The location of this hotel is great. Central location makes all activities a short walk. A guest is made to feel like the rich and famous. Betty Davis used to live here. It is so luxurious, it is easy to see why. The rooms are well appointed, good size and very comfortable. The Hollywood stars all stay here during the San Sebastián film festival. The staff treat everyone like they are famous. This is my favorite place in Spain

This is the best hotel in San Sebastian. At the city center close to the canal & little 5 mins walk away from the Atlantic Ocean.High luxury hotel.Great room and the food.Highly recommended.Very convenient to discover the city.

I visit many 'exceptional' places however this is the one that always delivers The service is impeccable. Every member of the team are super professional, friendly knowledgable and attentive - it's the constant small touches that they deliver that makes the difference. Rooms are sumptuous & divine beds make you never want to leave Alexandro in the bar is a joy to behold & has to be one of best bar people I have ever witnessed & the rest of team live up to his exacting standards All in all, worth every penny & as a hospitality person myself I can say only place I have found where I can enjoy, with delight, every minute as not one small detail is overlooked

Excellent Hôtel. Great service lovely staff and wonderful breakfast. Only complaint is the late timing of the room clean. 4pm both days. Overall expensive but worth it and right on the money in terms of the tapas restaurants and the old town.

For walking around some of the best Pintxos bars. Great for exploring the whole of San Sebastián. Very cheerful, helpful and accommodating staff. Apart from breakfast, which was very good, didn't eat here. Spoilt for too many restaurant recommendations!

We can't say enough great things about this hotel. My husband and I stayed here in September 2017 and found all of the details to be on point. From our experience at check in, to our interaction with the concierge, to the comfortableness of the room, this hotel exceeded our expectations. In addition, this hotel is located in a fantastic party of the city which is incredibly walkable to the main attractions that San Sebastian has to offer. Our #1 tour was with Eskerne Falcón at Discover San Sebastian. She is incredibly knowledgeable and made our time in the city a real joy. Thank you Hotel Maria Cristina and Eskerne Falcon for a fabulous San Sebastian experience!

Spent 3 pleasurable nights here. Every member of staff that I encountered was a true pleasure to meet and extraordinarily accommodating. I was traveling with a broken leg, an everyone tried to help me be as comfortable as possible; bringing extra chairs and cushions to elevate my leg... without being asked. Our room was very big and the bed was Huge... bigger than any kingsize I have ever sen. Bed linens were were soft and luxurious and topped the most comfortable mattresses and pillows. The bathroom was perfect with separate shower and bath and plenty of water pressure. I stopped in the lounge one afternoon and one evening and service was impeccable, and pricing was extremely reasonable for such a high caliber hotel. Breakfast was also very good, with great selection from the buffet, and a cook to order option. I've stayed at some of the finest hotels in the world, and Hotel Maria Cristina ranks in the top of the top.

Among the hotels my wife and I have stayed at are Claridge’s (London) and the Hotel Du Palais (Biarritz), so how does the Hotel Maria Christina compare? The staff were pleasant and efficient throughout; especially our waitress at breakfast. However, the Concierge, who did her best, wasn’t a real Concierge (and there is a difference) Having to pay for parking is not what you would expect Our river-view room was perfectly acceptable apart from the air-conditioning where it proved to be impossible to really heat the room using the in-room controls; nor did maintenance seem to be able to override the central control. The shower pressure was low and the head too close to the wall There was no comprehensive hotel directory which I find very helpful and the information provided on the television was very limited. Similarly, the availability of English language television channels was poor. It would be good to have access to Amazon Prime and/or Netflix or, failing this, access to a DVD player Breakfast was a puzzle. Limited choice. Not a grilled tomato or baked bean in sight. Tea isn’t made with warm water. Toast racks should be used to prevent the toast from going soggy I would have thought a good coffee shop had more profit potential than an Asian Restaurant and this seemed to be the only restaurant on the premises All in all, a disappointment. Claridge’s we will visit again. The Hotel du Palais we may visit again. The Hotel Maria Christina we won’t visit again

Attention to detail is clearly the motto of training for this hotel. Every aspect of this hotel is top notch. Upon check in, the process was smooth and professional. The bell hops assisted us with our bags and after check in escorted us to our room. Everyone welcomed us with a warm smile. The bell hop explained to us all the functions of our room. The consierges (Edurne and Rodrigo) were incredibly helpful in booking restaurants for our 5 night stay and in recommending day trips for us. If you know where you want to dine reach out to them in advance of your trip and let them know, some of the Michelin restaurants need an advance booking. The breakfast buffet is staged in a grand dining room offering many options from omelets, fresh fruit, cheese, meats and fresh squeezed OJ. The gym is freshly renovated with many cardio machines, free weights, machines and a stretch room. There is a bar on the main floor where the bartenders are masters of their craft. You order a typical cocktail (Gin and Tonic and Vodka Soda) and they make the drink with great precision, large ice cubes in a chilled glass. The walk to shops is 2 minutes and the beach is 5 minutes. Every detail of this hotel is over the top, you would not be disappointed with your stay here.

My sister and I stayed here for 4 nights. This place is absolute heaven. The room was so beautiful with rooms of the river (Room 312). Everyone at the hotel was just fantastic. Drybar was amazing. I cannot wait to return next year!!!
