My Wife and I stayed at Nikos Villas from 9th to 11th October 2019. The most amazing little hotel with stunning views of the Caldera and even more amazing sunsets!! A nice pool, decent basic breakfast, and a supermarket just opposite add to the Stay convenience. Local bus stop at the entrance, a car/bike rental jut opposite and a great cafe next door ! We had only seen the stunning views in pictures but at Nikos, we lived it!!! The only addition perhaps could be an electric kettle; they have electric hot plates 😃
Quaint little place, just outside the action in Oia, Santorini, but close enough that you get to experience it all. The goods: Proximity to Touristy Oia. Views of the Caldera/Sea and views of picturesque town of Oia. Steps to a pool. Really cute little breakfast offered by the place. And honestly, Niko and the staff were wonderful. Niko is a loud, but fun local Greek, don't be afraid of him. The bads. In reality, there really aren't that many. The rooms were on the small side, but really good enough....I get the feeling most places in this area are going to be on the small side. The lighting in the place could have been better. Overall, in a place like Santorini, you get what you pay for. You want to be on the edge of a cliff with a sunset view, then get your bank loan out. This place is decent, it's got nice views, an within walking distance to main parts of Oia.
We stayed at Nikos Villas for 5 days. We cannot stop praising this amazing hotel for its location. The pool side of this hotel is perfectly perched on the top to get the best sunset views. We ended up spending so much time (after every lunch n dinner 😊for which we stepped out) by the pool side just for the views. The breakfast unlike what most reviews point was just fine for us. The hotel is run by the owner and his staff and there was a personal touch to everything, starting from the checkin to helping us around Oia and a personally laid out breakfast. We found our whole stay so romantic and relaxing. The rooms were made out from the caves and the walk to the room was beautiful looking at the white and blues with the bougainvillea flowers. It was a perfect holiday. Thank you to Mr. Nikos, his staff and Oia for making this one of our most memorable holidays!
Great location but rude owner. The apartment was basic, no sitting area or much kitchen equipment. The shower is small and only has a shower head.Beds were hard. There is no WIFi, only in reception and the owner did not want to know when reported. Breakfast was basic;greek youghurt, cereals, fruit, bread, e.g.They could do with a toaster and more choices. There are no space between the tables which makes it's difficult to get up.The owner is seen playing with the food during breakfast.Pool area was lovely. which has a pool bar. However you need to go and look for the staff yourself to be served There is a shop and a restaurant nearby and you may be better off going there as we did.The staff are very hardworking and polite. However the owner is rude.He is often seen shouting at the staff and guests. One morning he was seen shouting at guests as they wanted to take a drink outside. We could not relax whilst at the villa as we often saw and heard him shouting at the staff. On arrival, he was seen greeting other guests with a complimentary drinks whilst we stood there having nothing.Same thing happened on our last day.He did not even say goodbye to us.Sometimes he would not even give us a smile let alone a good morning. The man who carried our luggage was lovely.Receptionist always greeted us.Housekeeper did a great job but they do move your personal belongings to a different place.Staff are very polite but we would not return as the owner is very horrible to his staff and guests
The location is wonderful, picture taking heaven, breathtaking at every turn. The junior suite was beautiful with powerful air conditioning. Kids had a blast at the pool. We embraced the Greek life and its hospitality, making an effort to ingratiate ourselves and being welcomed dearly by the staff and owner, Nikos himself, who met us to taste his family’s personal wine at sunset by the pool and to say goodbye the next day as we departed. We promised to come back in 3 years if not less. The staff was very helpful arranging our 5 hour boat tour which was amazing. This place was wonderful and made our vacation. Only warning is that transportation around the island is confusing and somewhat frustrating - but come on, you’re on one of the most beautiful islands on earth!!!!
Very beautiful location with fantastic view! The rooms smell badly and are furnitured with old stuff. disaster is the owner of the hotel itself. He screams and shouts at guests. Breakfast is very poor and not being replenished and the coffee was sour. He closed breakfast ten min before ending time with the word "finished!!!".Wifi doesn't work at the pool area and rooms, just at the reception! We can not recommend this place.
We stayed at the bottom of the cliff with wonderful views but there were a lot of steps to get up to breakfast reception and the swimming pool. However this was not a problem for us. The location was good and our rooms very clean. The reception staff were really nice. Martine always seemed to be at the desk and was always very helpful. There was also a young man from Albania who was always helpful and very hardworking. However Mr Nikos himself was a very rude man who was not helpful to us at all. I had read reviews about him and my experience confirmed what others had said.. We often saw some people have wine from Mr Nikos on arrival and departures whilst we stood beside and never had anything. One morning my daughter had difficulty in walking up the steps as she had a swollen foot. I asked if i could take her breakfast and he refused! . He was seen shouting often at his staff which made us feel awkward. He was watching everything and this made us feel uncomfortable. Breakfast was the same every morning with not a lot of variety to look forward to after climbing 70 steps. Mr Nikos was seen every morning fiddling and touching the food all the time and depending which mood he was in sometimes we would have a good morning and sometimes not. This was the same for everyone else too. Therefore i would not recommend this hotel although the location is lovely. Great spot but shame about the owner.
Well, I was scared about staying in Nikos villas because bad reviews, turns out, we have the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! Mr Nikos is a great guy! Super great host! The staff was amazing! I propose to my girlfriend and they origanized everything to have decoration in our room. Amazing. The villas are super clean and just 8 minutes walk to oia center. The pool was amazing and great to enjoy a mythos beer. Don’t think about it. Nikos villas it’s a great option to stay in santorini. Also! Next to them there is a bus stop that can take you anywhere. Thank you very much Mr Nikkos And staff for your hospitality!
We stayed right down the bottom of the cliff and the view was amazing!! The room was traditional and older-style, very clean, however you couldn’t get WiFi once inside but we didn’t mind as the view from the room made up for it. Be aware that if you stay down the cliff there are LOTS of stairs just to get up to the actual hotel and pool. Overall, the villas are in a great location, it’s just a short walk into town! Negatives: The shower was no good, just a shower head on a hose - made washing your hair a nightmare. There was also no complimentary tea, coffee or water in the villa like you expect and if you’re after the whole ‘fluffy robe and slippers’ experience then I wouldn’t stay here. There’s also no information in the villa like where to get laundry done, best restaurants, what number to call reception... The breakfast was OK, very basic, and I watched the owner touch and fiddle everything every morning which was a bit gross. I think the place is severely understaffed as I tried to get a cocktail and food by the pool but there was absolutely no one around to order anything from and even when I went inside the reception was busy and I was ignored. Luckily there is a supermarket right across the road so we often got snacks and wine from there. Also worth mentioning: other guests checked out when we did and they got Ouzo shots and big thank you’s from the owner while we stood there, awkwardly, with no Ouzo shot and no thank you. Would we stay here again? Probably not. Customer service was pretty crap, the only thing saving this place is the location and views.
I hesitate to heap praise on Nikos Villas as when I return I hope there is availability. There really is no need to look elsewhere as this property checks all the boxes, value, cleanliness, amenities, views, and location. However, the one thing that stands out above all else is the staff. EVERYONE working there is welcoming and extremely accommodating. The owner Mr. Nikos sets the example. Mr. Nikos is an outgoing man who can trace his roots to the beautiful island for many generations. He is rightfully proud of his property and can always be seen engaging with his guests, and, he was most helpful when help was needed. My wife had a nasty fall breaking her wrist. He quickly called for a cab and directed us as where to go for medical assistance. When returning from the hospital late at night I witnessed him on his knees stocking the refrigerator. At 7:00 AM the next morning, he paused from helping with cooking and preparing breakfast to call us a taxi, as regrettably we had to cut short our vacation as surgery was needed. Remember now, this is the owner of a 32 unit gorgeous piece of desirable real estate. A true pleasure meeting him. We hope to return to Nikos Villas some day..... An aside....spent just one hour in ER, 3 X-rays, cast, two leg bandages, skilled doctor late on a Sunday night. Total bill $150.
