My twin sister and myself were born and raised in Selma, we have not been to our hometown in a very long time. We came to meet with my Selma Realistate agent to view many properties, we had a great time seeing and walking down the streets we once played on so many years ago. The Hampton made our stay even better to give us the rest we needed at the end of a very long day, A +++++++++++ plus all the way!
We have always had good results from staying at Hampton Inns but this was an exception. To start, we asked for a room that was handicap accessible with a king bed and roll in shower. What we got was a HC accessible room with 2 queen beds and a tub. The tub had one grab bar and there were no grab bars for the toilet. We found it hard to use the toilet and couldn't take a shower because couldn't step over in the tub and was no HC seat in the tub. The breakfast was less than desired also and they kept running out of food and not replenishing it. When I asked a hotel employee for more food, tey said "knoc on ther kitchen door" .. I did that and no answer so my family went without breakfast. The chair that was with the desk seemed like it was broken and I amlmost tipped over and fell so we didn;t use the chair anymore. Would not recommend this hotel.
We stayed at this hotel after exploring Montgomery and Selma. The rooms are clean and quiet. This hotel is on a busy street near gas stations and a few restaurants on the outskirts of town. We enjoyed the waffles at breakfast, as well as the fruit. Would have enjoyed some yogurt too, but did not see any.
I have stayed at many Hilton brands around the country and many Hamptons. This one missed the mark. Not what I have come to expect from a Hilton brand. Not bad, but not really good either. If you travel much you will see that maybe it is a reflection of the city itself. Selma misses the mark badly. It is like no one cares about appearance or maintenance in that town. It's a shame too. There is a lot of potential there.
Stayed at the Hampton Inn Selma on March 7 for an event in Marion, AL the morning of March 8. Clean room and breakfast hit the spot. When checking in, the front desk staff member offered me bottle water as usual but they even asked if I wanted it chilled or room temp - very impressive to offer both!!!
We stayed here for one night to attend an event in Marion AL next morning. Kreneisha and staff were awesome as was the room (awesomely comfy bed) and the comp breakfast. Will definitely stay here again!
Stayed here on our trip up to Selma to visit civil rights sites. Got in late but got a great, large room. Staff was nice and friendly. Parking was easy. Decent free continental breakfast too. Would recommend.
Stayed here 3 nights in January 2018 on business. Room was nice and clean. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Internet worked fine. Nice breakfast area with plenty of room. The food was fine for hotel breakfast.
The manager Kerry was not friendly at all. I’ve never experienced customer service like that at any other Hilton property. I was so disappointed. Although I prefer Hilton Properties, I’ll never return to this location.
Although beds were made, the room was not clean. Bathroom shower had been repaired very poorly; shower curtain rod install upside down so curtain wouldn’t close. Also we woke up to find bedbugs. We’ve stayed here before on several trips. I’ve noticed the quality of this hotel has continued to go down in the past couple of years. Hilton properties claim to be superior to other comparable hotels, which is why I pay more to stay at them. At this hotel, I paid Hilton prices, but got motel qualiry. Completely unacceptable.
