Perfect

You really couldn't go wrong with this property. It was breath-taking as soon as you stepped through the door. The wooden spiral staircases were beautiful. There were TONS of arcade games for us to play, which was great for the rainy times. It was pretty much smack-dabb between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The hot tub was a welcomed addition as my family used it everyday. The bedroom set-up was great too, as each bedroom was on a different level from the others. Our adult children were able to have their own getaway downstairs with a separate entry on the deck. It really was just the perfect place.

Nice cabin. Comfortable beds.

The cabin was nice and the beds and couches were very comfortable. We slept very well! We enjoyed having the games to play, the hot tub, and the theater room. The cabin is a comfortable space for 6 people. However, some things do need a little updated and some extra cleaning would make the space much nicer. There isn't enough silverware for the whole family to eat a meal and there is quite a bit of dust buildup on the floor in some areas. The host responded to us quickly and was very accommodating.

July vacation

The property was great. We got to see a momma bear and her cubs come right up the driveway. The hot tub was amazing after a long day of exploring pigeon forge and Gatlinburg. There wasn’t a puck for the air hockey game and there were only 3 forks in the kitchen. But we made do and had a great time! The nostalgia of the old games was awesome. Thank you again for sharing your great home.

Nice Quiet Stay in the Mountains

The cabin is nice, but most of the games are not in the best working order. The hot tub was fantastic. There is a theater room, but there are no instructions as to how to operate it. We never figured it out. Being that it was just my wife and I, it worked for us. Would like to have watched a movie in the theater. Good place for a romantic getaway, but kids would be disappointed at the game situation.

The cabin was very fun and the host was great to communicate with when needed. The only thing I can say to those who are looking to stay with older parents or (In a nice way) little than bigger bodies. Is the stairs to go up to the third floor and the down to the first floor are tight and twisty. We all loved the cabin and was able on the last day to have a visit from a bear which was so cool. So if you have kids or big kids who like video games. I totally recommend this cabin. Thanks again for a great vacation.

Nice cabin

Cabin was nice. Lots of activities to entertain the kids while adults relaxed. The thing we didn't like was that the 3rd bedroom and theater room was located in the "basement" which the only access was from the front porch down a TIGHT spiral staircase. No indoor access. The couple with no kids was nice enough to take that room so we didn't have to worry about the kids having to go out side to come up or down if they needed something during the nighttime. It was rather difficult to carry suitcase/bags up and down the staircase as well. Otherwise the cabin was pretty clean and well kept. We enjoyed our stay.

Cozy Mountain Getaway

This was a quaint cozy cabin. A few things to know before you go. Pros: Prompt response from the property manager when we couldn't find breaker box after I plugged in bedroom lamp. (I think with all the games upstairs running it flipped the breaker). Wonderful view, family enjoyed hot tub. Cons: Couldn't get Netflix to play downstairs. Only 3 spoons in drawer for cereal day. We couldn't figure out the master bedroom fireplace (ambiance only). This time of year must bring in the flies as there were dead flies near the bathroom and windows upstairs. Spiral staircases are narrow and for those with good knees! Minor issues that didn't stop us from enjoying our stay.

Cabin stay

When we got there was very little toilet paper. There was on one trash bag which was in the trash can. There was roaches. Some of the games didn’t work. There was food under the chairs in the movie theater. I stayed in the down stairs room when I move the dresser to plug in my phone charger. There was popcorn that had been there a while because it had dust on it. They only had 2 towel and washcloth down stairs. I’ve never stay in a cabin that didn’t provide that. When looking out the balcony into the woods there was trash everywhere. It’s a beautiful cabin but it’s upkeep is not there.

Beautiful cabin

Our family loved the cabin. Bed was comfortable, hot tub and jetted tub was also nice. Other than arriving at 4 for check in and waiting outside for an hour because the cleaning crew is short staffed and was in the process of cleaning our cabin. The stay was great. The cabin was amazing and accommodating especially for 5 kids.

Nice but not what was expecting

Overall, the property was nice. However, the pictures and descriptions do not accurately portray the cabin. First, beware that the pictures and listings show three fireplaces. Yes, they exist, but for aesthetic purposes only. They removed the heating elements which I did not know until I arrived (it was explained in the rules once we paid, but I did not see right away. This should have been explained in the description). The pictures they provide are from a wide angle camera, making the space look MUCH larger than what it is. The furniture is also different, which is okay, but what’s in there now takes up more room than what’s seen in the pictures. Their is a pull-out couch which had a plastic wrapping on the mattress but under it was chocolate and popcorn kernels. We did find an extra sheet but not any extra blankets. During the night, the heat broke, and it happened on the night we got about three inches of snow. So, it would have been really nice to have working fireplaces. I called about 6:30 that morning and they had it fixed by 11:00, so we did appreciate their quick response. Overall, it was a nice cabin, but had the pictures been more accurate as well as the description, I probably wouldn’t have picked this one for the price I paid. I was really looking forward to a peaceful, relaxing view and warmth of a fireplace. That’s why we came to the mountains.

Better for older children

The cabin was very clean and roomy except for the hot tub and jacuzzi. The hot tub smelled really bad like eggs or something, the jacuzzis jets were clogged up i believe because the water pressure was hardly any and only 2 or 3 of the jets even ran water but then again every jacuzzi is different and I dont know much about them but both the hot tub and jacuzzi jets had visible gunk all around them. The other thing was the amount of spider webs in and around the cabin was unsettling, especially since one of the spiders we seen looked a lot like a black widow. Other than that the cabin was wonderful and very well kept and is very suitable for older kids rather than smaller children. I stayed extremely stressed out my whole stay due to me not thinking it through and took my two children (3 and under) with my husband and I and the set up is extremely dangerous for smaller kids due to the stairs and the ball machine sitting right by the railing upstairs...I had to stay onto my kids the whole time because they wanted to try and climb it and kept running up and and the stairs. So to sum it up I really wouldn't recommend this cabin for young children but I would 100% recommend for anyone with older children or just themselves because it really was a very mice cabin

Things you should know

We enjoyed our stay, but there’s some things I wish I had known before we got there. Don’t plan to grill. The grates are spread too wide to actually cook. There are only two small frying pans- hard to make pancakes for a family when you have to make one at a time. The beds are waist high. The “community” pool is about 5 miles away- not what the kids were hoping for, unfortunately. Apparently there is no garbage pick up. The bear proof cage was full when we got there, so we had to leave our garbage bag in the cabin when we left. The internet is spotty at best, which was fine for a family who wanted to get away for a week, but it made the theater downstairs useless. Finally, the lighting in the kitchen area is behind you when you stand at the stove or counter, so it’s difficult to see what you’re doing. Overall we enjoyed our experience but probably wouldn’t stay again.

Great for families with kids

Everything was good, cabin was clean beds were comfy, hot tub was nice and loved sitting out on the deck, however a few things needs repairs …. Like the theater chairs, only 2 works correctly. And a couple of the games need fixed. I knew of one being down. Great for a family with kids.

Convenient fun place for a family

We enjoyed our stay at Bear Envy. It’s very close to local attractions such as Dollywood. It’s certainly a unique and fun place for families at a good price point! Note of Warning: if loud noises from the game room such as air hockey and the loud talking and laughing that result from those games are going to drive you nuts, you might choose to stay somewhere other than in a house full of games. Otherwise, embrace and enjoy the memories made! If you are planning to cook, make sure to bring basic food staples such as salt, pepper, oil and other seasonings because those aren’t in stock.
