From the moment we arrive our hosts made us feel at home. Offering a great insight on where and how to get around the island. Breakfast on our balcony was a fresh and delicious. The location of Sunny Villas is ideal with the sunset view spectacular and an easy walk down to Thira (you can catch the bus back if you don't like walking up hill) is spectacular. A very enjoyable holiday that I highly reccomend
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Sunny Villas!! Irini, Timmy and the staff were so helpful and kind in making restaurant recommendations and reservations for us as well as making us feel welcome! We stayed in a studio - breakfast was delivered to us on the balcony each morning and we had a perfect view of the sunset from our private balcony! Sunny Villas is located right near Skaros Rock which was one of my favorite activities in Santorini. It's an easy hike - we did it once during the day (the views are spectacular - check out the church hidden in the back) and once during sunset (definitely recommend doing this - you can pack food/wine!). I loved staying in Imerovigli as it was quieter than Fira and Oia yet you are just steps away from restaurants. You are a short walk away from Fira (maybe 25 minutes) and a hike (about 2.5 hours) away from Oia. It is a bit of a trek to Oia but the breeze and views made it worthwhile! There is also a bus that is super affordable/clean that you can take to the different villages and a supermarket near by in case you want to stock up on water/wine/snacks. Thank you Sunny Villas and staff for making our stay so wonderful!!
The breakfast is nice and we can take breakfast in our private balcony and the balcony have a amazing view of the volcano and hot spring. We can also have a amazing look of the sunset and both Oia and Fira. Only 25 minutes is required to walk to the city center. The staff is helpful, friendly and polite. There is a great swimming pool and a bar next to it. There is a plenty choice of restaurants within 5 minutes walk from your room. The room is in the cave. You could take a local bus in the entrance of the village and it can go to both Fira and Oia (just not to take the wrong bus). Below is the view from the balcony and the swimming pool
After stumbling upon this place online, we read the fantastic reviews on TA and booked. We were not disappointed ! Booked direct and dealt directly with the hotel. As it was our 20th Wedding Anniversary, I emailed to ask about arranging some wine in the room, they took care of this without cost to me !. They organised our transfers, and met us at the top of the hill to carry our luggage. Unfortunately, our room was not ready on the first night, so we were upgraded to another suite in the Altana, which was simply stunning. Our room was ready at noon the next day and we were not disappointed We had a cave room, that was lovely and cool even during the hottest days. We didn't even use the Air con at night (even though it had been 100+ in the day) The rooms give you a perfect view of the sunset, no need to go out to watch it . Hotel staff could not do enough for you, from the breakfast delivery to the balcony, to the barman buying you a beer ! Had an issue as our case got damaged in the airport, but they supplied tape and cling film to ensure we could use the case to travel home. Perfect destination, and will definitely come back to stay. Room 115 is the best as its directly over the pool, and more private than the rooms next to the walkways.
We stayed here for five nights in a perfect cave room just above the pool. The accommodation was perfectly clean. The room is cleaned daily. The hotel has 14 rooms and all are designed to enjoy privacy. It has the best view to watch the sun set over the caldera. The breakfast was served on the terrAce and included everything that one could wish for. The pool bar plays cool music and serves great drinks. The staff is great, they provide you with good information and are happy to help you planing your day. Every recommendation that they gave us was a huge success. On the last night we got a free upgrade for a room with a private jacuzzi, which was amazing too. If we ever go to santorin again this is where we stay!
This was our first visit to Santorini and although we expected the beautiful views, food, and activities, we did not expect to find such attentive and caring people. We travel a lot and we've been all over Europe and even mainland Greece but the staff at Hotel Sunny Villas was the most caring and accommodating we have ever encountered. The resort itself is incredible. My wife and I stayed in Room 101 with our two kids. The unit had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchenette, dining area, and living room. Excellent AC. All features were beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The most-used part of our room was our balcony. We started and ended our day here, having breakfast on it in the mornings (delivered within 5 minutes of a call from our room) and watching the most stunning sunset in the evenings. The pool was beautiful and cool for the summer heat. The bar was constantly manned by one of the nicest bar tenders Angulos who took pride in his service but was also very personable and conversational. Angulos was one of the amazing team that made the stay so memorable and enjoyable. Irenia and Timmy who ran the front desk were absolutely unreal. Kind at all times and made things too easy. Need a reservation with no notice (difficult scenario in Santorini)? Timmy will call a friend and get you the best seat in the the best restaurant. Spill a bottle of wine on your floor? Timmy refuses to give you a mop and sends you away to dinner and genuinely shows concern that you might be late. There were others working at the hotel and I wish I could remember all of their names but they were all amazing. We are leaving to Naxos today and Mykonos after that but we are very sad to leave our new found friends and the best pampering we've experienced in years. Without hesitation, I recommend Hotel Sunny Villas as highly as I can. The price is great, the views are breathtaking, and the service is second to none.
Stayed here in 2013 Sept for 4 nights. View from here will just blow your mind. Enjoyed breakfast with view every morning. Got free room upgrades. View was pretty much the same from all hotels next to it.
We had the absolute best time staying here. Imerovigli is a great spot that's away from the hustle and bustle of the other touristy spots but it's still close enough that you can walk to Fira for dinner. We arrived later in the evening on our first night and were taken through everything we needed to know so we were set up for a great stay. Timmy at Sunny Villas is an absolute asset to the hotel. He made everything so easy, provided heaps of great recommendations and is just an all round great guy. The breakfast each morning on your private balcony is pretty epic and the pool and pool bar facilities were great too. Wifi doesn't work that well in the room as you're in a cave so we just sat out on our private balcony in the evening with a glass of wine to connect up.
My partner and I recently stayed at Hotel Sunny Villas for 7 nights in June. The hotel itself was perfect for us, we wanted to stay somewhere that was a little quieter than the main towns of Oia and Fira and ended up staying in Imerovigli which in our opinion have the best views for the famous sunsets whilst avoiding the crowds!! The transport links to Oia and Fira were great so we always had the option to go to either town via bus (if we didn't fancy the walk- about 30 mins to Fira and 2.5 hours to Oia). The staff provided all of the information we needed about getting around the island which was really useful. We stayed in a superior room which was well decorated, clean, modern and felt authentic as it was built into a cave, the rooms had everything that we needed including a good sized fridge to keep our drinks in. Our favourite part about the superior room was the balcony, the balconies are private enough to enjoy a drink and watch the sunset or eat your breakfast which is promptly delivered upon request. We were upgraded to another room for the last two nights of our stay which was just another way in which we felt the staff really went above and beyond and personalised the service they offered to us as guests. We could not fault the service offered and it was great to feel like a valued guest rather than just another number. As soon as we arrived at the hotel the staff offered advice on varying elements including transport links, the nearest supermarket, the best restaurants and the best trips. They helped us book restaurants that we had already planned to visit (Athenian House) as well as one that they recommended (Mezzo). They organised a boat trip for us (which was a brilliant trip that I would highly recommend) and helped us order some food from a local restaurant for delivery to our balcony one night. Once again I would say that every member of staff at the hotel provided a personalised and friendly service which enhanced our experience of Santorini.
Arriving here is the kind of "wow" moment you dream about. The view is just incredible and you can watch the sunset from your own balcony. Your room is a "cave" with limited wifi coverage, but who cares as you will want to sit outside to take in the gorgeous views anyway. We arrived hungry in the evening and didn't want to miss the sunset, so the friendly receptionist brought us some take-away menus and the food was delivered in a heartbeat giving us an unforgettable evening in Santorini. Similarly, breakfast is delivered to your room in the morning, giving you a perfect start to the day. Note that some rooms have a walkway right in front of their balcony, but to be honest there are very few places in Santorini with complete privacy - and they don't come at these prices. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.
