We just got back from this resort and the location is great with several walkable restaurants. Hotel was clean but very plain in the rooms. You have to put a deposit down for pool towels which I've never heard of in a 5 star resort. People at the front desk were not overly friendly as most of the people in Greece were and NO service at the pool for food or drinks. Breakfast was average
I cannot say enough good things about this place. First of all very new, very clean, very friendly people here. We LOVED that it was on the beach side of the island and we love the restaurant/shopping area next to it! The staff and service were amazing. We went to the fitness center and to the spa here and loved it as well. In other reviews I see that the airplanes flying overhead were the only negative and I don't even see this as a negative it happens like 5 times a day AND bonus that the airport is so close, just saying. We took ATVs to the other side of the island (not far at all) and we loved getting to explore the island while also staying on the beach side! HIGHLY recommend this place! Also we stayed in a room with a king size bed and bonus there was also 2 twin beds upstairs in our room so we could have had 4 people stay in the room.
I spent a week in Mykonos in a 5* hotel before travelling to Santorini for a second week in another 5* hotel. This hotel looks lovely with many small pools and courtyards but the rooms are more basic than a Travelodge. I have a lovely little terrace and pool facing on to the sea but the staff here are abrupt, reception staff give minimum information delivered in a bored tone then I was, basically, dumping my room. Complimentary water is only on arrrival, 5*? A €10 deposit is required for a beach towel and, to be quite honest, they are so thin you can almost see through them, again, more 3* than anything. The room I have, which cost €500 a night, is small, bathroom can only be described as concrete and basic, and not even a box of tissues provided. But, the aeroplanes overhead are terrible. I was not aware of this when I booked it and did not have a chance to google reviews as I booked quite late and the full cost had to be paid on booking. I can honestly say this is horrid and I have a rep coming to see me tomorrow, no one available today, to see about moving to another hotel. I even considered cutting m6 holiday short and just booking a flight home. How sad is that? The housekeeping staff have been polite but reception staff and bar/restaurant staff obviously have better things to do than be nice to guests. I have posted many reviews and, if you check, I really enjoy the places I visit, but this is a total negative for me and has totally soured my impression of Santorini.
We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and we enjoyed every minute of it. Great hotel, great service, many pools and beds always available. The view is also amazing. The planes didn't bother us and it stops at night, it's actually entertaining during the day. Everything was perfect!
Perfect wow supernice hotel in any way! Great combination of greek and international design, calm with a chill and luxury feeling. The beach is just five steps down, several pool-areas, great breakfast! I would give them a five-star if they fixed up they beach a little and moved the airport, the planes are really loud and so close!
My honey and I traveled to Greece and stood at the Costa Grand Resort & Spa in Santorini. Everything was just perfect and beautiful. Hotel is right on the beach along a long strip of restaurants serving delicious food. thank you Christian for the amazing Galaxy shots and the mojitos. Loved everything about the trip.
We have just returned from a week's b&b stay at the Costa grande booked through Thomas Cook we arrived late on a evening so was hard to see the hotel properly until the morning. The Hotel is directly on Kamari beach with is really nice looking out to sea the pool areas are all very clean and tidy and the hotel grounds are also very well kept. Our room was pretty small and although we was told upon booking we would have a double bed we still had 2 singles pushed together! Also the emergency lighting in the room with the rooms been very small and painted in brilliant white the light shines very bright all through the night lighting the room up. Most of the staff at the hotel are very polite and respectful especially stelios at the main bar area always very friendly and approachable. The breakfast was a let down for us we have stayed at many 5star hotels in the past and we found the breakfast to be disappointing the boiled eggs was flat cold also no fresh ommelette station which we was quite surprised about one morning we asked a member of the breakfast staff if it was possible for the chef to make us a fresh ommelette for breakfast only to get a response like "I don't think so but why don't I go ask the chef myself" .... Just the response you expect from a member of staff at a 5 star hotel??. All in all I wouldn't say it was a 5 star hotel maybe a average 4 star hotel at the most ,I would come back to Santorini but maybe try another hotel.
Hotel is located on Kamari Beach which I think is the best location on the island. It’s nice to visit Oia etc but this is the best place to stay. The hotel is new so it is extremely clean. The hotel is st the end of the town which I think is good because there is a huge nightlife along the beach and I’m sure it’s noisy late. Unfortunately the hotel is also closest to the airport and directly in the flight path. Planes come very low & loud. Flights were as early as 6am and as late as midnight. Although they claim this is a five star resort, it definitely isn’t. I would say it is nicer that most at Kamari beach. There were definitely a lot of amenities lacking and service was not the best. We had 2 rooms. One basic and a suite/studio which had the bed up in a loft like setting. They do have air conditioning but, only a small wall type on the downstairs area-upstairs is hot & stuffy to sleep in. I requested a fan for upstairs and was told they would put one upstairs and it never showed up. You can not drink the tap water anywhere on the island and they only gave us 1L bottle of water for all four days. They have nice robes in the room. Furniture seems pretty cheap like ikea. There is a blue-green safety light in the room over the door. Since the room is all white, the light reflects a lot and is too bright st night. You have to pay 10euro to get a towel to use at the pool. Breakfast buffet had many choices but not great quality. Would rather have a small menu to pick fresh items from. Our room was downstairs and there was no privacy on our balcony. It had a open area and I did not like leaving our clothes out to dry or leave our door open at all. Front desk said they would move our room after our first night but that never happened. The Restaraunt food during the day and evening was pretty good and reasonably priced. They have several pools which is very nice because it was never crowded. There are lounge chairs with umbrellas on their area of the beach but they do not serve food or drinks there and you are not allowed to even bring a cup of coffee down with you on the beach because they do not pay the tax required. They will only give you one room key that you have to put into a slot for any power to be on in the room. So if you leave your room you can not charge any devices or have air conditioning on to keep your room cool. It’s a nice place but not five star.
Casa Grande Resort and Spa is the only true 5-star on Kamari Beach. Upon check-in we were upgraded to a room with a private pool that was steps from the Aegean Sea. The property is situated on the Northern end of Kamari Beach which is away from the hustle and bustle, but still short walk to the shops and restaurants. The complimentary breakfast was fully stocked and was a perfect way to start the day. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. My wife especially like waking up to the Santorini Sunrises.
This hotel is absolutely amazing. Very clean, friendly staff and great location. We stayed for a long weekend and loved every minute of it. Our room got upgraded when we checked it which was a nice surprise. I will definitely go back and stay at this same hotel.
