Not worth $500 I spent for the weekend stay. The pictures make the hotel look nice but the room itself looks dirty and old. I saw some cockroaches by the sink. The shower looks very outdated. The shower head is old and needs to be replaced.

I walked into the room and immediately felt a sadness as if perhaps someone died a lonely death in there. This was the worst hotel I've ever experienced. The curtains had old stains on them. The room was dark, stuffy and old smelling. I didn't sleep well and rushed out of there the next morning. This place definitely put a damper on my Santa Cruz experience.

The hotel staff was nice, but the hotel itself was a dive. We had a drug deal going down outside on and off throughout the night, which was very scary with 2 teenage girls. The room was dirty and grungy. I could not stop sneezing and was having a hard time breathing the whole time I was in the room. The lamp plug was cut, so the lighting was bad. The breakfast was very limited, which is what I expected, but the yogurt was expired. We paid more for this room than we have ever paid in the past for a Hyatt room and was very disappointed. Never staying here again

Issues with bugs/cleanliness & missing ironing board 1st room but staff was accommodating & moved us to new room but missing hangers.

I went to a concert in Santa Cruz this is a convenient place to stay close to the beach and uber was fast to get to show

This was a very cozy and comfortable stay. Appeared recently remodeled.

For the price it was an ok hotel. The complimentary breakfast wasn't much, Cereal, Bananas, Coffee, Activia Yogurt , Toast and prepackaged Pasteries. There were two concerns in our room....there was a sewer smell coming from the toilet and the drawers hadn't been cleaned out.......clothing etc. left from prior guests. We mentioned it to the person at the front desk when we were leaving, he apologized, said he'd take care of it and offered us a good discount rate if we came back again. The outside grounds were clean but hotel was next to a busy road. Not a great place for a romantic get away but good enough if going with a friend.

This would have been a descend place if it was about half the price we paid.

Amazing for the price and great location. However, it was very noisy at night, you can hear people and the tv on the rooms next to you. I barely was able to sleep.

We found a room here on Valentines Day for our family and only paid $20 for the night. The room was clean, staff was friendly, free breakfast, VERY convienient location. The walls were very very thin though and we had to hear alm the V day aftermath from the rooms next to us lol. Other than that we loved the place and you sure cant beat what we paid!

So close of everything in Santa Cruz ! Not the super class hotel but perfect for one week end of visiting.

It is clean, decent, well supplied, breakfast of yogurt, fruit, cereal , bread, coffee & juice, quiet, wifi... friendly staff...For all of these, I would recommend Torch lite Inn!

I've learned my lesson! There's a reason it was cheap. The room was filthy. Popcorn and who knows what else on the carpet, and something sticky on the night stand. The worst part was the bathroom, mildew on the shower curtain, both kinds of hair all over the floor, toilet and shower, dirty toilet. Absolutely disgusting!

This hotel is at a noisy intersection. Traffic can be heard intermittently day and night. There is insufficient lighting in the breakfast area.

Large room with small fridge and microwave, and large TV that did not work well on the remote. Generally the place needs upgrading to more modern feel, but room was large and comfortable and great value for the cost.

I know it to be off season, but pricing was very reasonable & the room was surprisingly well appointed. First impression of exterior might be cause for concern but opening the door to the room revealed one of the nicest rooms of my budget minded visit.

The staff are helpful The hotel is few block from beach/boardwalk and downtown and shopping. The complimentary breakfast was good and it has nice heated Pool

Clean, cozy, and the free breakfast was great. Recommend

I loved the location but that was it. The staff was okay but not friendly nor helpful. The AC unit in the room was too loud where I couldn't sleep. The shower head wasn't great. Also, the next day I noticed I had had bites on my legs, it was probably from bed bugs. Overall, I wouldn't stay here the next time I visit Santa Cruz. It was over priced.

It was located not far from the boardwalk, everything was fine except breakfast said 7 but it didnt open till 7:30. The manager was not that friendly at all and the staff didnt understand when i asked for an extra towel for the pool. Pool was warm though and nice. I wouldnt say its a bad place to stay. Just dont expect to be welcomed with a smile.
