Hotel was good, staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel is very nice, but the surrounding area is just average. If you want to see real China, then it's great.
Good location good price. I really liked a gym and swimming pool here.
The location is in the French part of the city and very convenient to get to and get around. The room was beautifully appointed with ultra modern amenities including a bathroom glass screen that you could mist up for privacy or keep clear to appreciate the view. Extremely comfortable and everything you would expect in a 5 star hotel.
This hotel is relatively close to everything mayor at a price that cannot be beat!!! Stayed here for 8 nights on a leisure trip; rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and modern looking. Staff is friendly and helpful but a bit shy towards westerners due to some language barrier but no issue to be honest. Highly recommendable and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. As a reference: I work as a supervisor in a 5 diamond hotel in Hawaii so I've seen what service and quality looks like; this is very very good for the price!!! Only one minor but weird thing: Although the hotel has free wireless internet of good quality in the public areas like lobby, bars and restaurants, my room had only (free nonetheless) wired internet. I read this before in a review so brought my own old wireless router, but still a bit funny. Supposedly you can get paid wireless in (some but not all?) of the rooms or it is sometimes free as well as a package but I am not to clear on it. Overall: great!!!
Hotel has nice rooms, but service is 1 star at best. This hotel compares with others that are 3 stars. Hotel Nikko Shanghai is definitely not a 5 star hotel, by any stretch of the imagination.
It is new, clean and nicely decorated hotel. The fitness center is big and has excellent facility. The overall internal environment is great. Although it is in the city center, not much interesting spots are within walking distance. The service quality has some room to improve. Some staff are well trained but some are not. Generally speaking, the hardware part of the hotel is definitely 5star plus level while the software has room to improve.
Nice hotel. Poor service Overall I would not recommend this hotel, and would suggest staying elsewhere. Many other hotels in Shanghai are less expensive, and offer similar amenities with 5 star service. Service at Hotel Nikko is 1 star at best.
i stayed two times in this hotel and it is very nice hotel very nice stuff. free internet , very big room, very modern bathroom with tv inside.
every thin was more than my exeptation. the rooms was very big and clean, fantastic lobby, very nice stuf. the most important thing for me was starbuck coffe it few steps from the hotel.
Great Location. Getting a Taxi is not easy. Price is good. Room is very clean and comfortable. Toto toilet is great!
The design of the hotel rooms is very well thought out. The amenities at this hotel are excellent and better than other hotels I have stayed at in the area (gym, pool). Everything has been maintained well. Staff has limited English but they try to accomodate as much as they can.
THIS IS OUR SECOND TIME STAYING IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS AND LOOKING FORWARD TO RETURNING AGAIN. I GIVE THIS PROPERTY A 5 STAR IN ALL ASPECTS . THIS PROPERTY IS A MUST WHILE STAYING IN SHANGHAI . THANKS GARNETT
I travel to Shanghai 3 to 4 times per year. This was my first time staying at this hotel. For the money, I'd rather stay at a different hotel. Nothing wrong in particular but certainly not worth the extras. I stayed during a time with almost 100% occupancy which made room arrangements interesting. Friendly-ish staff.
I think nikko hotel is one of the best hotel for japanese in shanghai.
ok nothing as i expected.. place was empty. did feel taken advantage of.. dont think they like americans there.. best part was the $30 breakfast.. 2 eggs and toast for 30 bucks should have been free.. i wont go there again
