We recently visited San Miguel de Allende, 2nd time around, always a delight and we will definitely visit this lovely city again but at another hotel. We booked online and liked the photos of the rooms but we did not get what we saw. We can't say it was bad but not as expected. It was pretty quiet and a good location for walking to everything. We booked our room including breakfast but to our surprise the first morning we asked where is the dining room......there is none and were told the restaurant they are affiliated with is a 3 block walk from the hotel!!!! We love walking but not for our breakfast as we always want to freshen up etc etc before we venture out for the day so this was a pain in the butt and so even though we paid for the breakfasts we would not be reimbursed. We did eat a couple of breakfasts at this other place but it was outside and a little cool. They offered to sit us inside but nothing was set up for that so we stayed outside. The rest of our time we went elsewhere very close by. We feel we should have been told this at the time of booking so of course we will not go back. Too many others to choose from. We also noticed that this hotel had no available brochures which might help a visitor. We noticed other hotels had lots of choices of brochures.

Found this hotel in Expedia. Love the reviews and the pictures they provided. The room is clean, the location is great, very quiet place to stay. My recommendation to the hotel, should plant more and the some areas should be tidy up and maintain it. It wasn't the same on the web. Still enjoying to stay. Definitely recommended

Good location to walk around the city, very simple, old but clean. Basic hotel. Big room. Cozy Place. No amenities, bar, restaurant, pool. It is just a room to stay and enjoy the city of San Miguel de Allende

This is a great hotel. The location is excellent. It is very clean and well kept. The rooms were spacious. The bed was comfortable. The downsides are the street is very narrow and it is difficult to load and unload a vehicle. It is also a bit noisy. Bring ear plugs.

We really wanted to like this boutique more than we did for our one night stay. Pros: The location is excellent. The price was reasonable. Our room (102) was very clean and spacious. The shared spaces and patios are very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided at a local restaurant via coupon was very good. Cons: Our room was cold and dark. There was no heat in our room. Our king bed was made with only a sheets and a decorative foot runner. No duvet or bed spread. This seems odd for winter time. One thin blanket was in the closet. We were provided with 2 other mismatched blankets when we asked although they were much smaller than our king size bed. There was no hot water at any point in our room. We didn't report it as we were there only one night and we showered upon return at our hotel in Queretaro. It was disappointing as the shower in our room was nice with good water pressure.

It is not that inexpensive for a dirty experience.. actually nothing really is right? We weren’t expecting coming to San Miguel but had a early meeting Monday here so, spent one night and since it is entering the city, we found it convenient! We found hairs in the shower, bar quality toiletries, tv the size of my iPad, bathroom needed paint, and dusty bed frame. I wouldn’t do it again!

Stayed here for 3 nights, staff was friendly and accommodating. The first room I got had a full glass front door (all the rooms have fully glass doors!!) and the curtains did not block out everything, but they gave me another room that was satisfactory when I complained. Hot water was plenty and the pressure was great - I am *very* picky about my showers and no issues here.. everything worked as expected. Note that this place does not have a restaurant but there are plenty of inexpensive options nearby so it's not a big deal. The fact that it is on a quiet street away from any noise is a plus. For some amazing food try El Manantial - it's a nondescript place, could almost miss it, very close and has some killer tacos and amazing Tamarindo Margaritas!!

Our room was away from the street on a quest, tree shaded exterior walkway on premises. The outdoor and indoor spaces were "romantic" in detail. The bed was comfortable, hot water available, and overall clean.

This is really a very nice historic building with very individual rooms. Unfortunately we did not know that you do not get a breakfast or even a coffee or tea there, which is rather ununsual for a "hotel". I did not expect a lot, but at least a Coffee machine would have been something. There is free parking, but you will have to walk 10 blocks to the parking lot. A little Spanish is helpful, because they do not talk a lot of English. Our room was large, a little dark. Huge historic bathroom with low water pressure. TV didn't work (which we didn't mind). WIFI available, but you have to ask for it.

We spent five nights in a Deluxe Suite at the very back of the property. We normally stay in Airbnbs, but this place ended up being more affordable than many around SMA. The room was comfortable and charming, if a little shabby in minor ways (broken lamp, stained throw pillow). The water was hot and water pressure was great, the bed was comfy, and the courtyard area outside was beautiful. The room was cool enough in April with the window open and fan on. Wifi did not work for us, but I'm sure it depends on the room. The location--a quick stroll away from the Jardín--is hard to beat. I think the appeal of this place depends on what kind of service you're looking for. We are the type that like to arrive at a hotel, throw our bags down, and venture out to explore. Check-in took about 30 seconds and we barely talked to the staff, though someone was always at the desk anytime we had a question. I liked that they were unintrusive, but I can see how the laissez-faith attitude could be frustrating for other travelers. Stay here if you're looking for a well-located and affordable home base.
