Best location, room size, cleanliness, design, personnel, breakfast, quality of sleeping, concierge and parking services. Wonderful experience, full value for your money! And if you want to make it ideal - just combine your stay in Maria Cristina with Eskerne Falcon city and Pintxo tour - and start dreaming about being back to San Sebastian!

Everything was so lovely in this hotel. Our room was great size with an enormous bed, and lovely big bathroom. Beautiful views overlooking the river. Dining there was great, good service from everyone and always helpful. Would recommend, great location too!!

Other than the fact that our room was not ready until 3 pm (which is actually the official "check in time"), everything else was excellent. Nice room ( though bathroom quite small), high level of service, great location.

Just back from a 4 night stay in San Sebastian staying at The Maria Cristina and we loved our stay we had room 210 a a premium river view and it was amazing, quite possibly the biggest most comfortable bed i have ever seen and slept in. The hotel is everything you would expect from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave amazing helpful staff superb decor and the most superb breakfast. we also dined in Saigon on our first night and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The dry bar is also great place to start your evening with a vast list of cocktails and drinks. The only thing i would say it would of been nice to have a Nespresso coffee machine in the room but other than that it was the most amazing stay. We hopefully look forward to re visiting again in the future.

Very impressive and imposing Belle Epoque building next to the River Urumea minutes away from many of the fascinating sites of San Sebastian. Grand entrance populated with elegant staff (and some guests) . We had a fantastic deal from one of those "" sites, but, as the sun was shining we upgraded to a corner suite with a huge terrace that gave me the opportunity to strut around in my vilebrequins before we did our first pinxto trip just after an expertly created cocktail exclusive to the Hotel. The staff are well trained and friendly in a way that adds to the style of the Hotel. There's a gym (somewhere ?) a cooking school that must be great for business bonding games and we had a lot of fun on their organised pinxto trip (well done Vicky) We had a sumptous breakfast on the delightful ground floor terrace, just to ensure we ate several times a day! I'd like to come back and try and re-trace some very happy steps around this sensual Town and this wonderful Savoy by the Sea

I think I could live in this hotel. It is so nice and the staff were incredibly helpful and respectful. We were upgraded to a Junior suite which was so nice with an expansive balcony with extensive stunning views. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom pure luxury. The only thing we missed was tea and coffee making facilities which are not common in Europe but always present in Australia.

Just returned from four nights at this hotel. It really is beautiful. Perfect mix of old style glamour and modern touches. We had a river view room with a small balcony which you could just step out onto to admire the river. The room and bathroom were huge. The only small issue we had was the air con seemed temperamental. If wasn't a major issue and we didn't mention it to the hotel. Sadly the weather during our trip wasn't the warmest so it wasn't so important. The location of the hotel is perfect. You are right in the centre of town with hundreds of bars, restaurants, and the amazing beach in walking distance. The breakfast is apparently 'the best in San Sebastián'! Whilst we didn't try any others, I certainly couldn't fault it. There was everything you could possibly want on offer to set you up for the day. The staff were very polite and efficient, as they were thoughout the whole hotel. The dry bar is a real highlight. The cocktails are truly amazing. We had a lovely four days in this city. The gourmet side is what it is famous for and it more than lives up to its title. We dined in the three Michelin starred arzak and many small bars all of which were incredible. We were surprised how cheap the food and drink was around the city. I can't recommend San Sebastián enough for all those foodie lovers.

We are 3 sisters and we took the Betty Davies suite. Hotel was gorgeous and very centrally located. Provided us with a useful map of all the good pintxo bars and what each one was famous for. Breakfast venue was so grand and beautiful. Spread was amazing, I think there was even caviar served. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Room was extremely comfortable and quiet. Will definitely return.

The staff was exceptional. My favorite is the beautifully done breakfast buffet. The food is excellent with local cheeses. The housekeeping staff is fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and helpful and the decor was fabulous. Our room was gorgeous.

This review is a little delayed but we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 day stay at the Maria Cristina. We had a beautiful 1 bedroom suite with a large terrace on the top floor that had an amazing view of the river and ocean. The terrace had plenty of space to lounge after a long day sightseeing (or just eating pintxos). Decor of the hotel was beautiful-preserving the historical quality but thoroughly updated. Breakfast was fairly expansive with only a small quibble that the coffee was self-service out of a Nespresso machine rather than served (a real tragedy, ha). Service was also at a high quality and I cannot remember any hiccups at all- from the front staff to housekeeping. Furthermore, the location is excellent- at the cusp of the old town but close to high end shopping. The MIMO location in the hotel also makes shopping for gourmet souvenirs easy with tons of high end gourmet products and cooking accessories. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
