Stayed there for a night and we got the pool suite. The room was very spacious and the washroom was even more spacious with an attached sauna room and 2 shower areas. Room, washroom and balcony was very clean and the room amenities were great. Internet speed was good and the I loved the private pool. We were only two but the pool was big enough for at least 4 people. View from our attached balcony wasn't bad either. They also had 2 small pools which we didn't have time to enjoy as we had our own. Breakfast spread had limited items but it was good enough for anybody. The view from the breakfast area was pretty nice too. The hotel was situated on the quieter side of Fira and it required a 5 min taxi ride to reach Fira central and I felt that was the only downside. They can fix this by providing shuttle service from time to time. The hotel also had limited amount of people working which I felt slowed the service down a bit. Overall, we had a good stay and didn't face any issues at all.
Booked to stay 3 nights. Wanted to check in on day of our wedding just to be told babies are not allowed. Tried to reason with Alexandra the receptionist, explaining that we were not notified of this despite e-mailing the hotel in advance and calling the day before, and was trying to find a reasonable way forward as our wedding was in 3 hours time and we have nowhere to go with a 10 month old baby. She showed absolutely no sympathy, refused to answer any questions and refused to even accommodate us for the day. Also made it clear that we will not get any refund and seemed to enjoy telling us this. On my 30 years of travels I have never had such a bad experience and will seriously advise you to think twice before booking this hotel as there are much better options available as we know now.
I’m not big on writing reviews, but I figured I’d help warn potential travelers of what I experienced during my stay at Azzurro Suites. I tried to resolve the issues with the front desk, and I was told to contact Travelocity. I will say that the views are amazing, but that’s where my kudos stop. I’ve listed the cons below. 1. I paid for an upgraded suite with hot tub, and the hot tub would not get hot. Maintenance came 4 times and never got it fixed. 2. The daytime receptionist very unpleasant. 3. The window curtain rack fell during our walkthrough. Maintenance came to repair it, but we were forced to look at duct tape draped from our ceiling for the remainder of our stay. 4. Ice is only available at the bar, so if you need it you have to walk down to the bar (roughly 3 flights down, depending on room), or pay the service fee to get it delivered, each time. 5. There are no irons in the rooms..You have to pay housekeeping to do, which is fine, but it takes a minimum of an hour. 6. I wasn’t feeling well one of the mornings, so my wife went to the breakfast bar to get me food and water. She was abruptly stopped by the bartender and told that she couldn’t take any food from outside the bar area. 7. The wi-fi moves at a snails pace. 8. The location is noted Fira, but it’s on the outskirts.
We stayed here for one night in Sept. We booked a spa room and were slightly worried by some reviews we read on here. Well from the moment we walked through the reception door we had nothing but an awesome experience with this hotel. The staff were helpful, informative and kind to us. The views are absolutely breathtaking! The hotel is boutique in size (18 rooms) and it’s in between two larger hotels which are pricer. The beds were soft, shower pressure great and room clean! We had breakfast included and what a terrace to eat from! We also enjoyed a lunch at the restaurant when we checked in and the food was delicious. The wait staff were lovely and attentive. The only downside (if there had to be one) was the distance from Fira but we knew this and it didn’t bother us as it was one night. 8€ is a taxi to Fira which the hotel sorted for us and 35€ transfer for 4ppl to the port. Check out my pictures to get an idea of how nice this place is! We highly recommend this hotel and were so happy we chose it.
The property was fine, the view was great. The service was abominable. From A to Z, the staff was unhelpful, rude, seemingly untrained, indifferent, and practiced questionable practices with charges. We were told there was no management we could contact, would love info to reach ownership of this property to tell them what is going on if anyone has it.
The hotel has gorgeous views of the caldera! We booked a room with a private pool on the balcony facing the sea. Although probably a little pricier than a regular room, I would highly recommend doing so!... The breakfast was great and had a wide variety of options. We also ordered drinks and ate dinner there a couple of the nights. Everything was delicious and the staff was great. The only downside to Azzuro is that the hotel's location is not within walking distance of much, but most people rent ATVs or cars to get around the island anyways. The front desk even organized the ATV rental for us as well as a catamaran cruise. They were very helpful!
My girlfriends and I stayed here for 3 nights mid July. We were so excited after seeing the gorgeous photos online, but upon arrival we’re sadly disappointed by the reality of the hotel. First off, the pools are both tiny. The main pool deck is devoid of personally or care, with one tiny pool. The infinity pool is also tiny and down several sets of stairs where there is a pool bar. Unfortunately the pool bar was closed for our entire stay, and the wifi was not working either. Our room was a lot smaller than it looked online, and the fold out couch was so uncomfortable we had to request many blankets to stack on top of the mattress to be able to sleep on it. The staff at the hotel were on the whole not very friendly or helpful, other than the cleaning staff. The food in the restaurant was also sub par, and we only at breakfast there because it was free. Our only saving grace was the beautiful hotel next door, where we ate lunches and dinners, had amazing massages and the staff was so attentive and professional. I would recommend staying at the Volcano View Hotel if you are planning a trip to Santorini, and don’t bother with Azzurro at all.
We booked a sea view jetted tub suite for an extra night in Santorini after having spent 2 nights at another similar priced sea view suite in Thira (which was also closer). Unfortunately this stay was a major let down and didn’t compare at all. The rooms are very dated, aircon had issues and needed repairing in the middle of the night especially the bathroom. The staff were less than helpful and the breakfast was poor quality and choices. Given we paid over Au$800 for the night this was terrible value for money and I would not recommend to stay here if you want to spend this kind of money.
All around great hotel. Location is perfect with mini market and bakery right across the street. Only a 8 euro cab ride to the main part of Thira. Rooms were very clean and spacious, staff was very kind and helpful. Two pools on site with great views of the caldera. Hotel restaurant breakfast was very good with many options.
We stayed here for the last leg of our honeymoon in Santorini. The hotel overall is clean. Our room had a jetted tub on the balcony which we paid extra for. Hospitality wasn’t the same as we experience on the other two islands we visited. We weren’t given any information or things to do in the area. The hotel has two small pools the main pool bar was closed because it wasn’t “high season” although coming from Canada , 32 degrees Celsius in June and full amount of guests using the pool area seems like the right time to open the pool bar. Instead you have to walk up several flights of stairs to get drinks or snacks. The breakfast was alright. An 8 euro taxi to Thira and 25 euros to Oia and the airport. Renting a car is pretty much a must but you can take a bus from Thira. Parking is hard to find in Thira. The hotel did have great views and sat on the cliff side of the island. The bed was comfortable and the hotel restaurant prices were reasonable. Overall would stay again.
