The woman at the front desk was very unprofessional. Didnt want to provide me with change, instead wanted to just keep the cash I handed her for a pet deposit. Ended up getting the deposit back when I checked out. She made a comment about handicapped people, joked about us booking a handicapped room. We actually booked our room through Orbitz, booking a King bed room, we didnt intentionally book a handicapped room but I was disturbed by her weird comments. Overall not impressed. We have stayed at many Motel6 locations all over California, this one was the worst.
Basic. Nothing special but it works for a place to sleep for cheap in the Bay Area.
Not pet friendly. They accept pets but have no grass or other area to allow dogs to toilet. I was told to walk them on the sidewalk or back alley which is filthy and felt unsafe at night. The only redeeming quality is location; you can walk to the SAP center for an event in 10-15 minutes.

The hotel room was dirty & smelled. When we inquired about the smell the hotel manager was extremely rude, cursed at us and kicked us out of the management office. I have traveled to many third world countries & this is one of the worst hotels I have ever been to. In addition they call it the "Conversion Center" Motel 6, but it is not nowhere near the convention center. It is just BS. On a side not I have stayed at a few other Motel 6's, not usually this bad. This one in particular is awful. Stay away.
Wood floor looked OK and clean, but a bed sheet has some black spots everywhere that looked as if it was burnt or exposed to excessive heat. It should be replaced. No hair dryer. Woke up next morning and saw a roach coming out from a hidden area under the bed.
For the last 10 years I usually stay at the Arena Hotel when I drive down from Humboldt to see the Pittsburgh Penguins in San Jose. This year I didn't make a reservation in time and I chose the Motel 6. Over the years I watched the Motel 6 continue to upgrade the inside and outside (the whole radius around the SAP Center had ). The clientele improved from transients to guests. I think they have done a lot to cater to the sports fans. The staff were great and the room was clean. The towels are thin, but that reduces carbon emissions and global warming when they need to be washed. I left my favorite pillow by accident and they mailed it back to me for $15! Thanks Motel 6 - Great job!
The pictures make the room look so much bigger than it is. Craftsmanship in the room was horrible. After the housekeepers came in and cleaned the floor was still dirty. They didn't even sweep. It was highly disappointing.
I found myself in need of a last minute room in SJ. Earlier in the day I checked availability just in case, on my office computer and saw that this place had rooms. I dropped by and asked for a room. The parking lot was almost empty so I knew that had rooms. I was told that the lower rate was only if i book online and my drop-in rate was much higher! I asked to borrow their computer...request denied! I went down the street to a FedEx Office Store and for $3.35 I was able to book an online room. I went back to the motel and got a cheaper room. However in my haste I must have selected a smoking room by accident and even tho the lot was empty and there were plenty on non-smoking rooms they would not change my reservation to non-smoking!! My room smelled like stale cigarettes!
