San Sebastian is one of my favourite towns and this is certainly one of my favourite hotels. The situation, the welcome by an extremely friendly ans welcoming staff, the breakfast, the room all faultless. I would recommend this hotel to anyone without a single reservation.
This hotel is in the heart of the old town where there are many bars and eateries within walking distance. The views out to the bay are phenomenal. We stayed in a double sea view room. The room was on the small side, but certainly comfortable enough for 2. We had amazing views of the water from out our glass door that opened to a Juliette balcony. The room was very clean. The bathroom was quite tiny but modern. The sink, however, had really bad rust/iron stains. The common spaces were comfortable. There’s a bar open all day where you can have drinks and snacks. We sampled a few items and the food was ok. We did book the daily breakfast as part of our rate. It was pretty decent. I would say that they seemed a bit understaffed at breakfast so it was hard to order items at times. I would also note that we arrived on a Sunday and found it extremely difficult to get a taxi from the train station. We were waiting in a very long line for over an hour at the station before we decided to give up and walk to the hotel. It’s a bit of a walk especially when you’re lugging luggage around and it was raining. I don’t know if there are less taxis available on a Sunday, but maybe check with the hotel before your arrival.
LaSala Plaza Hotel is a great find. It's located in the old town just steps from dozens of Pintxo Bars. Our room had a view of the harbor out to the ocean. It was just beautiful. The suites are large, modern, clean, light, and airy. Special mention to the hi-tech Grohe automatic toilet/bidet Check-in was flawless with a helpful front desk and a glass of champagne. Maid service was excellent and check-out efficient. Only quibbles: No wash cloths and no boxes of tissues. Love this place. Will go back.
We really enjoyed our time at Lasala Plaza, possibly one of the best hotels we went to in our trip around the north of Spain. Service was very correct and room was spacious with a lovely view over "La Concha". Nicely decorated and also modern and quiet. Breakfast was ok but could be improved specially given the price they charge. We'll come back when in San Sebastian.
The room was lovely, the fancy Japanese toilet didn’t work though and if you ask for more then 1 bottle of water you will be charged, I found this strange considering we were paying close to EURO300/night without breakfast. We spent 3 nights here en-route to Bilbao. When checking in we requested for a car transfer to Bilbao and to stop at Getaria for lunch and asked the front desk to book a nice sea side restaurant ... on the last night I inquired about the “restaurant” and to my surprise was told no such arrangements were made! I then requested again for the car to Bilbao to stop at Getaria for lunch the following morning and I will look for a restaurant myself. On the day of checking out AGAIN I was told “no such arrangements were made” and all the hotel could do is arrange for a direct transfer to Bilbao via the highway for EURO170. We were looking forward to a nice lunch, it’s our wedding anniversary - Lasala has let me down, I’m in hot soup!
We spent 3 nights at Lasala Plaza Hotel. The staff was helpful and provided us with a list of "must-try" pintxos bars. The roof top bar has a panoramic view of the beach. We were there during the film festival and the town was extremely crowded. The hotel is located in the old town area and it's within 5-10 min to all the well-known pintxos bars. I was irritated by the lack of Kleenex in the bathroom. The hotel only provided 3 pieces of Tempo style tissue in the amenity kit. OMG! For a 4-star hotel, a box of Kleenex does not cost that much.
This hotel is beautiful and the staff are great and very attentive. Our only complaints are that we were on the 2nd floor and at 7 am they have street cleaners operating below our window which despite the triple glazed sound glass was very loud and woke us up. Other than that the room while on the small side was beautifully appointed and the bathroom was very modern with a toilet/bide like they have in Japan. Very nice. It even has a massage function. A huge rain shower but no bath. Breakfast was superb and included in the price.
This was one of the far best stays we had. The rooms are extremely comfortable, especially the bed. They are kept very well clean and the service is exceptional. Bathroom has a unique toilet. The hotel suited right in the heart of the old city and is walking distance to any tapas restaurant or anything to see. We used the valet service which was on prompt at any time. Thank you, if we come back we are definitely staying here.
My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at Lasala Plaza to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I splurged on the top floor sea view deluxe suite. We had the corner unit and had 4 windows overlooking the Playa La Concha, as well as Monte Urguell. It was magical. This is a new hotel and the attention to detail is impressive. Extremely comfortable beds. Noise outside was never a problem and there were people strolling near the hotel at all hours. We ate at the restaurant our last night there and It was excellent. My husband and I wanted a place that was close to the action but yet beautiful and relaxing. This is IT. Michelin starred restaurants down the street, awesome cocktail bars and pintxo bars, loads of them, within a few blocks. Plus the beautiful beach and promenade right outside the hotel. We were there during the La Concha Regatta race and that was a treat to watch from our room as well as the fantastic rooftop bar/pool. Only issue was some flooding in our shower that occurred a few times. The staff took care of the mess immediately but I still don't know what the problem was. I would highly highly recommend this hotel. Staff was very accommodating, breakfast was good. It is very very pricey but worth every penny in my book. Can't wait to go back. Thank you very much Hotel Lasala Plaza.
Not sure how we could give this property less than 5 stars. It is outstanding in every way. We had an incredible view of the harbor and waterfront, room was exceptionally appointed with comfortable bed and bedding, staff was incredibly helpful, and breakfast was outstanding. And the location, perfect. Right on the edge of Old Town and more great restaurants per square block of anywhere I’ve ever been. Also right on the water and very easy to walk the beach and into the new part of this quaint community. San Sebastián exceeded our already high expectations and we can’t wait to return to the city and stay once again at Lasala Plaza.
