Masia Mas d'en Giralt. 1722 Catalan Farm House near the sea in Sitges & BCN

MAS d'en GIRALT is a typical CATALAN farm house, called "Masía" listed and protected by the Catalan Government as building of Cultural Heritage and Architectural Interest. The first construction was done on 1722 by a French wine producer.

The house is located in the middle of the National Park of Garraf, 30 minutes from BCN International Airport, 10 minutes from SITGES, 40 Minutes from PORT AVENTURA. Easy access by train to Barcelona town center by train 35 minutes.

The area is full of small cellars were you can find the traditional CAVA produced using the old "mèthode Champenoise" used to make the area famous sparkling wines as CODORNIU or FREIXENET. Also restaurants and nightlife in SITGES and BARCELONA can make your holidays unforgettable. During the day you can enjoy the nice and well equipped beaches and the sea of Sitges, or explore the small wild "calas" small white sand beaches in the surroundings.

Mas d'en Giralt has been restored following the most precise old construction technics of the area used in 1700 and also has combined the last and newest technologies, energy saving devises and sustainable materials for the full reconstruction. The house is equipped with Solar Energy Power Plant which supplies electricity for dish washer, washing machine, fridges, water pumps, central heating, microwaves, LedTV , WIFI etc. Also water used in the house comes from rain water storage in the old ceramic wine tanks. It is a good experience for understanding how solar energy works, and verify that energy sustainability is possible.
The vacation home is heated and features a kitchen, 3 bathrooms, and a patio, and there's space to spread out with 5 bedrooms. Guests can expect to find a Smart TV with a DVD player. Property was everything we had hoped for. The home is a step back in time but with modern kitchen and bathrooms. Absolutely what we had hoped fora d more. The grounds have stunning view for every direction. The owner is extremely welcoming and helpful.

Unser Aufenthalt war sehr schön und sehr heiß. Jose hat sich bemüht, er hat uns sehr guten Tipps gegeben und Probleme schnell gelöst. Man muss sich in Klar sein, es ist kein Resort und es hat keine moderne Technologien. Es hat aber der Charme ein altes Haus und die Einsamkeit mit der Natur. Wir haben es genossen.

De merveilleuses vacances en famille...

Nous avons passé 2 merveilleuses semaines en famille (4 adultes et 6 enfants de 5 à 18 ans) dans la très belle maison de José. Située dans le parc naturel Del Garraf, cette maison rustique est un point de départ idéal de ballades à pied et en VTT. La jolie et animée station balnéaire de Sitges est à 15 minutes de route, ses plages de sables fins sont très propres et très bien équipées. Et Barcelone est à 30 à 40 minutes de voiture seulement. Nous avons fait de nombreuses excursions à la journée à Barcelone, tout en appréciant de retrouver le soir venu, calme et verdure dans la maison. José a été un hôte accueillant, sympathique et très disponible, et nous le remercions une fois de plus pour ces 2 semaines passées dans sa belle maison. Encore merci !
