Staff and check in was ok. Breakfast was good and the restaurant was nice with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, the hotel room itself is outdated. Old building that was never remodeled. Carpet is super old. It is definitely overpriced for what you get.

The grounds were lovely and breakfast was excellent, but the room and bathroom need updated. Even if the chairs and floors were freshened it would help. The bed was comfortable enough.

Spent a few nights for a family trip in Seattle area. This hotel gets score 5 for some stuff but score 1 for others... First of all they don't keep a receptionist at all time, and so sometimes there is no one there and you have to call them when you are at the front desk. They should have a phone moved from their desk to the counter so that the guest could simply dial 0 from that phone instead of having to take their own cell phone out of their bag and call the number on the "out of desk" board. Also they should have a table in the room. It's so hard to do anything without a decent table. And they DO need to fix the shower or change the shower head. That shower is useless. The bathroom door (sliding door) is way too heavy, too.

Rooms were clean but dated and smelled old and musty. Breakfast was excellent!

We had a great stay at Talaris Conference Center. Will definitely recommend to stay at this relaxing and peaceful place.

Talaris is not your typical hotel/motel. It is a conference center which rents rooms on weekends when no conferences are being held. It is located in an 18 acre park-like setting. It is more like a retreat facility. Rooms are clean, although modest in size. Complementary breakfast was great. We will return!

the staff was so helpful and friendly. alexandra at the front desk and norma at the breakfast were examples for excellent customer service. norma took us outside to show us the baby bald eagles with the binoculars. the grounds provided the perfect place for dailly walks.

The grounds are very nice and a quiet refuge in a busy area. Rooms are quite outdated with linoleum floors in the bathrooms, outdated fixtures, linens are typical hotel, pillows need to be better quality with protectors beneath the covers. With some updating to the rooms and linens, this could easily be improved.

My time at Talaris was a joy. I stayed at Talaris because of a training program taking place in the E conference center. The Talaris and environment really supported the training. I loved the natural world and the attention of the staff. I saw the Momma Bald Eagle perched in a tree during lunch one day. The room was a little dated but still comfortable and had everything I needed. The bed was firm enough and the pillows soft enough for a good night sleep which is not always the case for me. The staff were really helpful and I felt well taken care of. A short walk away were plenty of restaurants for dinner. Breakfast was acceptable. Lunch was much better. Snacks through the conference day were much appreciated with a selection of teas, coffee, juices, and water always available. I highly recommend Talaris.

Very nice grounds hidden near U of Washington campus. Beautiful garden. This hotel is unusual in that it is also a conference center. Comfortable rooms. Good location nears shops. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Seattle.

Lovely setting/ smallish rooms but quite comfortable. It's a conference center, so there are meetings going on.There's a buffet breakfast included . Keurig coffeemaker in your room too. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, which is always appreciated, and doesn't happen enough. We chose it because we were just passing through Seattle and had no need to visit downtown so were happy to avoid a more expensive hotel rate and pay for parking. This is an excellent option especially if you have no need for hotel amenities like room service and are fine with not being in downtown Seattle.

We were not able to stay as there was a mix-up on the the night that we were to stay, but the clerk was very helpful in finding other accommodations.

Lovely, relaxing place to stay. Very pleasant staff.

It's a great location close to the UW, a park setting in the middle of the city. The best was the staff; we dealt with two different people at the check-in desk, and they both went out of their way to make us comfortable, look up local businesses for us, etc. We loved it!

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review of your experience with us. Talaris is working to update and refresh rooms in a slower manner as to not have to pass the cost along to our customers. One of the nuances of our property is that the community has an avid interest in preserving and protecting the site, landscape and buildings based on their unique modernist design and intact original character, which can in turn is a contributing factor to the "old" smell. We do in fact focus our attention mainly on food, cleanliness and service. Thank you for complimenting our breakfast! Our Chef Peter prides himself on providing original items, with a choice for any type of taste. We hope you enjoyed the scenery and walking trails as well.

Talaris is very pleased to know that you recognized the truly serene setting. There is nothing else like it in the area. Although it is quiet and tranquil, if you are seeking hustle and bustle during the day.
