In the orbitz info for the Colonial Inn, it stated that it was seven minutes from Brown University. This is why we chose this hotel. When we checked in, the receptionist, who lectures at multiple colleges, told us that no matter which direction she is traveling in, it usually takes three or four times the amount of time to get to any destination that it should take because traffic is ALWAYS heavy. I'm so glad that she warned us. The "seven minute" trip took us 35 minutes. Had we not been warned, we would have missed our appointment at Brown. Our other concern was the paper thin adjoining door through which we could hear every word of the conversations of the the people in the next room. Every other aspect of this hotel was ideal. The person who checked us in, was working there only part time. She was a lovely physician/virologist who was very helpful with info regarding the traffic, places to eat, location of ice machine, and even let me pick her brain for REAL science based vaccine info.

This hotel was more a motel off of a busy road. The abandoned buildings surrounding the property made it feel a bit unsafe and unappealing for out of town visitors. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Beds were ok.

True statement of you can't judge a book by its cover...this place is a hidden jem...I rented the room bc i had a wedding to go to and live10 mins away however my entire neighborhood was out of electricity when I arrived home from work at 1pm..the wedding was at 4 ..in a panic I rented the first available one on the web..I arrived and was dreading opening the room door but to my delight it smelled looked and felt absolutely fantastic..what was something that I was freaking out about was put at ease...I was able to get ready for the wedding AND at the end of the night the room still smelled looked and felt comfortable which alerted me to the fact that it was not a mask.. I was able to rest in a very comfortable bed...will def recommend to anyone that wants to listen!!
