Checking in was very confusing: we booked on their website a Suite, were offered a Junior Suite (= they sell it as Luxury Suite); we refused. After long discussions, they had a real Suite for 3 nights at floor...4...!!!- our IHG-goldmember-profile shows 'high floor' - we accepted this, tired after an Intercontinental flight.. It showed soon that we were right on top of all the engines/machinery of the hotel with unbearable continuing noice.-we saw all the machinery ourself-. Then started a ,never-seen process to find a suite as booked, with all kinds of manipulations, waiting, discussions between the staff-members, etc. Thanks to Flavia of guest-relations, and long waiting, we could move first to a standard room to take some rest and finally at 5.30pm, they got a quiet, high-floorsuite ready for us, good views towards the city and the Avenue. Good Suite, bit oldfashioned It took 5 hours to get the room we booked and paid for with advance purchase. Is it because we are non-Chilean, not a regular hotelguest, in the worst case a 'gringo' although we are Europeans? The hotel has a good location, executive lounge gives good service, a friendly staff, also good snacks and drinks. Swimming pool is small, not like shown on their pictures. We enjoyed our stay - we never spoil our holidays due to mistakes of a hotel - but left with very bad feelings. Our money is good, so their quality should be correct and good! It seems not to be a hotel for International travellers.. Much tetter options with other International brands in Santiago.
We stayed there 3 nights. What a great hotel with a great location. We were very pleasantly rewarded for our membership in their frequent membership club room. Worth investigating if you are not a member. Very fine rooms with reliable temperature control. Fine bar and restaurant. Staff is very professional. We'll return.
We stayed at the hotel twice over a 2-week period; first in a suite and then in an executive room (as a result of being an IHG Rewards member). I am not so sure about the location. This part of Santiago can be or feel rougher than other parts, especially if you have small children (Las Condes is much better in this regard). During the first stay we ate three times at the lounge (not nice at all) before we ate at the much better standard option on the second floor. We should have gone there earlier. The staff assisting with luggage and excursions were great. The senior front desk managers the same. We found it odd that we were greeted with two bottles of local water when we checked in the the second time (the first check in was very good). Apparently we got the water bottles because of the IHG Rewards membership. Why not just put it in the room? What is so special about two small bottles of water? They should make it a bigger deal that travelers bother about the IHG Rewards membership (To enhance it). The female front desk manager (junior) did the opposite. They should be happy that travelers choose to remain loyal. The food was average but airport transfers and request for a car with a driver worked out really well. Some of the staff seemed proud to be welcoming and professional. That was good to see.
Only stayed one night so hard to give 5/5. Location is great - if you don’t want to pay for Uber/taxi then take the airport bus to parajitos and get a Bip card for the metro and the stop is very close to the hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was nice and big - bathroom clean. We had to leave very early (left hotel at 4am) and they had coffee and small selection of pastries available even at that time. Would stay again.
There was a music festival taking place in Santiago when we arrived and the place was in a bit of a chaos unfortunately. On the negative side: Although we arrived around midday, we were not given access to our room until 3:30 pm and this was after constant chasing. The Front Desk staff didn’t display much sympathy or warmth - it was a clinical service, which we did not appreciate. We also had to have our room changed because it was noisy and had a communicating door to another room. This was achieved with some difficulty. On the positive side; we took up the upgrade to have access to the Club Lounge on the 22nd floor and this was an excellent idea. Breakfast is served here in an intimate atmosphere as well as complementary drinks with a very good selection of finger buffet food in the evening - most recommended. The location is also very good, with easy access to a lot of the city center attractions. WIFI is good and free throughout the hotel.
Typical better Crowne Plaza decor. Excellent service by staff. Nice breakfast. Large, well-equipped fitness room. Great location in central Santiago. Appreciated the North American plugs (at 220V) for charging devices.
We chose this hotel because it is Crown Plaza and also its central location in Santiago. Staff are very friendly, helpful and fluent in English. Hotel offers wonderful breakfasts and the room are very clean and bed is very comfortable. And it offers us a location within walking to all fantastic restaurants and places we planned to visit.
When LAN Airlines cancelled our flight home (without any notification) they agreed to put us up in the Crowne Plaza and cover meals as well. We were very pleased with the experience. Hotel desk staff was friendly and helpful and the room quite acceptable. We enjoyed several meals in the hotel using both the restaurant and the bar facility. Enjoyed using the convenient computers on the main floor. All in all, a comfortable place to stay.
Although a regular at Crowne Plaza / IHG hotels, this was my first stay at Crowne Plaza Santiago. I was in room 1306. Street noise was not a problem, but the noise from the adjacent room was! The walls are thin! Breakfast is good, but there is no egg station, surprisingly. One day, they had put a huge platter of blueberries- something I have not seen anywhere else. See photo. Check in / check out can take time. I often saw long queues or significant waiting time. However, in general, it meets what I needed and I will be happy to come back.
Our second visit to Santiago this was our first tome at this hotel. It’s in an excellent location close by to a lot of things which can be walked to. They allowed us to check in early which was great after a 14 hour flight from London. We had room 2216 which was on the top floor with nice views. The bed was very nice and so was the shower. The best thing is we paid an extra $80 US, and for the two nights we were there and we were able to use the executive lounge which included breakfast and evening nibbles from 6.30 to 9.30 and at these times there was unlimited drinks including delicious wines, beers and a variety of spirits. It was very sociable here met some great people to chat the evenings away with. If we ever return to Santiago we would stay here. We wouldn’t consider any other hotel.
