My group of 29 spent three nights at the Hotel Torremayor Lyon in Santiago in early January. Our check-in took a little extra time, but we got the issues resolved. Meals were very good - especially the breakfast buffet! Staff was very courteous and helpful!

Close to shopping and many restaurants. A good breakfast selection was provided in a buffet setting. The room itself was spacious and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed on a Sunday and Monday night so there was not a lot of street noise to be heard.

Enjoyed my stay. Breakfast good, pool very nice view, staff friendly. Only con were the water noise from toilet flushes and street noise. In a nice neighborhood for walking. Champagne was a nice surprise.

Hands down one of the worst hotels I have stayed in perhaps ever. I can deal with an off day or subpar quality in a few areas, but the collection of poor/missing services coupled with the disgusting attitude we received from most staff and the fact that they are dumdfounded by the simplest requests make this a hotel to completely avoid. Two people in our room. One towel. When asked for another the staff said “We’ll see what we can do”. Like they are going to do us some big favour. After an hour of no word, a call placed returned “we have no towels”. A trip to the front desk was a full argument which included asinine phrases like “other people in the hotel need towels too” and “there might be more in the laundry room but the woman with the key has left for the evening”. Really? After a few more hours a towel was miraculously “found”, in an empty room, which is what I had suggested in the first place. Other requests that dumbfound the staff here: “Can we have a bottle opener?”, No the person with the key for the kitchen has gone home for the evening. Is this a real thing? What kind of service cuts off their supply to anything by allowing employees to bring home keys. And why is there only one key! “Can we have hot water to make neo citrin.” Dumbfounded looks and searching for a kettle in the restaurant. Tried to charge us for the minibar when we didn’t use it. Had to set our own table at breakfast, because despite 5 staff milling about, no one could clean a table. Wifi is poor and continually cuts out. We left bags with them. They couldn’t find them, and after 10 minutes asked “what are we looking for exactly?” The rooms are basic and literally only have 1 available outlet. We had to use a splitter so that my friend and I could both charge anything. Heck, even the welcome drink the provide as part of check in, was met wth haughty derision when they had to prepare it. Shout out the nice bell boys who seem to make up for the mistakes and poor demeanour of everyone else. They deserve a raise, or a job at a decent hotel. Summary: Do not stay here.

Arrived on the 20th of November from Amsterdam (I think) so I just slept the first day, during the second did touristy stuff during the day and then had a wander around in the evening, remember finding a cool little local dive bar where I got them to stick on the City match in the Champions League, had a few beers, wandered around a bit more than went back to the hotel, from what I remember the hotel had a nice little swanky looking bar, either that or I'm confusing this hotel with one in Buenos Aires, I do remember the room being comfortable with nice big new pillows, staff were friendly and courteous which I find you get more of in South America in comparison to North America.

This hotel is older, but it is quite well kept. We enjoyed it. It needs a bit of paint in places but the room was clean overall. Staff were great with many speaking English. Restaurant was nice, we only used it for the included breakfast which was good. The area that the hotel is located is really one the best things about it; a short walk to the metro and lots of shops. I felt very safe in this area, if fact I liked the area very much. The rooftop pool is a lovely, quiet, oasis is the middle of a large fast moving city.

This hotel is a good standard hotel, though not very modern, in the centre of Santiago. From here you can easily reach most of the important spots. The breakfast buffet could be better. The rooms are good.

I had even problems shutting of the hot water unit in the shower, as the water unit was so old. The internet hardly works at night when guests are in their rooms. The staff was friendly. Mostly old people there, but I think they deserve better.

Very nice hotel, close to all locations. Just 4 miles to the city centre. Subway / buses are all nearby. Staff was very helpful. Would be best if you spoke Spanish since very few staff members did. Rooms are big and clean. (no big deal, but all the snacks in the mini fridge were expired :) )

We visited the hotel in April 2017 within a travel group of over 80 persons within 8 days twice. Both times, only one small elevator was usable, which led to considerable waiting times. The rooms are shabby. The shower handles were very difficult to operate. Already with few restaurant visitors the manager of the restaurant service (older woman) was already overstrained. When we visited the restaurant with a larger group, the woman was completely overstrained and became also still rude. The visitors of our group at the next table had to wait more than one hour before they could place an order. The rest of the service staff also seemed futile. In addition, the price / performance ratio is not right. If you want to eat well and cheaply, you should leave the hotel, cross the street and go 50 meters to the right to the Italian or a few meters further to McDonalds. To evaluate that hotel with four stars, is surely a gross exaggeration.
