We booked this hotel pre-cruise as it was the hotel used by the cruise line for guests. We found the people (front desk, wait staff and housekeeping) to be friendly and outgoing. The breakfast buffet had many choices and the Lobby Bar was convenient for grabbing a meal or a snack. Word of advice, the pizza is large enough for two. The room was clean, shampoo, conditioner and body wash is readily available along with a body cream

I have been coming to this hotel for 30 years and unfortunately had the most disappointing visit over that time. It started with checking in on the 31st of Dec and finding out their pool was closed for the day due to New Year's eve party prep. From there the hotel room my wife and I were assigned had poor A/C circulation and the temperature got up to 86 degrees &F/30 degrees C before we needed to switch rooms at almost 11 pm. The remainder of the time was average at best as the hotel struggled with a sold out hotel. The rooms continued to be warmer than normal in spit of being in a new room which is a bigger hotel issue than just a room issue. We were offered a form of compensation to the initial bad start only to find out that the hotel was unable to honor what was offered to us. Safe to say we will not be coming back and we recommend all travelers who want a cool room in the summer to avoid this hotel. A shame based on how iconic this hotel was in Santiago for the 90's and the early 2000's.

Early check in not provided even though I bought a high end room. Bathtub drain didn’t work. After the tub was full of water. The very nice and professional engineer fixed the mechanism but the drain was still very slow. Alternative room was at the back of the building instead of the view room with the malfunctioning drain.
