Dirty, outdated, overpriced. Portable A/C in rooms. Hallways smelled like a very old house, and were hot. Burnt food at continental breakfast.

Surrounded by nature, great setting, sizeable room, comfortable and clean bed and bathroom, delicious included breakfast.

Beautiful property! Extremely quiet and serene. Restaurants nearby and a good breakfast included. Beds were comfy and room was clean.

Unfortunately the online pictures are from quite a while ago. The property has been let go with only very minimal upkeep. Not only are the once lovely grounds overgrown but the condition of our accommodations were deplorable. A term often used in reviews is dated. Dated can be charming but the proper term here is dilapidated. Our shower was molded, the carpet was frayed and stained, the woodwork was worn and stained, and there is a very strong old and musty odor that caused both of our sinuses to act up. The staff are young and they tried their best to be pleasant and overcome the horrible condition of the property. The breakfast was good and the gentleman staffing the breakfast area, Mario, was extremely friendly and pleasant. I travel extensively and have stayed in everything from motels on the side of the highway to the four seasons depending on the occasion and I can assure you this property is near the bottom.

The property was old and dirty. The maintenance is terrible, and I feel really deceived by the pictures. I was charged $224.55 by Orbitz for a King room. When I checked out, Talaris printed me a receipt showing the room cost only $179.64. Both prices are way too high, but the $45 discrepancy is unnerving.

I found this hotel to be a real gem. I really enjoyed my stay. The grounds are by far the most amazing. I saw a raccoon and a big egret in the pond. The fountain is gorgeous as is the walking path across the pond. The breakfast was amazing.. fresh smoothies, fresh squeezed orange juice, several homemade unique jams, bacon, eggs, etc, just amazing... felt almost like a bed and breakfast with the attention to detail on the breakfast items. The room was nice.. kind of felt like a cabin. There were some issues in the bathroom. There were little dead bugs all over the ceiling from the lights and some staining of the caulk in the shower. After my shower, the floor was flooded with water. I was surprised as I had closed the shower curtain. I sopped it all up. But I could tell this had happened before as the floor was squishy around the toilet and a little stained under the linoleum.

Staff and check in was ok. Breakfast was good and the restaurant was nice with a beautiful view. Unfortunately, the hotel room itself is outdated. Old building that was never remodeled. Carpet is super old. It is definitely overpriced for what you get.

The grounds were lovely and breakfast was excellent, but the room and bathroom need updated. Even if the chairs and floors were freshened it would help. The bed was comfortable enough.

Spent a few nights for a family trip in Seattle area. This hotel gets score 5 for some stuff but score 1 for others... First of all they don't keep a receptionist at all time, and so sometimes there is no one there and you have to call them when you are at the front desk. They should have a phone moved from their desk to the counter so that the guest could simply dial 0 from that phone instead of having to take their own cell phone out of their bag and call the number on the "out of desk" board. Also they should have a table in the room. It's so hard to do anything without a decent table. And they DO need to fix the shower or change the shower head. That shower is useless. The bathroom door (sliding door) is way too heavy, too.

Rooms were clean but dated and smelled old and musty. Breakfast was excellent!

We had a great stay at Talaris Conference Center. Will definitely recommend to stay at this relaxing and peaceful place.

Talaris is not your typical hotel/motel. It is a conference center which rents rooms on weekends when no conferences are being held. It is located in an 18 acre park-like setting. It is more like a retreat facility. Rooms are clean, although modest in size. Complementary breakfast was great. We will return!

the staff was so helpful and friendly. alexandra at the front desk and norma at the breakfast were examples for excellent customer service. norma took us outside to show us the baby bald eagles with the binoculars. the grounds provided the perfect place for dailly walks.

The grounds are very nice and a quiet refuge in a busy area. Rooms are quite outdated with linoleum floors in the bathrooms, outdated fixtures, linens are typical hotel, pillows need to be better quality with protectors beneath the covers. With some updating to the rooms and linens, this could easily be improved.

My time at Talaris was a joy. I stayed at Talaris because of a training program taking place in the E conference center. The Talaris and environment really supported the training. I loved the natural world and the attention of the staff. I saw the Momma Bald Eagle perched in a tree during lunch one day. The room was a little dated but still comfortable and had everything I needed. The bed was firm enough and the pillows soft enough for a good night sleep which is not always the case for me. The staff were really helpful and I felt well taken care of. A short walk away were plenty of restaurants for dinner. Breakfast was acceptable. Lunch was much better. Snacks through the conference day were much appreciated with a selection of teas, coffee, juices, and water always available. I highly recommend Talaris.

Very nice grounds hidden near U of Washington campus. Beautiful garden. This hotel is unusual in that it is also a conference center. Comfortable rooms. Good location nears shops. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown Seattle.

Lovely setting/ smallish rooms but quite comfortable. It's a conference center, so there are meetings going on.There's a buffet breakfast included . Keurig coffeemaker in your room too. We were warmly welcomed on arrival, which is always appreciated, and doesn't happen enough. We chose it because we were just passing through Seattle and had no need to visit downtown so were happy to avoid a more expensive hotel rate and pay for parking. This is an excellent option especially if you have no need for hotel amenities like room service and are fine with not being in downtown Seattle.

We were not able to stay as there was a mix-up on the the night that we were to stay, but the clerk was very helpful in finding other accommodations.

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay at Talaris! We are so pleased to hear that you took advantage of exploring the neighborhood and property. Our breakfast is a fan favorite; not the typical continental you find in other hotels. Yes, we are in a wonderful setting off the beaten path, just an extra measure to ensure your stay is as relaxing as it can be.

Our staff works diligently to ensure you have a breakfast with many options to choose from, and not the same thing every day. We are glad the bed was comfortable for you…we had upgraded many of our rooms with new models and fresh, crisp, new linens.
