A great experience! The hotel offers beautiful scenery, magnificent service and memorable accommodations. Located close by to San Jose, our stay was wonderful. We stayed at the master suite which is incredible. Thanks Alta!

We stayed here on our first night in Costa Rica. Our room was clean and comfortable. We couldn’t assess the view or other amenities as it was night time and we were tired. The staff from front of desk, bar and restaurant were helpful and friendly. If we were to return we would stay in this perfectly situated practical quiet hotel.

I was looking for a quiet place to retreat while waiting for my flight out of Costa Rica after an intensive retreat the week prior. This was the perfect place to enjoy my last 24 hours in the country. Gorgeous view from the balcony of my room. The staff was warm and attentive. Delicious food in the restaurant! Excellent service. Beautiful design, lots of open windows to appreciate the views. I loved the quiet beauty of the hotel. My only complaint was that they were not able to accommodate a late check-out request, but they did encourage me to stay at the hotel as long as I wished, to use the pool and gym and store my bag while enjoying the last hours before my flight. I hope to return for a longer stay next time. What a gem of a place!

A little out of town, but in a lovely situation with good views over the city, this hotel deserves to be more than a "stopover". Very stylish decor, attention to detail impressive, staff helpful and attentive, food good. Rooms clean, comfortable and quiet. A slight warning is that there are quite a lot of steps in the hotel. We wished we could have stayed longer. For those who have a little spare time, there is a superb animal Refuge within very easy walking distance.

This property sits high on a hill about 30 minute drive from the San Jose International airport. Our fourth floor room was simple, but had a nice balcony offering great views of the mountains and town below. There seems to be a nice breeze all the time which made for great sleeping. The bed was firm, but comfortable. There was a TV in the room with lots of channels, including two stations in English (including CNN). The service in the restaurant was very good. Our salads and fish entrees were good, but the sauces accompanying the fish were too heavy.

We were only overnight as on way to Arenal. From airport time about 40 minutes due to traffic Welcome, was friendly and comprehensive. We had a welcoming drink and went to our room. This was well fitted out with all necessary items and very clean. There was a patio area overlooking well kept garden and pool. As we were late it was straight to bed and then up for an early breakfast. The food was a choice, typical Costa Rican or continental. We had the continental which was really lovely, fresh fruit. Granola and yoghurt, pastries juice and coffee. All first class. Definitely will return. Incidentally all staff were extremely helpful

With the exception of Luis on the front desk the staff were arrogant and unhelpful. The floor in the dining room was filthy with crumbs and foods debris when we sat down for lunch.... and the same debris and crumbs were still there at breakfast the next morning. On complaining to the waiter we were told that they could not clean because the manager did not like guests to see cleaning staff! Everything was at an extra charge . Wanted 20$ for having room for an extra hour, and wanted to charge extra for fruit at breakfast. We would most definitely NOT stay here again .

My daughter and I spent two nights at this hotel over Christmas. The location was lovely. Up in the hills, great views, fresh air. The hotel is very charming. The room was comfortable and attractive. The food was excellent (particularly the chicken breast dinner that I ordered on the second night). The pool is small but very nice. My only issue was that the doors to the balcony tended to bang back and forth in the wind. We were more or less able to stop that using a magazine. But there must be a better way to get the doors to stay still. We appreciated the proximity to a wildlife sanctuary where my daughter was able to volunteer for the day.

We unfortunately only stayed here for 1 night. We arrived after an 11 he flight from the UK and then about another hour from the airport. On arrival check in was very quick and easy and we were greeted with a welcome drink. Reception staff were very friendly and informative. We went to our room which was very large with a huge bed, very clean. The bathroom was also very clean with an excellent shower and plenty of hot water. The lines was super soft and the bed and pillows extremely comfortable just what we needed after a long journey. We are in the hotel restaurant to which the food was good, staff helpful although their English wasn’t great as our Spanish wasn’t either! We had an early start the following morning but managed to have a quick walk about the hotel in daylight and the grounds are lovely with a small swimming pool as seated area. The views over the valley were fantastic. No trouble sleeping it seemed a very quiet hotel. If ever we get the chance to visit Costa Rica this would be my choice of hotel for the beginning/end of my trip. Due to it being so close to Christmas there were Christmas trees and other decorations which looked very pretty.

Stylish small hotel with spacious rooms all with terrace or balcony. Lush surroundings and nice pool space. The location is quiet and convenient in a smart suburb of San Jose with plenty of nice restaurants close by. We found the staff very welcoming and accommodating. Not much variety in the restaurant especially breakfast. Super comfy beds, bathrooms in need of updating Overall a good experience 😀
