My partner and I had the most amazing experience at this hotel throughout the duration of our stay last summer. We still talk about the views from our room, the infinity pool and possibly the best hotel breakfast view in the world. The Greek omelette for breakfast was exceptional, and so were the cocktails we ordered from our private outdoor jacuzzi / deck. Also, loved the location even though it's not part of the usual stretch of white buildings that you regularly see on IG -- that's located in Oia. San Antonio is definitely in a more luxurious part of Santorini where you have unimpeded views of the ocean and volcano, feels more secluded than the bustling touristy Oia. Also, I would highly recommend you to rent a buggy (instead of a car!) for the full experience of driving through the fun, windy roads with great views to and from restaurants throughout the island. My one quip would be regarding the service of the male staff - they were standing around like secret service agents, didn't speak English so were very curt in their mannerisms, and made us feel a bit uncomfortable. At the end of the trip, I realized I had left my watch in our room safe after checking out and called the hotel to ask if they would keep it for us so we could pick it up after lunch, to which they responded there was "no watch in the safe". We returned to the hotel in a rush, and after realizing my watch was not packed in any of the luggage (opening up everything in the lobby), and us resorting to calling the police to report theft, the watch was "suddenly and miraculously" found by one of the male staff there, who claimed the watch was hidden under the carpeting of the safe. Not possible, because I went into the room prior to opening my luggage to check for myself. I do not want to point fingers, but would err on the side of caution when storing luxury goods. Anyway, this was a strange incident, and I still rate this hotel well because the rest of the trip was that just magical and everything we dreamed a Greece vacation to be.
Our Take. Service here was impeccable. With the hotel being so small it allows the on sight team to remember you easily and feel like you are being catered to at every turn. On sight driver for reasonable price to take you anywhere you need. Location and property. In between Oia and Thera this incredible hotel is set upon a cliff looking out towards Thirasia Island and you will see the cruise ships and ferry's passing through. Each room (as we saw 4 different layouts) are the perfect amount of space for luggage lounging in door and our on your private patio outside. A central common swimming pool with restaurant and bar next to.
We stayed here for 4 nights. You can read all the positive reviews - beautiful hotel, amazing service, clean, stunning views. Couple notes for ones reading this review: 1) It is said to be located in Imerovigli. I don't know if it is or not. However, it is a 50 minute walk to the actual town of Imerovigli. This isn't a bad thing. When we first arrived, we felt isolated. We just came from Mykonos where its a party island. Lots of things walking distance. You are right in between two of the biggest towns, Oia and Thera (with Imerovigli in between). You can look on Google maps exactly where you are located. You are a 50 min walk down South to Imerovigli and additional 40-50 from Imerovigli to Thera. You are about 60-90 minute walk to Oia. What are the towns? Imerovigli - not much there, few restaurants Thera - the 'capital' of Santorini, restaurants and night life (however, nothing like Mykonos) Oia - the town where you can watch the sunset and the town that you see advertised on all postcard/travel sites/hotels, etc As mentioned, we came from Mykonos and that felt like a beachy, party town. It was lively at all times of the day. When we arrived, we felt isolated. However, in less than a day, we got used to this quietness and peacefulness. We had to change our mindset. Santorini is a beautiful and much different place. Its not a beach island, it's an island located far up from the beaches. However, it is absolutely a beautiful place. It is definitely a place for your honeymoon. Now, my wife and I decided to hike to Thera/Imerovigli one day and then hike to Oia on two days. We would hike/walk and it would take us about an hour. The walk/hike there is beautiful. You should definitely do it. Plus, we got our exercise for the day. Because we aren't the most active people, we took the shared transfer back to the hotel. This hotel offers pick up for a cheap, 15 euros for 2 people. The front staff is WONDERFUL and can make almost any arrangements to be picked up and dropped off for only 15 euro. Why I say cheap? There are almost no taxis in town and if there are, they are ripping you off. We heard people charged anywhere from 40-100 euros for a 20-30 minutes ride. This hotel offers it for 15 euro. It is a steal. Plus, the hotel staff is by the phone or email if you are running behind to catch the scheduled ride. Car rentals can be as cheap as 30 euro per day, but thats the cheapest and you would have to pre-book. The cheapest cars, usually don't have space for luggage ATV rentals - this might be worth it. You can get them for 30-100 euros per day. The hotel can arrange for you to get one. I'd use this if you plan to go to and back from town multiple times a day or if you want to just drive and see the views. We found this unnecessary. 2) The hotel amenities are amazing. The pool has an incredible view. The spa is amazing. My wife and I both got massages, and they were amazing. The hotel restaurant is AMAZING. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Breakfast is included. The drinks from the bar are amazing. Everything about the hotel, cleanliness, and service was amazing. I will note, the staff begins to remember who you are after just a day. This hotel I believe is less than 30 rooms, so you get a personalized touch. 3) You can email concierge prior to your arrival for 15 euro each person for pick up from airport or even port. Highly suggest it, as mentioned above it might be even costlier to find a tax (if you even find one) or rent a car (cars that fit luggage start at 50 euro+)
Wow! What an experience! Amazing views, fantastic service, great food! The concierge Martha is a wonderful lady, so good at her job. She got us the best seats at every restaurant and booked us all our day trips. I highly recommend this hotel and will be back for sure.
My wife and I spent four nights at San Antonio and it was the best hotel experience of our lives. Not only is the view spectacular, not only is the food excellent but the people here really make a difference. Martha and Eleni are excellent concierges and will make any needed arrangements. The waiters were as nice as they could be, including Areti and Nicholas. We did the fancy "digustation" menu with wine pairings and it was one of the best culinary experiences of our lives, all with a direct view of the Caldera at sunset. Truly memorable. (Our waiter, Nicholas, explained each course and wine pairing in detail and displayed quite a bit of knowledge in the process. I should note that we are experienced travelers, having visited 30+ countries, many of those at very nice hotels. So, we don't hand out a lot of "excellent" marks, but this one truly deserves it. We'll be back.
For me it was a perfect Hotel ! It is located in a peaceful area and Not in the crowded towns on the Island . It is a wonderful Place ! SERVICE is amazing. As there are so many wonderful pictures of the Hotel I want to write about the degustationsmenue in the Cliff Side Restaurant . In the evening you sit in the front laine and they offer you a wonderful menue!! I will upload pictures that you Can make up your own mind : E N J O Y
What a beautiful hotel! We travel extensively, always staying at high end properties, and this is definitely one of my favorites. Views are amazing, service was excellent, and the food was quite nice as well. This is a very small hotel, located between Oiya and Imergovil but not in walking distance of either. I was a little concerned about not being closer to one of the main towns, but now we have visited Oiya I am so glad that we were more remote. It is quick drive to the towns which are extremely crowded with tourists and the hotels there did not seem to have as much privacy In terms of rooms, while hotel is small the selection of rooms appear quite diverse. We were a party of 6 and booked 3 "master suites with sea view and hot tub". These are cave style rooms with private patios and hot tubs, and they had beautiful views, lovely furnishings, and privacy. Word of warning - there are a lot of steps! This was not an issue for us but it could be for some Pool area was small - I think there were less than 20 loungers - but the infinity pool looking over the water was every bit as nice as in the pictures and we spent a very comfortable day poolside. This is a very unique and lovely property, would highly recommend
This was our second visit to the San Antonio suites and it never fails to surpass your expectations. It is such a beautiful hotel and the service is second to none. The whole complex is so clean and pristine and the rooms are delightful. It certainly does not fail to please so it is worth that little bit extra because that is exactly what you get. When you arrive you are not only greeted by charming staff, you are given sparkling wine then you are taken to be shown the vista which is stunning. They leave a greeting card in your room and bring you some nibbles to feast on when you arrive along with a bottle of wine - a lovely little touch! The rooms are delightful and there is nothing cheap about them, as seems to be indicated in an earlier review but everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone's expectations are different and we are quite particular and like a certain standard and this hotel is not cheap in any way at all, it is classy and smart and the standard is well above the average. The staff booked tables for us at various restaurants and the hotel taxi took us and collected us and it was no more expensive than the local taxis, the service is so good, convenient and efficient. We had no problem with the wi fi in our room, in fact it was really good as we have to check our business emails every day but there is main frame computer in reception that you can use at any time if you have a problem and the staff are more than helpful. The hotel is so special we are thinking of revisiting for a special event for our daughters 40th birthdays as we know they will be mesmerised by the setting and we know the service we will receive will be, as always, exceptional!! Thank you once again San Antonio, you never fail to please and a special thanks to Tuala who went out of her way to ensure we had a perfect stay.
The cleanest hotel we have stayed in, our room thoroughly cleaned each day. Lovely welcome with a glass of fizz on arrival & bottle of wine in our room. Really friendly helpful staff particularly: Nicholas, Aris, Greg, Jenny, Yanis, Areti & Thanasis in the bar/restaurant area. Amazing uninterrupted views. Ideal location. Look forward to going back 😊
I‘ m since 20 years now globalist with Hyatt and have only booked the Resort as it is a frenchize with Hyatt. We were completely not satisfied with our stay Negative : -The Flatscreen you are mentioning in the descriptions is the cheapest of the cheapest TV I have ever seen in a „5 star hotel}“ in 2019 HD should be standard as well a selection of different channels in different languages. We could only see analog news channels not even a channel with movies nor one German channel. -The WLAN connectivity was miserable it was only connecting 60 % of the time we tried to connect. -In the bathroom as well in the living room beside the bed pluck socket for a hairdryer or a shaver or I phone /pad are missing -Breakfast time starting 8:00 I have never seen before in a hotel what is when people as we had to leave earlier -The furniture were from a home improvement store the cheapest of the cheapest a 3 star standard but never a 5 star standard -by accident we met the guest from the neighbor and we found out that they nearly paid half of what had to pay although I asked for a better offer without breakfast as a globalist with Hyatt the breakfast is part of my Tier status . So we paid for the breakfast although we would get it for free -The jacuzzi water was cold and the first day we arrived it was dirty -the most annoying point was the price. the hotel rooms were not utilized as we stayed there at low season it was maximum 50% and we had to pay a fantasy price close to 300 € and more. A comparable hotel room at similar hotels in Santonrini or Mykonos we paid prices between 150 € and 200 € Maximum with much better comfort than in San Antonio Positively to mentions are the very friendly employees and the cleaning lady did a very good job so the whole Ressort was very clean. Resume : you find similar places which are fair priced and have same or better standard . The hotel is by far far far to expensive on what they deliver look for other places There is also no restaurant or bar in the neighborhood the hotel is in the middle of nowhere you need taxi or local bus to get somewhere
