A friend and I had the opportunity to stay at Loucas Hotel for 4 nights. Upon arrival we had the hotel arrange transportation from the new port to the hotel. The driver was very nice and courteous. We then met with one of the members of the staff and he escorted us to the hotel. Our first impressions were very good and check-in was a breeze. We stayed in room 13 and I cannot express how incredible the view is from that room and its private balcony. The room had a modern take on Cycladic architecture which is what Santorini is known for. The only aspect of this hotel that I could see being an issue for some is the amount stairs to the rooms. I could see it being an issue for individuals or families with mobility issues, strollers or wheel chairs. Also the pool was shut down for service during the duration of our stay which was a bummer because the weather was amazing while we were there. Overall, the staff answered any questions we had, the room was great, view was amazing and I would stay here again.
I booked a tour in Crete for two days and one night in Santorini. When you book the tour the travel agent cannot guarantee what hotel you are given and let you know within 24 hours of booking. When I was told the name of the hotel I obviously checked TA. The reviews were horrific. And personally for me if I could I would have cancelled but it wasn't possible to change the hotel. So we came and I was really surprised at how wrong the reviews were. Maybe as we only had one night we didn't run into many issues? But the location, staff and room with stunning views were spot on. It's perfect for views, the steps and incline are hard work so pack light and prepare your calfs!! The guy who helps with the luggage is a machine. He deserves a raise. The rooms have air-conditioning, a fridge, beautiful views and zero sound proofing from noise neighbours. Be warned. Definitely pack a hair dryer as theirs is circa 1920. Good mirrors, lots of lighting and sockets. Avoid breakfast - it is horrible even the juice and coffee. Not worth going down for it at all. Views and pool beautiful.
Tired old hotel in disrepair and not what was advertised! The jacuzzi tub did not work and they never attempted to fix it when we told them about it. The tv did not work at all. I could never get internet anywhere in the room or in their immediate area. A loud nightclub next door will keep you awake until 4 am. Also, they give you one bath towel - no hand towels. The free breakfast is disgusting with cold food and undercooked scrambled eggs. One day we went to the pool and there were no cushions on the patio furniture. The view is beautiful but the hotel is not!
There is a lot of stairs, but it is common in Santorini. The restaurant was good and the waiter was very nice. The pool was so nice and are included! With jacuzzi and a great view of the Vulcano Caldeira.
DO NOT STAY HERE. If you are in doubt, just look at the attached photos. This place is so far from what is advertised that it constitutes a bait and switch scam. Hotel management claimed that the photos on the website were authentic and of our exact room that we had booked online. However, management later had no choice but to admit they were wrong, they assured us a refund would be issued for our trouble but then later claimed that they were unable to. There were multiple guests complaining at the lobby upon our arrival. The hotel attempted to move us to two different hotels worse than the Loucas. After talking to others in Fira, it became apparent that this hotel is notorious for ruining vacations for hotel guests. We wasted hours of our trip trying to find an alternative accommodations, save yourself the stress and avoid this hotel. I don't know how this place could receive such high ratings from others but I wouldn't take the chance, just look at the photos. The room was so disgusting we did not even want to touch anything from the blood stain on the sheets to the mould in the tiny "tub/shower."
This is a traditional Santorini hotel with rooms carved out of the hillside so windows / doors only facing the incredibly beautiful caldera and island. The scenery is spectacular! Cruise ship and boats in and out only added to the charm. The main drawbacks are that there were 134 steps up from my room to the lobby and another 16 to the road way; wifi only in the lobby (so effectively no outside communications) and the restaurent was so-so and about 100 steps up from my room. With no elevator it provided more exercise than I'd planned on and little interest in heading into the village once I'd got to my room. But the views were unbeatable. The front desk staff were also very variable and not 'professional'. The rooms themselves were ok, spartan and clean, but felt stuffy especially early in the morning. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with allergies or sinus trouble.
While the views from the room were amazing and one of the young girls at reception was sweet, there is nothing else positive I can say. The room was poorly cleaned with cement sand on the top of the bed and in the powerpoints; there was no wi-fi in the room, only in the small reception area; there was poor water pressure in the open cement shower and it sometimes just stopped; TV connection was understandably poor; breakfast was inedible - the scrambled eggs were poorly made, wet, and cold together with any other food that was supposed to be hot; the orange juice tasted like really sweet cordial while the apple juice smelt like vinegar; we paid for a breakfast we could not eat; they forgot the transfer I had booked the day before and did a last minute ring-around when I went to check. Make sure you give the man who helps with the suitcases an adeqiate tip or he will abuse you. Don't want to go back.
Hotel's location is at a great spot just five minutes on foot from Thira center. The room was amazing with a great caldera view, cozy and relaxing. Staff was really helpful and pleasant. we really enjoyed our stay there!
I have been at loucas hotel for a couple of days together with my fiancé! We stayed in a very beautiful suite with a super fantastic view! We got oriented to the hotel and the services by the general manager of Loucas hotel ( Alexandros Zafeiropoulos) who was top professional and committed ! Thank you very much for a lovely stay Mr Alexandros and hopefully see you soon!
This hotel has a great location in Fira with stunning views and sunsets. Having said that, if you struggle with bad knees avoid it at all costs due to amount of stairs. The hotel is also a little back from the shuttle drop off point which can make carry luggage a challenge over the cobble streets to the hotel entrance. The hotel is expensive for what you get and expect, especially in comparison to its more famous neighbour of Mykonos. Although the the hotel was central, I was concerned with security as non-hotel guests could come down and perch themselves on your balcony anytime they wanted. The rooms are best described as very average to the point of being shabby. The beds are very hard, with no additional towels or pillows. There is no guest book with directory information and the phone did not even have a reception number on it for any questions. The hot water is limited and you have to turn it on 15 minutes before you need to shower. The towels were well worn and the size of a floor mat. The breakfast was basic, with most times running out of dishes ( I use that term loosely ) extremely early. Having said that, the restaurant staff were very hospitable and friendly going out of their way to make you welcome, unlike the receptionist at checkin.
