Best Budget Inn Sandusky

We went a day early to use the pool and it was filled with rocks

This hotel was actually closed for remodel I believe comfort inn had purchased it to turn it in to suites. So I was moved accross the street to the comfort inn. For all the reviews of hotels I had seen in Sandusky comfort inn was a nice clean hotel that I would stay at again. About a 5 minute drive to cedar point and lots of dining close by.

This was a very clean room, the staff were great. Now the owners....must be VERY cheap. The beds were the cheapest they could get, not comfortable same for the pillows. You get what you pay for?maybee not here. I will spend the extra money next time for a better bed and soft towels at a different chain.

Couldnt beat the price and wasnt expecting much but I did expect it to have been clean at least. There were a couple of chips in the bed and someones hair on the pillow a bit of garbage around the bed. The shower had a chunk of soap in it so it was obvious that it wasnt cleaned either. Bed was hard, room was dated (didnt care much about that), and were kept up late by some rowdy kids at the pool. Breakfast was just a couple tiny pastries. Location was great compared to more expensive hotels. Decent hotel but expected it to at least be clean.

We stayed at this hotel for one night, the hotel looks abandoned but thankfully the rooms were fine. Very large room. No amenities and the staff were fine, if you are just looking for a cheap place to stay it'll work.

The hotel was not bad if you are looking for a clean room to spend the night

We have stayed here before. Good value and the staff are always great.

We booked our room 4 months in advance. They changed their name in that time, so we couldn't find the hotel at first with a new sign up. We unpacked and went out for a bit, upon returning we had no T.V., the next morning, no hot water. They moved us at this point cause no one could fix anything. Tried to take a shower in the new room and just got lathered up to have NO water at all. Sat on the side of the tub for 30 minutes waiting to rinse off. The staff could have cared less and made the excuse that they had only been opened for a week and that was quite apparent cause the cobwebs were still there. The rooms weren't cheap and this place was definitely not busy. You would think with an annual event coming up you would be ready to accommodate your customers. I realize this was not a 5 star hotel, but by no means is it a 3.

If you want a non-angry and honest review then read: I do agree that this hotel shouldn't be considered a 3 star hotel, like mentioned by others.. but it in no way is a bad hotel by any means. I stayed in room 219 and my room was very clean, there were no spiders or cobwebs, all the lighting worked, the Tv, shower, toilet, etc were fine and clean and worked great! I stayed here after Cedar Point and I will stay here again. I gave this review a 5 star rating overall, not because its the fancies or the most top notch hotel... but because I paid $50 for the room and feel like it easily couldve been $20 more.. so its a good deal and a nice place to stay for the money!

Was driving in from NYC (7-hour drive) specifically to visit Cedar Point Amusement Park. Since we were planning to spend all day at the park, we only needed a place to show and lay our heads before we headed back. At $50 a night, I didn't expect much..and that's exactly what I got. From the massive cobwebs and bugs that hung around the outside of my hotel room door to the shabby looking carpet that looks like it hadn't been changed since the 80s to the no-frills mattress, sheets and pillows (that were not changed during my stay, just simply "remade") and the ancient air conditioner and television set, at least I can say that my shower was enjoyable. Thankfully I didn't expect much for such a low price but the experience had me eager to check out and hit the road back east....

It was not the cleanest, or most updated. There weren't normal amenities like a hair dryer or continental breakfast, but it was a great deal for a place to lay our heads after a long day at Cedar Point. The staff was also very friendly and the pool was available anytime.

The place is definitely NOT a 3 star hotel, its a 1 star motel. First of all, it smells very musty & mildewy - almost to the point where it was difficult to stay in the room. There are no in-room amenities - wifi didn't work well, no fridge, no micro, no coffee maker, no hair dryer, not even a clock. But it was close to Cedar Point, beds are relatively comfy and without bugs, and shower is hot (but made for people 5'5" or shorter). Staff was very nice.

The staff at this hotel was great! But, I would not ever stay here again. The floors were stained and noticeably dirty. The bedspread and blankets had crusty stains on them, leaving us to put them on the floor while we slept. Even though the price was low it wasn't low enough for how unkempt this place is. The wallpaper in our room was stapled up where there was Noticeable water damage. Quite frankly we would have canceled our 2nd night if we wouldn't have lost our money. I do NOT recommend this hotel to ANYONE. Unless they start making changes and SOON!

This is a motel & is in no way 3 stars. 1 star is more believable. The beds were fine & the AC & shower worked but the room looked very run down. This is a motel & the other guests had very strange habits like leaving their doors wide open or hanging swimsuits on the railing. I was expecting a 3 star place & that is not what I got. Had I thought this was a 1 star my expectations would have been different. The place is fine if you are looking for 1 star.

First room was not the best I think they were working on it maybe gave me by mistake but second room wasn't bad just needs a frigid and microwave had to go buy one but good for family on budget

No alarm clock, ice machine broken - listed amenities not fulfilled Staff requested that we come and get our own towels from the lobby - none left in the room after "clean" on first day. Beds uncomfortable = back pain.

We got this hotel as a place to stay overnight on our trip to Cedar Point. The room was clean, but was in poor condition. The carpet by the sink was damp, the baseboards are missing, there are numerous patches on the doors and walls. The front door dead bolt was no working. Had to fiddle with the faucet in the sink to get the hot water to work. As a place to crash after the park it was ok, but I would not recommend for anything else

I wanted a cheap hotel. that is what i got nothing more nothing less.

First room we were given was not cleaned, we were given a new room that was clean with a bigger bed. Pillows and sheets were soft, but, bed was extra firm. Was a good place to stay if you are going to Cedar Point and you just need a shower and a place to sleep. Exactly what i expected for the price.

Our room was acceptable for the price. Wallpaper was falling off and the carpets were less than desirable but the bathroom was clean. Beds and pillows were pretty comfortable too. The pool seemed chlorinated and skimmed even though they definitely didn't worry about the scum at the bottom. My friend who also had a room reserved had a much worse experience! After 3 separate attempts at getting her into an acceptable room, she gave up. One had a door that you could've blown open (even when locked), 2nd room was not cleaned (bed unmade, pop cans on the tables, etc) and 3rd room had no working lights! Also, even with a non-smoking room the hallways smelled like they had a midnight smoking contest, very gross! All in all, for the price, our room served its purpose, but we will not be returning on our next Cedar Point trip.
