We enjoyed an amazing visit to Oia, Santorini as guests of Fanari Villas for 3 nights. The hotel service was fabulous - it’s very well situated and all the staff we engaged with were very kind and helpful - often going beyond the expected. They also assisted with reservations and organized transportation for us. Our rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. We shared the adjoining Horizons Suites with our friends and it couldn’t have worked out better! We had a huge patio to ourselves with two covered dipping pools, lounger chairs and plenty of seating. Our two teen girls loved it! The hotel pool is also easily accessible. The highlight however was the unbelievable views of the caldera and the picture perfect viewpoint for the sunsets - exceptional! Visitors gather from other areas in the area to viewpoints surrounding the Fanari hotel to capture a glimpse of what we enjoyed at our doorstep. We enjoyed good coffee and a nice breakfast on the restaurant patio on the edge of the cliff each morning and also 2 fantastic dinners at the Fanari Restaurant which was only a few footsteps away from us. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared and plated and our waiter Sakis was excellent! Highly recommend Fanari Villas for your stay in Santorini. Oia is also far nicer than Fira! It’s not as busy (though there are still many many tourists and cruise ship passagers! It can get quite crowded in the narrow streets at times—don’t miss the chance to stray off the main passage to visit some of the side passages which often aren’t as occupied) and it feels more authentic and charming here than Fira.
Fanari villas is exactly what we were hoping for in a Santorini vacation - great view, rooms with character, steep stairs everywhere. The hotel staff were accommodating when we wanted to change rooms to be closer to friends. The restaurant was a pleasant surprise - terrific location for sunset views and great food. The staff were warm and friendly and spoke English. We went back to the restaurant twice because there is nothing better at the west end of Oia, so why leave the hotel? Our waiter Sakris was great and made our whole family feel welcome. Crowds of people line the walkways just outside the hotel every night to watch the sunset, and we had a front row seat from our rooms, from the restaurant, or from the pool.
Updated from original post Fantastic location. Sunsets are awesome and a very short walk to cliff jumping. Excellent staff. Maja was very helpful on day 1 with directions for interesting places to see and restaurants to visit. Rooms are clean and while small, good enough for our family of 5. However, we did struggle with the bathroom. Water drainage in the shower was a problem in day 1. Technician fixed it but problem surfaced again day 2 with some water actually seeping out from a different drain. And the whole room has begun to smell. Cleaning service is at it again and hopefully they will get it right this time. Update.....and they did get it right the second time. No more issues for our entire stay. We had dinner on our last night at the hotel. Delicious food with the view of beautiful sunset was certainly an experience we will remember for a long time. Would have rated 5 stars but for the issues in the initial couple of days.
In the third day of seeing Oia we reserved a table in the front ❤️ to see the sunset! It was so beautiful!!! The food was very good and the stuff very profesional! 👍 We had a really nice experiențe here!
We didn't stay here, only ate at the restaurant. If we didn't ask, we will never find out that they are not connected with the Fanari Restaurant in Fira. Nevertheless location is perfect! Awesome views of the sunset. Make sure to make advance reservations and indicate frontline table to get good views. Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Santorini was in our bucket list and more so my wife's top one. So we didn't want anything to be less than extraordinary...Fanari while was our choice but it Rose the bar further. Right from the arrival..our baggage was effortlessly carried away leading us to this #MysticDwelliing.. positivity and pure elegance. The welcome staff was delightful and very friendly and soon we opened the "gates to heaven"!! Vow..the room (executive suite) was spacious enough ..family of four and contemporary in art with native touch.. But the showstealer was their warm jacuzzi Whirlpool..an indulgence overlooking the sea and guess what we sipped with wine.. #AlaSunset. Our experience was overwhelming and feels #GiftOfGod.. The markets and other tourists points including bus stop is a stroll away and if anyone has a wish to fulfill..visit Fanari it's overwhelming!!
We stayed in Villa #1, if you would like to see a full video tour, find me on IG @LLTRAVELMEL, go to my "Greece Highlights" and scroll through until you see this Villa! Here are the pros and cons (trust me, the pros are worth it): PROS: This place is quiet due to a great location, our Villa had a "cave jacuzzi" (are you kidding me!), had wonderful amenities (tons of shampoo, conditioner, etc...) and drinks in your fridge, the whole "cave villa" is so unique, the employees "Mya, Vicki, Alexandra" are amazing and will take care of anything for you (we wanted an ATV, done! brought right to us), our large patio had an amazing view, the bathroom was awesome with a huge jacuzzi tub and gorgeous strong shower, the included breakfast was always tasty and filling, it was all a dream. CONS: The pillows on the bed were too firm and could use an update, our "cave jacuzzi" never got warm (we told them and they came down to check it out and told us to wait a couple hours), we checked on it every hour for 6+ hours and it never even got lukewarm - but that's all! If they could fix those two little things, it would be PERFECTION. Be aware that you will constantly walk up and down lots of stairs if you stay here, but that's what Oia is about! I've already told my daughter she must stay here on her honeymoon, one day!
This Hotel is amazing! It’s situated in Caldera. The View From here is amazing, you can admire Ammoudi bay and the sunset on the Top. There is a famous windmill where the film makers made some Films. Fantastic place and fantastic Santorini.. I love Greece!
Adorable cave-style room on caldera with a private balcony with an amazing sunset view... Professional and very friendly staff; we stayed there with a toddler, literally everyone was looking after her. Even the many stairs down to the room felt good: we enjoyed the delicious food in the hotel restaurant guilt-free. We had a medical emergency during our stay - they handled it like pros.
We recently returned from a vacation to Greece, and our stay on Santorini at the Fanari Villas was the highlight of the trip. There is not a better place to watch the sunset, as we did from our balcony. The location is ideal for popping into any number of restaurants, shops or hikes, and the room could not have been cuter! We spent a couple evenings just drinking wine and hanging out in the hot tub. The perfect relaxation spot for anyone looking to unwind. And lest I forget, the staff was absolutely fantastic! They went out of their way to ensure we had a great time, and all of their recommendations were spot on. If you have an opportunity, I cannot recommend this property enough!
