Dee was friendly and welcoming. The hotel has seen better days, it is a fixer upper at the moment. Reception smelled damp and could do with pot plants and flowers to brighten it up and make it smell welcoming. The room was a good size but it just seemed grubby, the surface wiring did not set a good standard, the bathroom was dated with surface wiring and pipework - not a good image. The photos on Hotels.com were from the hotel's heyday and very misleading as was the description. No breakfast even though it was in the invoice. No restaurant any more. Near bus and train terminus, but trains are diesel electric so vey loud in the room. The mattress was nice but the bases creaked. The smoking spot was right outside our room window so we had to keep the curtains closed. The hotel looks grand and imposing from the outside but it is very tired on the inside. Hotels.com need to get upddated descriptions or take it off.

It was cheap stay over but we ended up in a room with a bath that we was told didn’t work. The water stopped working and had to be fixed (the landlady was as quick as she could be to sort this out). The decor and furniture is old and uncomfortable however it is in the middle of a refurb (would have been nice to know this before I booked). The breakfast (that it states is in with the price) is non existent as the property has no kitchen. We would never stay here again.
Sleep at this hotel or in the car - choose the car
I hate leaving bad reviews but feel I have to.. what a dump, i would of been better sleeping in my car, my room was next to the main road so all night all I heard was sirens.. when the sirens stopped.. a train would go past. Room was full of damage and pillows were so thick my necks aching today. Windows were filthy and no blind in the bathroom.
Dont go!!
Holes in the ceiling, paint chipped, wallpaper ripped off the walls and thats just the reception.
Room lock looked like someone had tried to break in.
The bathtub, advertised as a jet tub, hadn't worked in over a year.
One of the sinks was cracked and cupboards had handles missing.
The bed was hard as a rock and the sheets smelt musky.
The bar and restaurant were both shut down years ago so no, there isnt breakfast included like advertised.
Went to a local shop to be told that the hotel is used as temporary accommodation for alcoholics and addicts.
I was there with my child. Thankfully only for one night.
Disgusting place.
Cannot understand why this hotel is still on your site. It advertises a bar, restaurant and breakfast included. It actually has none of these. A non manned reception area that has certainly seen better days. Peeling paint and tattered carpets.
Horrible, No lights in the room and later bought one bulb after request. Also bought a heater, otherwise.. No mat and bin in the toilet..Never go please
Absolutely awful experience ! Terrible cleanliness, and experience, so much so that I cancelled booking at reception as didn’t want to stay in such an untidy, unclean and in my opinion unsafe place
Also advised no restaurant!!
To say this place has been on four in a bed it must have been years and years ago. Nobody at reception, ring a bell and someone came down from an upstairs flat gave me a key and disappeared again. The room had damp and mold, smelt of smoke. Awful experience.
Didn't get the room I specifically booked. This one was smaller, more sparse & in very poor state of decoration. Whole place is very dated & tired. Not very clean.
Listing stated breakfast was included....no breakfast, apparently not done since Covid. Hotel is apparently under new management. Very disappointed. 2 photos below of the room booked & rest of the state of what we got.
The hotel gave the impression of dereliction not good.

Alright,
A bit worn down but we got a very large and pretty clean room with lots of floorspace, storage space and high sealings. It would probably look great again with a fresh lick of paint and some new carpets but not bad.
The on sweet bathroom was also big and had a large bath (I didn't have to bend my knees like I usually do).
It is situated right by the railway, so good for traveling by train if you don't mind the noise. It wasn't very loud and didn't disturb our sleep.
No breakfast is provided (thorough when booking it appeared to include it) so watch out for that and bring along your own drinks or food if you want them.
The bed was pretty comfortable and the lady who booked us in was pleasant.
I booked a B&B in a four-poster room, after I had checked in and paid, I was told that the restaurant had been closed for 3 years and there was no food.
The hotel smelt of stale tobacco smoke and when I saw the room I just walked out and am trying to get a refund now.
I would recommend the Hotels.com that they are removed from the Scunthorpe list, what a dreadful place
.
Really disappointed with the state of the hotel, very mucky feel to it, some of the walls were disgusting, marks on the quilt cover, no mention of breakfast even though it was paid for.
Overall I couldn't wait to leave the place.
