No food options at the hotel. Bar and restaurant were closed Sunday when we arrived at 5 pm. Disappointed. Could hear someone walking and running around on the floor above in the early morning and could not get back to sleep. Check in staff person was very nice.

I arived at 4:00 pm, at check in time, my room wasn’t ready. They took my information down and said they’d let me know when it was ready( they never did ). An hour later I was furious and went to the front of thr out of control line and told them I needed my room NOW. I had been on the road for over six hours and my son had thrown up all over himself. They finally gave me my room and I went to wash his clothes and I didn’t have change . I went to the front desk to get change for the washing machine, they informed me they did not have enough change to wash and dry, but I had enough to wash. I finally had enough to wash a load of laundry than the washing machine didn’t work. The following day I called downstairs for towels, they never arrived. The morning of checkout I called to ask for extra toilet paper and they said they would send it up, 30 minutes later I still didn’t get it. I called again and they said they’ll bring it up and they never did. I had to go find a housekeeper on one of the floors to ask them for a roll of toilet paper. I have stayed at this hotel twice, this is the place that we stay every summer for our Santa Cruz trip and I will never go to this hotel again. Our experience at this hotel put a damper on our entire trip. This was the worst stay I have ever had.

The exterior of property is beautiful as they are in pictures HOWEVER the Valet Parking ONLY option was annoying first of all because I don’t like having access to my car and second of all the valet was SOO unhelpful. They have you unload your car right at the entrance of the parking garage (I was almost hit by a car incoming in the parking lot). No one offered us a luggage cart or helped give any helpful information. We asked twice, so we just unload here in the middle of the drive way? Mind you, I also have a 3 year old in tow… so we had to take everything up with us, carry my 3 year old (cause we are in a parking garage with valet driving inches away from our car) and had to carry everything up ourselves. I would have really appreciated if someone would have offered us a luggage cart or something. I ended up leaving stuff in the car I needed cause I couldn’t carry it myself and my son safety. I felt like I was annoying the valet for being confused on where I’m supposed to unload and check in. As if that situation wasn’t annoying enough, a few hours later when we get ready for bed, I turn down the sheets and there was what looked to be sand and brown hair in the bed (my son and I have blonde hair and we hadn’t even made it to the beach yet). I couldn’t get a hold of front desk, so at 9:00pm, I had to walk downstairs and request clean sheets (which I changed the bedding myself cause they just handed them to me and didn’t apologize or offer to help). Grandkids had fun in spite of couple glitches

Family trip to boardwalk. Stayed here couple years ago and was nice so we booked again. This time though one of four booked rooms was not available due to staff check-in error; eventually fixed but meanwhile no parking available for that family. Still charged though for two days even though garage parking used one day. Couple rude employees as well; when I booked one room online I literally had to ask the clerk to quit yelling at me and to listen to what I needed; she literally had me in tears and ready to lose it. Would have cancelled all rooms if I wouldn't have lost lots of money.

Don’t let the name or looks fool you, HORRIBLE!

I recently stayed at a “high-end” Marriott in Santa Cruz, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Don’t be fooled by the beauty or the Marriott name the service and management here were absolutely unacceptable. • There was no parking available, and I drove around for 45 minutes trying to find street parking. Nothing was available within a 3-mile radius. When I asked the front desk for help, they actually laughed at me. I pleaded for a solution and was met with total indifference. I was forced to illegally park in a residential area. Because of this, we were never able to go back to the hotel to change after my daughter’s softball tournament, and we missed getting ready for our team dinner. • The valet was extremely rude and honestly seemed under the influence I wouldn’t trust him with anything, let alone my car. This hotel should seriously consider drug testing staff. • When I arrived late at night with my teenage kids, the elevator was broken. I didn’t feel safe leaving them alone or with our luggage, and when I asked the front desk for help carrying things up to the third floor, I got a firm “No.” Meanwhile, other staff were talking about their DoorDash orders on break. No offer to help, not even after their food arrived. • Our bathroom was disgusting with unknown substances splattered on the walls, and housekeeping never came the entire stay. • When we used all our towels to clean up a leak and asked for more, they told me I had to come get them m

Convenient

Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Close to pier and downtown. Left a shirt in room & they were eager to help; I pay for shipping label. Water bottles in lobby market for $9 & $10 ...ridiculous & outrageous. Website lists $25 for parking per nite & actually $30 when valet takes car.

Not worth the cost though. The toilet paper holder was broken and the decor was a weird 50s revival. I don’t know it was weird and would be better just modern. Also did not like that the electricity for the room only works if you leave a key in. That was odd.

We loved the valets!! They were respectful, courteous, & helpful! The overnight front desk was a little absent. I forgot my key & phone & was not able to get in until my husband came looking for me on each floor. The phone at the front door was missing g so there was no way to communicate with anyone.
