I booked the superior room, and had emailed the hotel regarding the fact that my husband is 6’5 and needed to make sure he would fit since I know that the hotels with a view of the Caladria tend to be a little older and small. I also asked if its not to let me know so I am able to find another hotel that would fit our requirements. Well in the email responses Christina made it seem like it wouldn’t be an issue at all. Well we got into our room last night and I have to say the shower was a 2x3 ft area.... see pics. The bed was extremely tiny, I’m guessing it’s a wide lens camera that they use when taking photos for the website... because man it’s tiny and claustrophobic. I spoke to Julia, who btw is really nice, said the only other option is the downgraded room without a view but that they wouldn’t credit me for the additional fee I paid for the superior room. I was ok with the downgraded room but they should credit me for what I am not using. Oh and you may want to know that they have a “safety light that is in front of your bed.... I have attached pics of what it looks like even with a thick towel covering it.... um good luck trying to sleep with that shinning in your eyes. I really think that they are doing their best but I wish the photos were more accurate. Especially considering the fact that I emailed them my concerns prior to booking ... Not good karma to do this to people and ruin their vacation.
We have booked this hotel for 5 nights and we are on our second night and it has been amazing. Friendly staff brilliant position and very clean. They advertise free breakfast on-site that was also beautiful. Will definitely be going home and recommending this hotel.
We stayed in the hotels two bedroom family villa which is a five minute walk from the main hotel. At our request the hotel arranged to collect us from the airport and take us to the villa. To our surprise despite it being close to midnight on arrival there was Christina from the hotel to greet us and show us around the villa and a lovely man called Anestis to take our luggage down to the villa. We had gone to Santorini to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and this villa was an absolute treat. Our daughter stopped the whole week with us and our son and his fiancé were able to join us for a couple of days at the last minute thanks to the accommodating nature of the hotel staff. The villa was clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. The rooftop patio area with the jacuzzi was a total sun trap and a great viewing area for the fantastic sunsets. The hotel staff we came into contact with were Christina and Julia who were so helpful and always smiling and a total credit to the business. A special mention has to go to Anestis who prepared and delivered our wonderful breakfasts every day. He then went about cleaning the villa everyday but was so unobtrusive throughout that you hardly knew he was there - the man was a gem. Our only slight criticism was that the covering on the settee was probably due for recovering but in the grand scheme of things this is a minor thing. We had a wonderful holiday and without a doubt this lovely villa and Christina, Julia and Anestis all contributed to this. Highly recommend this two bedroom Villa.
Yes, its a smaller hotel, but the views are great since it sits right on the caldera. Breakfast in the cafe was always a fun start to the day since the cafe has such a great view as well. We would sometimes come back to the cafe at night just have a drink or a crepe because it was so cozy and nice. Lots of non-hotel guests would show up every morning at the cafe for there a la carte breakfast. Hotel guests order their own free breakfast from a different menu. The food from this menu was plentiful and came with juice plus either coffee or tea. The hotel is a good 10 minute walk from Fira, but we enjoyed the quiet that this location offered. We highly recommend!
My husband, daughter and I stayed three nights in the Galini Hotel's family villa. We had an unbelievable time! The view is absolutely spectacular and the villa was extremely comfortable and spacious for the three of us. Julia was very welcoming and always ready to answer our numerous questions. Our scrumptious breakfast was delivered to us each morning by a a delightful gentleman (Anestes?) who was full of energy and had a radiant smile. Just a word of warning...there are a few stairs to get down to the villa but on a positive note, this makes it quite private. Thank you for making our stay so unbelievable!
Stayed in this wonderful hotel on this spectacular island for a family wedding. Great service and stunning location. We had a villa with the most amazing view! Service was excellent. Just be mindful that there is a bit of a walk to the villa; you don't just drive up to your hotel and find your room! Porters will deal with your luggage and the staff is very attentive.
We stayed at galini hotel for 5 nights in August. We initially arrived with no expectations, however we couldnt have been more surprised with how much of a gem this hotel is. The room is small, but has all the necessities that you need (tv, decent shower etc). The breakfast is unbelievable considering this was included in the cost. The views from the cafe are beautiful. Although the cafe does get busy with customers, 99% of the time hotel guests are prioritised when getting a seat/ordering food. Julia was great on reception from start to finish and made our visit stress free with ordering transfers for us from the airport and allowing us to use the shower after checking out. You will not regret staying here (unless you want to spend a fortune).
The Galini Hotel was the right choice (by my wife of course) for our four day stay on Santorini. Located on the cliffs on the caldera, we had an incredible view on the sunset. The room was small, but very nice, with a bathroom and a balcony. Very clean and neat. The breakfast was sensational. You can choose between six different breakfast varieties, even including a vegan one, for those who need it. The lady at the reception spoke English and German very well, and all the staff were friendly and efficient. Strongly recommended.
First time in Santorini and I would go back in a second! We were there for a family wedding and I had no idea what to expect. We had a "villa" which is located a short walk from the Galini Cafe and the Reception area. This is not a "regular hotel" with a big lobby and self-contained rooms and villas. It is spread out a bit so plan accordingly. (and wear good walking shoes!) Our breakfast was delivered to our outdoor "patio" villa every morning by an amazing staff person.
Its located in a town between Fira and Oia. The location is perfect. You can walk down to Firs downtown easily. The hotel is cosy and makes you feel like home. The rooms are small but clean and cosy. The cafe upstairs is great for breakfast and evening drinks. I would like to thank the Receptionist of the hotel, she is really nice and helpful. Overall amazing experience and would definitely go there again
