"Rooms were nice and big, I had a fab view across the water. Little dated and could do with a minor revamp, but that’s fine. Staff were nice in the hotel.
Breakfast was very nice and good for the price (although dining room was a bit difficult to find)
Service was slow in the bar area for evening meal, didn’t feel overly welcoming. Food was nice but they made a mistake with a nut allergy that I declared. This was handled really well by the manager - he was apologetic, handled it with the kitchen staff, and replaced & comped our meal. I was absolutely fine and I’m pleased with how it was managed in the end, but more attention needs to be given in the kitchen to stuff like this.
Location was good, easy for us to walk to and from to get to everywhere we wanted to in York. "
