One night stay mid June. Made very welcome by fantastic host, laughing and joking along with us all. Evening meal lovely and breakfast was superb. Room was spotless. If the opportunity presents itself again would without hesitation stay here.
Caddon View is a comfortable hotel and the owners are very welcoming indeed. Our room was delightful and the food was excellent; we had dinner and breakfast and both meals were of a very high standard. We would recommend Caddon View unreservedly.
A one night stopover. Host Steve very pleasant and attentive and made us welcome with tea and scones in the Study on arrival. Cosy spotless room, comfortable bed, excellent breakfast - loved those sausages. Off street parking good. Dining room closed on Sunday evenings so we used the local Indian restaurant. Not bad.
We stayed here only one night with a group cycling from Newcastle to Edinburgh. The owners couldn't have been more helpful storing our bikes and settling us in. The hotel is a gracious carefully ( and recently I guess) converted doctor's residence and surgery. Decor is sympathetic and comfortable in large rooms. Warm and spotlessly clean. A decent selection of cooked to order breakfasts are on offer and the staff were pleased to accommodate any variation requests. Nice locally sourced sausages! Sadly we were there the only night that an evening meal isn't on offer - Monday. I'll definitely go back - longer next time.
The drive takes you thru winding country roads with pleasant scenery, beware of the trucks. The Guest house is very nice, on the main road so fairly easy to find and easy to walk to town - only steps away. The room was spacious, the bathroom was modern and very clean, with the best bath-tub in Scotland. Some of the furniture had not faired well with the previous guests, and the bed was a little soft for my liking. I liked how the room did contain information on the history of the house. It was nice and quiet, and breakfast was delicious we especially liked the stornoway pudding.
First impressions of Caddon View was lovely very well kept gardens and spacious parking. We were greeted by Steve who was very welcoming even though he was going through a family problem and he was left single handed, we were shown upstairs to our supervisor room the Moorfoot which was a generous size with sofa and tv, kettle, condiments, small en-suite fine for two, lovely decorated throughout. Had a lovely meal in the dining room was a fixed starter and main course, first time tasting roe deer, pheasant and duck was not disappointed, all locally sourced. Steve you are a fantastic chef, we admire your professionalism as you were left all alone to cater for everyone, brilliant job and I bet your shattered today. Hope everything goes well for you and your family. Definitely will be back to visit.
The building is very well kept both inside & out with beautiful original doors, cornices, soft furnishings and decor & the sitting room is particularly inviting with the wood burning fire. Our Deluxe Room & en-suite was spacious and very comfortable. Please book your food in advance to avoid disappointment. We only booked (using a hotel booking company) the day before and had an early start and were unaware we had to prebook the evening meal and you don't get the cake and cuppa on arrival when using one of the agents, so book directly. Breakfast, great selection and well prepared.
Quick overnight to Innerleithen for mountain biking and booked Caddon View last minute. Warmly welcomed, lovely and warm, beautiful decor and very clean, large, warm and welcoming room. House is in a great location, easy walk to Main St in Innerleithen. They offer dinner as well but we had eaten on our way over.
This is the second time I have stayed at Caddon View. The first time was with a friend, who I was MTBing with, and we stayed it in the twin bedded room. In short it was excellent. My visit this time was a little different as I went with my wife and 4 other friends, with us all staying in the Superior en suite rooms. This time my stay was an even better experience than my previous one. The guesthouse is superbly finished with all the modern facilities like Free wifi, televisions and excellent tea and coffee facilities in the rooms. The rooms are clean, comfortable and maintained to a high standard, as are the en suites. It is abundantly clear that Steve and Lisa work tirelessly to ensure everything is to highest standard possible. Furthermore, the welcoming afforded to us by Steve was brilliant. As we had travelled from Yorkshire to get there, Steve waited up for us (even though we had been severely delayed in traffic) and went above and beyond to ensure that we felt relaxed and de-stressed as quickly as possible. Breakfast on both of my visits was outstanding. There is a range to choose from and the food not only looks great but tastes great. My wife, friends and I were amazed at how filling and tasty the breakfast was. On my first visit I opted not to stay for the evening meal as I was unsure what time I would be back from riding. This time though, based on the strength of the breakfast, I arranged for all in my party to eat at Cadddon View. This decision was most definitely the correct one. Again, Steve and Lisa went the extra mile to ensure all the needs of our group were catered for. The wine was excellent, the ambiance in the dinning room was perfect and each course of the meal was a heavenly delight. It was fabulous. After our meal we relaxed in the drawing room, where Steve had the earlier set the fire going in preparation for us, and enjoyed more wine, port and beer. It was here that Steve and Lisa really showcased there excellent hosting skills. Overall Caddon View is charming and delightful guesthouse run by two people who are clearly passionate about what they do. No stone is left unturned by Steve, Lisa and their staff to ensure that all guests have a positive and outstanding experience. Caddon View is brilliant, simply brilliant and I look forward to staying there again.
Stayed a night with my Partner and daughter, 1 double, 1 single. Rooms were immaculate. Flask of fresh milk for the room tea/coffee. Owner sincerely interested. Quiet, clean warm. Breakfast good. All in all, excellent. Thanks
