make your stay perfect. The pool on the roof is cool and refreshing.........I want to go back!!!! Thank you to all at Karavansara for making our month so comfortable!!
Nothing special about the place. It is close to Night market and Pub street. A bit in a quiter area with discreet staff. The rooms have a good size and there are not too many rooms. So it can be the perfect place if you sre not looking for something special.
I booked a night there , stuff are not that friendly. Room is full of mosquito flying around. Very disappoint of the service ! Good location but the room is not that nice Need to improve on this point.
The hotel overbooked. So despite us booking and already pre-paying 2 months in advance, when we showed up on New Year's Eve, my family didn't have a room. The hotel staff proceeded to make us wait 2 hours, while they tried to book a cheap replacement. It was only when I said I'd personally pay for a more expensive replacement hotel, that we were able to find lodging close to midnight. By that time, we were exhausted, and it was too late to inform our Tuk Tuk driver of our new location, so we had thus had to miss the 1st sunrise of 2017 at Angkor Way, which we traveled half the planet to see. So they ruined what was supposed to be a highlight of our vacation. Throughout the process, Karavansara hotel tried to bargain and solve their screwup cheaply, instead of focusing on how to help us quickly. They were truly terrible. Our experience was so bad, that I'm considering asking Hotels.com / Expedia to de-list this hotel.
Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel for just two nights. The hotel is just few minutes away from the main street. The room was clean and charming although we had a little guest one night making noise. It was a gecko but it is pretty normal there and they are harmless. The staff was very helpful, they have arranged a tuk tuk for us to pick us up from the airport and take us to Angkor Wat. I will surely go there again if i may visit Siem Reap another time.
I stayed at Karavansara Retreat for 2 nights. Overall, the hotel is very nice. Good location, easy walk to the Old Market and Pub Street area, but tucked away in the Wat Bo area east of the river. Nice clean room with a big bed and a patio. Rooftop pool is lovely. The only complaint is due to the location of my room, which was very close to the road and the front lobby of the hotel, it got quite noisy at night. Aside from this, I would recommend this hotel!
the place is very convenient by the river, with restaurant and shops around. you can walk to/from a lot of the places from here, the old market and pub street are just nearby. i will certainly stay here again next time i visit.
We were planning to stay in Kravansara during our whole stay in Cambodia. We booked a pick up from the airport and a few minutes into our journey we realised the driver was drunk. He openly told us that he had been drinking in a wedding all day and was more than capable of driving a car. We got into the hotel and a receptionist laughed as soon as we told him what happened. The hotel room had no working plugs and we struggled to charge our phones and cameras. We spent one night in the hotel and realised that the pool was nothing like in the pictures. It was very small and needed freshening up. The room that we were staying in was next to the main road so we were awake at 6am from the loud traffic, the receptionist did offer to change to room for us but then at 9am they started construction work next door. There was a jcb with a hammer breaking concrete from 9am onwards which was more than we could take, no way of relaxing in the room or by the pool due to the noise. We checked out and moved hotels after one night. They charged us for the full 3 days even though we only stayed one night. To be fair the staff there were actually quite polite but it was unfair for them to change us for the full 3 days considering the amount of noise coming from the construction site next door.
