I don't think I will add too much more to other reviews already on TripAdvisor. The hotel's name says it all. The view is amazing and the 4 days we stayed at hotel, we never stopped pinching ourselves how lucky we were. If you want to stay away from hussle and bustle of the main towns Fira and Oia then this hotel is for you. The hotel is private, out of the way and not on top of other hotels with no privacy. Which my husband and I enjoyed. To get around though, you do need transport unless you want to catch bus and risk walking around the roads. Food and drinks are reasonably priced for a hotel. There are some quaint restaurants within walking distance in the old town. Rooms are clean, good size and very quaint. We had a pool room with pool and ocean views. Room was amazing. Breakfast was standard. Staff are very helpful and welcoming. We didn't have kettle in room for making tea ( which I like to have when I wake up) and next day cups and kettle put in our rooms. Would highly recommend hotel.
What a delightful place for a honeymoon. We were collected from the airport and on arrival at the hotel we were told to go straight to check in and our luggage was delivered to our room. The manager, Andreas, was very helpful and said that various tours and activities were available but didn’t hassle us to book anything, on the contrary we were directed to our room to get sorted and relax. When we got to the balcony the young girl from the bar came with a complimentary bottle of wine for us – sheer bliss. When we did decide to book an excursion Alex was very knowledgeable and steered us in the right direction. All through our stay we were made to feel special. Dwra at the bar was a little angel, knew what we wanted and when and even delivered drinks to our patio, such a gem and a shame that she left the night before we came home. The meals, cooked by the entertaining Vangelis, around the pool were extremely good, so much so that we ate there on a couple of evenings. Breakfast had all the usual cereals, a choice of bread with various jams. Honey and yoghurt and always had boiled eggs and another egg dish, sausages and always ham, cheese and salad. Best of all though was CAKE for breakfast – who can’t love a place like that. There is quite a walk to the bus stop but it is well worth it for the stunning views and pretty flowers along the way. The walk along the road can be a bit tricky as there are no pavements. The views over the Caldera are stunning and absolutely magnificent at sunset, no need to go to Oia where all the sunset bars are crowded (and expensive).
The views from the rooms were incredible, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The service was great, staff were very kind and helpful. Would reccomend to anyone looking for a comfortable stay in Santorini! Looking forward to going back :)
We stayed there in May 2019 and had a wonderful week. The view is amazing and there is no need to go to other overcrowded locations to see the sunset. On our own or with other guest with a beer or a cocktail from the excellent pool staff on the hotel pool terrace it is a great view by day and even perfect during sunset. Our room was small but included everything we needed. The very friendly hotel staff was competent and helpful during our stay. The menu card is short but the food is fresh and delicious – we really liked it. Also the village (10 minutes walk) is nice with some local taverns. Bus transportation was very easy with local busses and a bus stop nearby.
"Our stay at the Grand View hotel is unforgettable. Obviously the view overlooking the caldera is the best on the island, if available book the double superior with balcony with the private jaccuzy, its worth it! But not only is the view amazing, the staff is so kind and caring. A mega bonus for the amazing food, the moussaka is to die for and Vangelis the chef has included some delicious vegetarian options on the menu. For meet lovers, the burgers, souvlaki and chicken salad is a must try. Last but not least the location is perfect, not crowded like Fira but easily accessible its also a 10 minute walk from Megalochori, one of the most romantic village we’ve visited. We will definitely come back!"
What a wonderful little gem. The view is absolutely stunning. Its truly one of the best I have seen. This is not a super fancy hotel, but its just a lovely spot with wonderful staff who will do whatever it takes to make you happy. From checking inn to Dora and Kostas by the pool, and the Chef that makes AMAZING and reasonably priced food, makes this a terrific experience. A short walk to the bus stop takes you to Fira and then on to Oia.. its all perfect. The room is nice but not big. its super clean and well maintained and again the VIEW is perfect. We walked into town (10 minutes) where you can find good dinning and charming plaza. everything here is perfect because you can avoid the big cruise crowds that can be found in Fira.. Anyway.. loved it all
I can not say enough great things about this hotel and our stay. The concierge went out of his way to make our stay the best it could be from upgrading us to the private pool villa, setting up our rental car and even arranging the return of it after we left the hotel! The room was clean, and beautiful. Breakfast was delicious and fresh, the view from our room and the hotel was breathtaking and magical. I can not wait to go back! Thank you grandview for such a wonderful stay!!
We loved our stay at Grand View. The sights from the swimming pool and the rooms are breathtaking. The sunset from here is amazing. It is a unique place where you can renovate your soul in a relaxing atmosphere. The service at the hotel was also warm and always helpful, especially in the restaurant at the swimming pool.
Close to small cities and villages, you can discover here and nearby the true Santorini and the true Greece. The place is quiet and authentic, romantic and special. The view from the cliff is amazing and you can admire the sunset from the terrace near the pool. The stuff is also amazing, from reception, bar, cook and so on. The food is very good, from breakfast to supper. I really recommend it, and even I visited the entire Santorini this is the place where I will come back. The combination of the above is perfect for me. Really recommend.
When you have 2-3 days and no time to waste, then this is the hotel you should stay in Santorini. Just10 minutes ride from the airport you park your car and the next moment you are enjoying the beutiful sunset of Santorini with a frozen mochito in your hands away from all the annoying crowds of Oia and Fira. Fira and Merovigli are exactly 10 minutes ride and the beautiful beach of Perissa is also 10 minutes by car. So this is what I really liked the most about this place. Having day trips and fine dine around SantoriniI and at the same time enjoying the privacy of our pool away from all that crowd in Oia and Fira. Not to mention that we had 5 star amenities at an affordable price. I would also like to thank all the staff as well as the reception manager for all the information that they gave us and the bookings that they did on our behalf. Thank you all for having an amazing Easter vacation!
