Hello, We passed 4 nights at Azalea hotel. It is nice, small and very clean hotel. The chamber maid was cleaning the rooms every day and the sheets were changed every single day. Very nice staff, there is a family owned hotel, with several 2-3 flours buildings in the special white and blue colours. The rooms have a kitchenette for those who want to do there meal, air-conditioner is very special - starts working when all windows and windows are closed, super functional. There is a small bar beside the pool outdoor that offers breakfast and dinner. The beach is very near - 5 mins or less walk, with goblets. There is a bar on the beach with food and drinks, so no need to search far away. The bus stop for Fira (Thira) is near by too, the supermarket is 2 minutes walk. The only inconvenient is that the hotel is too close to the airport and the planes pass just over the hotel. It is very noisy. I liked the hospitality of all the staff, very smiley and nice people, clean and generous. I recommend the hotel if you don't care of the planes passing. Good luck.
Just returned home from a 5 day stay at Azalea apartments in Kamari Santorini. It was a break spent with my twin and we both thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Although some building work was still being carried out in the hotel grounds, our recently refurbished double premier room was beautiful. Clean and bright with a comfortable bed and beautifully decorated in the local Santorini style. The maid service was excellent. Our room was tidied everyday, with us retuning to fresh towels and bed linen. Our premium room included breakfast which we could enjoy in the hotel lobby or on our balcony overlooking the beautiful views of the mountains and the ocean. The breakfast included a selection of teas, filter coffee, bread with butter, eggs, homemade cake/pastries, ham, cheese and crackers. Honey, marmalade and jam were also included, the honey was very yummy with the bread and cheese! Overall, the breakfast was delicious and set us up perfectly for our excursions around the island. We recommend the ancient site of Akrotiri (the Pompeii of the Aegean). The volcano and Thirasia boat trip (walking shoes are a must for this one!) And the beautiful sunset at Oia, one of the most beautiful in the world. We didn't get a chance to use the hotel pool (with all our exploring), but it looked clean and well maintained with ample sun loungers and parasols. The beach was a short stroll away from the apartments and Kamari village was about 15 mins away on foot. We would like to thank the friendly staff at Azalea apartments for making our stay a pleasurable, comfortable and memorable one. It was fantastic to chat about the ancient site of Akrotiri and its inhabitants with people actually born and raised on the island. So thank you once again Azalea apartments and we hope to be back with you very soon. ευχαριστώ και τα λέμε σύντομα!!!!! Lots of love Clare and Kerry - the twins from the UK! xxx
Three building property located at the edge of Kamari (not easy to find without GPS), 100 m from a gravel beach. Walk to the centre of the resort (and a busstop) takes approx. 10-15 minutes. Close proximity of a runway threshold initially made us worry about the noise. Flights are quite frequent but you may sleep calm - provided that haven't forgotten to close all windows. The buildings are very close one to another, so (in case of some appartments) standing on the small balcony you can shake hands with your neighbour opposite. Appartments are spacious enough, the furnishing is simple, but looks tidy. Kitchenware should be regarded as rather basic, but sufficient to prepare simple meals. The apartments are spotlessly clean and well maintained (cleaning service on a daily basis). Some of them have a sea view. Nice place for Santorini holidays - with very good price to value relation.
Azalea apartments and studios is a family business, very polite people who cares a lot about the foreigners who come to Santorini and with low price rooms, clean and with lot of space, while every day they were coming to clean it!!! There is also a nice pool, but we didn't use it because we prefer the beautiful beaches of the island!!! The airport is near with lot of noise of the planes, but wherever you are in Kamari you hear them, you cannot avoid it anyway. The owners adviced us so many things to do in Santorini and they informed us about the bus timetable while the last day they brought us a taxi driver for getting us to the port. Such a lovely trip to such a beautiful island, unfortunately only for few days but definetely we will come back!!!
Me and my partner stayed here on the 26th aug for a week. We booked 3 weeks in advance as a last minute trip. We were apprehensive about what the apartments were going to be like and kamari resort in general; as we had stayed in Fira on the Caldera before with the stunning views!!!.. Wow I must say the apartments you couldn't fault for how clean they were kept and we stepped outside our room to the pool" perfect ". It is a slight walk into the main kamari centre (5 mins)but it was nice to 'be just out of all the action.many t avernas and bars; and a bus to the rest of island every 20 mins. Great all round resort and great apartments we will return again.
We were a bit skeptical because it was relatively cheap and close to the airport. But we were very happy with the stay. Friendly staff helped us with the suitcases. Rooms were relatively small but big enough for us two. Everything was clean and nice. It was a relatively large pool there with sunbeds, didn't use - but looked OK. Location was fine, 10 minutes walk to Kamari beach with shops and restaurants. Was skeptical to airport noise, but didn't bother us at all. Got some nice plane photos' though!
They don't know how to clean towels properly. changed to the clean one and they were with mascara and other things on it. When we asked to changed it lady said - tomorow! After big fight they changed it to better ones. Tv shows just one channel. It's a last house to the airport. First flight over your roof will be at 3:30... just in case you would like to now ;)
we chose these apartments for part of our trip to Santorini and we were really pleased, we were initially a bit 'skeptical but over time both staff and the services available and the cleanliness of the room were really good, and price very cheap
Stayed in Santorini mid-August this year in the resort of Kamari. Kamari is very close to the airport, so you do get the noise of planes going over. However, I found this quite a spectacle to see the planes at such low heights, and despite the occasional late night and early morning flight arrival, it didn’t bother me that much. On arriving at Santorini airport it appeared there had been a power cut, although it wasn’t apparent until we arrived at Azalea and were advised by Kiki (the owner), that this had in fact hit the entire island. Unfortunately due to this it had not been possible for the staff to get everything ready for our room. However, Kiki had kindly arranged a night’s stay at an apartment across the road. Kiki walked over to the apartments with us and ensured we were introduced to the owner and we were shown to our room. By this point my girlfriend and I were pretty tired and decided to get some sleep, wondering what the next day would have in store. The following day we returned to Azalea, and Kiki offered us several choices of room due to us being ‘put through hell.’ We decided on a studio which was in fact bigger than the one we had booked and finally settled in. The room was just round from the pool on the ground floor. It was basic, but very clean. For the next couple of days the electricity was intermittent, but it was enough for the morning and the evening when we needed it most. Kiki and her staff made sure there were lanterns all around the grounds to provide light at night, and provided a few tea lights to each room for additional light. This was a really thoughtful touch. By the last few days of our stay, the power was back everywhere. The rooms - as said before, basic but very clean, and cleaned on a daily basis. Each room has a veranda/balcony with patio furniture to sit and enjoy the sun. Also a nice place to sit and have a drink after an evening out in the town. The pool – plenty of sun loungers, really clean and often very quiet. We spent a lot of time relaxing here in the sun. The staff – so very helpful with everything. On the day we left, we were free to use the pool area and the toilet and shower facilities next to reception. This made our last day much more relaxed and comfortable; as our flight wasn’t until 9pm. Kiki also ordered us a taxi to the airport for our flight home. These are great apartments and are kept exceptionally clean. They are fairly basic, but beds were very comfortable. Overall we had a really relaxing holiday. Massive thank you to Kiki and her staff who made our stay so enjoyable!
We stayed there in these apt a few years and they were lovely there were not many people in them we had pool mostly to our selfs but the view we had was lovely and there rooms were nice and clean and the family were so friendly we would go again anytime
