It's always nice finding a hotel with smoking rooms. Internet speeds were very good. A picture had fallen off the wall. Later, the towel rack fell off the wall, too. The bed was very uncomfortable. The three small pillows were very flat and firm. There were a couple of small spiders in the bathroom. The shower has old fashioned knobs. The water pressure was good, but the shower head was very low on the wall. There's only one, very small light in the bathroom, which made it gloomy. The shower curtain isn't curved, which makes the shower feel very cramped. The towels were small, thin, and scratchy. Very basic lodgings for people with low expectations. The pool looked big and nice, though I didn't use it.
this place is clean and inexpensive but aged. bedding was not comfortable. AC worked fine. Bathroom was clean but older. I stayed one night and moved to another hotel for more money. This is easy to locate and plenty of parking.
We are currently staying at Econo Lodge in Fort Payne AL we are in room 214 right beside the ice maker which means we had no rest after a long day yesterday. The ice maker was being used all night long and even into this morning . Thought we would rest in before we head out today on Aug 4 but that isn't happening . Also we had drinks to put in the fridge so stay cold and the fridge was froze up so it want cool it is completely iced over inside the freezer . So if you stay at the Econo and want rest then room 214 isn't the room .
I have had good luck with Econo Lodge recently, here not so much. At registration both counter persons working on problem with someone, for 5 minutes before acknowledging me. Got to room and awful smell from deodorizer or cleaning or something. Also AC was off so it was HOT!! Went to use the small table and it was covered with syrup or something. Bath is a relic from the 60's. Toilet seat loose and broken. The shampoo tube was half full (new way of recycling?). Next morning went to make coffee, a huge chunk of ONION was in the water reservoir!!!! Breakfast, cereal but no bowls, juice machine not working. Quality is not a priority here.
Stayed for the night passing through. The floors were dirty. There were dead insects around the HVAC unit. The bed was not level. Staff was scarce but friendly. It did the job, but I won't stay there again.
Our room was not clean. Bathroom had fecal matter on the wall, bedspread had stains, minifridge was dirty. I booked my room over the internet and after driving 10 hours I was exhausted. Heat didn't work so I slept with my coat over me. Staff kept charging my debit card constantly.
My wife and I stayed here a couple years ago and it was OK. We stayed again for two days this week and it has gone downhill. The wood roach in the bathtub wasn't happy. The fly we couldn't catch wasn't happy. The walls were so thin that we heard normal conversation of the people next door that weren't happy with a remote that wouldn't work. The beds squawked, not squeaked, and the pillows were deflated. Lady at the desk and breakfast room (same person) was real nice. They didn't even make the room up after our first nights stay and we didn't have toilet paper. So, it is a step up from camping because the TV and shower both worked quite well. It is located near good food and the freeway.
We checked in after dark and we had been on the road all day. The man at the desk was friendly and very helpful getting us rooms and parking like we wanted. Rooms have Been redone recently and are very Nice & comfy. It was very good.
The person working the desk was very friendly. Check-in didn't take long at all. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. It's a pet-friendly hotel, which was very important since I had my dog with me. The man at the desk didn't charge the extra fee that they usually charge for pets. Very nice.
The room had two queen beds. We were near the pool. It was a pet room so no carpet. The motel gave us a great rate and we stayed for 4 days. The staff was very nice. Some of the guest were not but nothing you can do about some people.
