Julie was a lovely host, and the booking process was very smooth, especially on short notice. The home was well-located and met our basic needs for the trip.For the price of over 530 per night with all fees, we felt the value wasn't quite there even with it located on Mercer Island. The house has a charming, older feel, but some areas, like one of the bedrooms and the office, had a noticeable musty smell, making them difficult to use.The kitchen and bathroom floors also need some attention. The grout is showing its age and could benefit from a deep cleaning or update. A few small additions, like lamps in all the bedrooms and hand towels and a bath mat in the bathroom, would make a big difference in comfort.Finally, we were surprised to find there was no key available for us to lock the house when we were out due to an unintentional oversight by someone who'd been in the home earlier the day we arrived. We hid our valuables and left the back door unlocked, but we did feel a little uneasy leaving it unsecured.Overall, it's a home with a great location and a kind host, but some updates and attention to detail would significantly improve the guest experience and justify the price.
