Tried to stay here on advice of a colleague. Arrived at 4:30 pm; pretty standard Chinese hotel without many frills. Reservation made three weeks was no longer available. No email; no phone; no notification. It was fortunate that it was a slow travel day so I stayed at area Hilton instead. Extremely expensive, too....

I stayed for a conference and enjoyed the hotel. Great rooms, well situated and good service. Recommended. The staff were very helpful after a taxi driver tried to rip me off. Helped me report the incident to the police.

It was a short stay but it was a great stay indeed.. Room was nice and tidy. The place is very near to the metro. It very easy when you are lazy to go out and you want some food coz they offer room service. But it's not hard to find a place for food coz you can find plenty of restaurants all over the place. Recommended for travelers.

We have visited the Honlux on a number of occasions, it’s so convenient for Seaworld and Shekou Port. The MTR station is a minute walk away, its very clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. I don’t usually have breakfast as their are so many choices around the hotel and the ship, great little place.

The hotel place is nice. It is near food establishments and amusement park. The room is spacious and clean. I liked in particular is the free chocolate everynight and the included bluetooth speaker to as an alarm clock/music player. The brekfast has variety and the food is good.

The Honlux Apartment hotel is a solid 3 star right on Sea World Plaza which is expat-central Shenzhen. Check took in a little longer than it should have because of the search for my visa stamp. English was fine. This is a converted apartment building (thus the name). My room looked out directly over the plaza and was average size for this class hotel. It was a non-smoking room but it still had a little staleness. There was a small sitting area, average size flat screen TV, average comfort single bed, and a few items in a basket mini-bar. They provided two free bottles of water and, a nice touch, two tiny Toberlone candy bars. There is both construction and entertainment going on outside, and though there is soundproofing, it does not quite get it all. The bathroom was smallish with corner shower, single sink, and granite counter tops. You will get the full set of Chinese hotel amenities you would find at better hotels. The internet was free and fairly fast. The hotel is right on Sea World plaza so expect all of the western restaurants, both chains and styles, that you would want (including upscale prices). The hotel is steps away from the Sea World metro station and one metro stop (with short bus connect) from the Hong Kong Ferry. On slow nights, you will find 4 star hotels for the same price.

Room is OK. Located in the seaworld trendy area. Easy access from airport with ferry terminal 1-2 miles from hotel. Taxis always nearby available. Rooms smell a bit for cigarets as well as hallways. People smoke a lot in china. Carpet floors don't help. Overall a good spot with a good price.

Good service, room size is good, always hot water, and a nice buffet breakfast! The staff is nice and professional. I'd like to recognize Fish at the front desk for always taking good care of me and always smiling! Internet is a bit slow, but otherwise, would recommend this hotel.

This place is located a 1 min walk from Sea World metro station. Restaurants, bars and shops are right on the doorstep. This was a real bonus for my husband and I who were visiting for 1 night from Hong Kong. The hotel is clean and comfortable. I'd say it is around 3/4 star. Bed was really comfortable and the bathroom reasonable - it was a little on the tired side though. Flatscreen TV with western channels CNN, Discovery etc. Toileteries provided. Excellent free wifi connection. 2 bottles of complimentary mineral water provided. Service was friendly. Blackout curtains were good and room was opposite side of sea world so was quiet. No smell of smoke that you get in Chinese hotels sometimes. We did have to ask for an extra towel as this hotel is primarily a business hotel with 1 occupant in the rooms usually I think. This was rectified whilst we were out. I'd recommend this place as a convenient and comfortable place to stay in Shenzhen.

I've stayed here 3 times over the last 3 months. Each visit has been perfect. Prices are good, rooms are clean, Internet is 'hong kong' connection (no China firewall issues). Nightly turn down. Fast housekeeping. Great staff and service -- always. Unique things: - Good dry cleaning. A 'bag' for $10 for sundries... Or, 3 free pieces of wash per day. Nice touch for long trips using a carry on only. - Sea World. This is 'in' sea world. If you long for something from (name any country) there is a restaurant here that will make you happy. (Sea world is an open air mall, not a park). - Just as far from anywhere - as anywhere. I've stayed in Bao'an to be near mfg -- but the difference is at night you can do stuff here. In Bao'an there is nothing. It's an 'hour' to get anywhere. About the same as anywhere else. And Shekou is near the border crossing and has a ferry to HKG Central. Stuff I'd love to see improve: - Breakfast is ok. I don't know why Bacon in Asia is soggy. No difference here. I stick to eggs. Universal. Actually, restaurant is a bit disappointing overall. With so many great outside restaurants, I guess they just don't want to compete? - Internet is acceptable but could be a tad faster. Hard to stream Hangouts for video calls but voice is fine. Definitely the place to stay in Shenzhen for business.
