Good hotel

It was great except for one thing. I have a service dog and was told that she wasn't allowed on the carpet and that we had to sit on the floor side of the bar. According to the law my service dog is allowed everywhere I am, so she should've been able to accompany me to a table. We were able to eat, but that was a bit frustrating. I didn't want to make a scene and wanted to make this known via my review. We will need coming up again as the hotel was great, but will be bringing our own food. If you would like to talk more please reach out.

They have a crazy parking system and I got charges $18 a day plus tax for parking. They finally reversed the parking, but it wasted about 30 minutes of my time. Totally inexcusable. Plus I got two rent a cop parking tickets. This location is in a relatively remote location, so I don't see that they would be subject to parking issues. Plus, their breakfast was over $20 in a crappy dining room. Certainly not the level of a Hilton that I expected.

A+ for rural families

Resort was lovely, the trees were gorgeous and fragrant, the upper parking lot was busy on the weekend but tbh not even remotely similar to being anywhere IN Santa Cruz. Being from a small touristy mountain town we felt pretty at home. Even the drive down into Santa Cruz was doable for someone who is used to a super rural life, pace, and drive. No complaints from us.

Nice hotel. Close enough to Santa Cruz and Capitola(about 15 min drive to either). Friendly staff. Hotel feels like it’s in the forest. Will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Lobby and pool area. The food was good and the bar offers a great happy hour during the week. Comfortable beds with average bathroom. Did not like paying $20 for parking, as a rewards member, and ample parking available.

Odor and Dusty

The moment I opened the room, it has strong pungent odor. Look around the room and the bathroom to see where the odor came from, turned out to be the carpet. The filled in soap and lotion bottles had dirt landed on top meaning the house keeper did not refill them for a long time. The pillows were smelly with tiny knots…gross!

I took my teenage daughter and a couple of her friends to the boardwalk for a girls weekend. I got a king suite. The size of the room was perfect. The living room area was also a perfect size. They had plenty of space and so did I. I was excited that we had our separate bathrooms.

I honestly feel the price for this hotel is way over value. First off we paid extra in order to have a balcony expecting a view of some sort, come to find out we are on the parking level and have a view of the parking lot. And by no fault of the guests, this meant our night was filled with car headlights, car alarm beeps and people pulling up during random hours of the night. Secondly, the central cooling did not work and it was so hot and humid inside. We set it to cool and “on” and the room would not cool down, we opened our sliding glass door however with the headlights at night we had to close the curtain which kept the room stuffy. Thirdly we were not provided with a privacy placard for the door and when I called to ask for one at the front desk I was informed they were “out of stock but would come up and put a pet sign which will be equally recognized as privacy”. I never did receive that placard and it might seem petty but the ability to place that placard on our door while we are out adventuring gives me peace of mind which I did not have on our stay here. And lastly everything was just extremely pricey and the quality was not up to expectations, honestly. we had breakfast here which for the two of us it was $60 and the bacon was like cardboard and extremely salty. All in all the staff were plenty friendly but with the quality of this stay it's safe for me to say we will not be visiting here again or else I must redefine what "Hilton" means to me.
