Unable to stay at the Sheraton Santiago Hotel for this reservation. COVID 19 kept us hostage on Celebrity cruise. On March 13th Celebrity Cruise cancelled the cruise we were already on and we were told to make our own arrangements home. So, from the ship, I booked airline and hotel reservation through Orbitz. We were to be dropped off in Santiago Chile the very next day! Within Hours we would be told Chile had refused any disembarkation from our ship. I then spent hours on ships phone attempting to cancel reservations made just hours before but to no avail. Today, July 7 2020, I have been unable to recoup any of my losses despite apparent good efforts on Orbitz part. This review is to nudge the Sheraton to refund my loss which was unavoidable

Good location Breakfast too expensive Club lounge should be better

Great hotel, perfect area, close to malls. Friendly staff, great view, clear room. Unique design. Loved it, and will come back.

The staff at this Sheraton were most attentive and very mannerly; you will feel completely at home and quite relaxed here. The rooms are decent-sized, extremely comfortable and spotless. The HVAC worked perfectly and you can even open the windows for fresh air if you like. The views are great. The TV has innumerable channels, a number of them in English. For the athletically inclined, the pool is neat, and although I did not use it, the fitness center looked perfectly adequate. Apparently the hotel has a quite a number of spa experiences, but I did not use these either. One thing I definitely liked was that the hotel has a number of eating and dining facilities, and several seemed to be open all the time, not always true in late-eating South America. The lobby bar area was particulary attractive, and had great coffee, beers, and, of course, in Chile, wine. I prefer a hotel in the middle of things, but this Sheraton is in a residential area, with little activity or immediately adjacent stores or restaurants. But the subway is only a ten minute walk away, across the Mapucho River in the busy Providencia neighborhood. There are plenty of shops and eateries of all types there for those that prefer an out-of-hotel experience. For those who like to take bus tours of the city to orient themselves and see some sights, the Touristik company has a shop right in the hotel, and their bus stops right in front of it quite frequently.
