Check in was fine, location is perfect. There is no parking so you have to find space on the street and pay. The carpet smells. The lift was not working for the couple of days We were there and it looks like there is no rush to fix it. The hotel was clean. The room was small which is ok if you just want yo crash. If you will be working I dont think there will be enough space. It is right opposite the train station and there is a Carrefour supermarket within working distance and plenty of other places to eat. You can also walk to many places. There is free Wifii and it worked fine.
Me and my husband arrived with our border collie (this was supposed to be a pet friendly hotel) after a long day of tourism to be greeted by a very rude and unfriendly host receptionist. She didn't even greeted me when I arrived with my dog and started complaining about the dog's fur and as she came towards me in an offensive attitude, my dog barked as sign of fear (some border collies are afraid of people and bark in fearful situations). As the dog barked she started saying the dog would disturb the other guests and would bark behind the room's door. She refused to talk in English with me but I could understand what she was saying - she was saying that the dog would bark and disturb and I explained that we'd never had any problem whatsoever in any other Hotel with our dog and she only barked because she was afraid of her. I suggested that first we could wait to have a complaint because we were sure that our dog always behaves but this lady wasn't looking for a solution. The situation got so uncomfortable that we didn't even got in the room, we had to cancel the room and she wasn't even sorry or offered us the chance to use the Hotel´s internet. I never experienced worse hospitality in a Hotel. My husband suggested that the Hotel should change the pets policies in the website and she agreed. It cost us internet international data, driving more kilometres and paying more road tolls and a headache but we found a delightful pet friendly Hotel in another city. I can guarantee this is NOT a pet friendly Hotel and they fail in client relations and hospitality.
Thought the hotel was ok. Everything seemed fine until I dared ask in the morning for some more tea and coffee for our room. The abuse I received for asking was unbelievable and I was actually physically pushed away by who I believe to be the Manager. My partner then went to confront her as I was very tearful and upset over the confrontation. He basically got the same treatment and was told as he didn't see it ...it didn't happen !! Basically calling us liars !! Have stayed in many hotels and have NEVER been treated so poorly. For someone who works in hospitality trade this behaviour was truly shocking. DO NOT COME HERE !
Perfect location if you travel by train. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast is not included, but there are a lot of places in walking distance. And be careful, you have to check in before 10 pm!
Small, room, but ok for the price. Clean but no air conditioner. no lounge to speak of, not very personal or cozy. food market close by, but cafees are abysmal. no where to get breakfast except in hotel
This hotel is perfect if you travel by train.. we had 3 rooms and they were all good and comfy. They give you tea and coffee, which was a nice surprise because we stayed at a 5 * hotel not so long ago and no trace of coffee/tea, not even water. The young receptionist was very nice and helpful, the breakfast was pretty basic but also very cheap, so, nothing to complain. The only problem was the heat. Overall, a nice, clean and not pricey stay.
I've stayed in this hotel on several occasions and have always been really happy that I made a good choice. On this most recent visit (and on previous visits) staff have always been happy to look after my case before check-in and after check-out, which has meant that I've really been able to enjoy every minute of my holiday. Staff are also friendly and knowledgable about the local area. The hotel is very conveniently located. It is near to the train and bus station and the Docks Vauban shopping centre, as well as being right opposite a tram stop. The tram provides an inexpensive and convenient link with the beach and the city centre. As this hotel is so well connected, it's worth comparing the price with the other Comfort Hotel in Le Havre (Comfort Hotel d'Angleterre). Comfort Hotel d'Angleterre is often more expensive, but in my opinion this one is nicer and the premium for proximity to the beach is not really worth paying. The room was clean, tidy and perfectly adequate for our needs.
This hotel is directly opposite the Le Havre station and that is honestly it's only attraction. It's more of a boarding house than a hotel. The receptionist/owner? Was the only person on duty, she was very kind and explained that at 10pm she locks up and goes home so gave us a code for the entrance door. I was quite concerned that we were the only people in the hotel but luckily I heard voice's in another room opposite us so felt a little better at being left alone in the building! We were hoping to get a nightcap at the bar when we came in after a meal in the town ( there is only a breakfast restaurant) but the bar was locked up and we were told that the bar staff was/were ill!?! Our room overlooked the street and was incredibly noisy with the window open and with the window closed the room was stuffy - we chose stuffy! The window was difficult to open and close and the room was definitely not soundproof as advertised. We could not find the promised air conditioner either. Good points is that the room was adequate, we asked for a double bed but got twin beds, however they were clean and comfortable. Bathroom is tiny but adequate with a small shower. T V had an English station which is good and there was a kettle in the room. Will we come back? Definitely not but might suit someone who is in transit and doesn't mind a boarding house atmosphere in a hotel
As many previous reviewers have stated, the hotel is in front of the railway station and a tram stop. We received an email from the hotel a few days before we stayed asking "urgently" for our arrival time. On the day, we got delayed in traffic, only to be chastised by the receptionist for being late and told that they had tried to contact us 5 times to see where we were - not a good first impression. The rooms were fairly small and basic - but more than adequate for our needs. We overlooked the station and, by far the noisiest thing, were the trams. However, we did have a good nights sleep. Breakfast, the following morning, was available from 8am. There was a decent selection - big not much off it. The five of us could have done with extra croissants and pastries - but the staff were no where to be seen. There's no car park at the hotel so we had to park on an adjacent street. It's free overnight and up to 9am. The on street parking was busy but we were lucky and obtained a space very close to the hotel. Wifi worked well and everything was clean.
Good hotel, acrosss the road from bus, tram and train stations. Good breakfast, cups, tea and electric kettle in the room. It's quite far from the sea shore but the tram goes directly there. I am fully satisfied with my stay
