This hotel has a great location and shuttle to the mall and shopping centers. Bteakfast is great!! A goid variety of fruit and typical breakfas!! The service is great, they take good care oc evey detail!! Stay here is the best decision!!

It took us about 30 minutes to come to this Holiday Inn from the Airport. it is located in a kind of commercial plaza with many restaurants and near two shopping malls. Rooms are large enough with a king bed, a desk with plugs to charge devices, a large TV, a fridge, safe case, and a spacious toilet. However, the WiFi conection is slow and some times horrible. Breakfast is normal, but poor compared to othe Holiday Inns. The personnel is very friendly and always helpful.

If you are in the unfortunate position that I was and find yourself alone with a husband admitted to the Cima Hospital, this is the best hotel to be in. It is only steps away from the hospital and I felt safe and comfortable staying in the Holiday Inn. the staff were exceptionally kind and understanding of my predicament. The Multi Plaza within walking distance for those emergencies toiletries you need for an unexpected stay. I also found a hair salon very close by called BACKSTAGE. Having a cut and blow dry was what I needed to boost my spirits whilst I was waiting for visiting hours in ICU in Cima Hospital. The lovely Kency working at the salon spoke excellent English so it was wonderful to have someone to chat to about my situation. I was really happy with my hair cut and the cost was about a third of the cost of a similar treatment in England. The salon is about 10 minutes from the Holiday Inn. From the Emergency Exit of the Cima Hospital just cross the car park and to your left you will find a few steps and at the and of a pathway you can find the BACKSTAGE Salon. Thank you Holiday Inn and Kency at Backstage for making my trip a less stressful one. I would love to return one day in happier circumstances.

The hotel is conveniently located near San Jose's best mall, the Multiplaza Mall. It is also located in a trendy area near quiite a number of good restaurants. The hotel is well looked after, staff is friendly and efficient. The rooms are nice and modern with an excellent wifi. Bathrooms are also roomy and the shower is very good too. I would recommend the rooms on the east side of the building as the ones on the west side face a large PriceSmart store... Breakfast is fairly good but have seen better breakfasts for sure.

Short three day stay. Staff brilliant, room comfortable and location perfect for my purpose. Small dining area where breakfast and all meals are served is adequate and the food was always good and served with a smile.

Tons of restaurants just out the door and a mall within walking distance so for a night it was fine. If we would have spent our entire 2 weeks in San Jose this is not a location that I would have picked. Rooms are clean and included breakfast was okay. The morning we were checking out was before breakfast was served and the manager on duty offered to get us some sandwiches to each while on the road which was very kind.

I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights as my husband was in CIMA hospital which is next door. The room was beautiful and the service was good. There are many restaurants almost out the door and there's upscale shopping within 10 minutes walk. The hospital is a 5 minute walk. The breakfast was fantastic and I also ate once in the hotel restaurant which was also gook.

Pros: - great location - provides shuttle service, cheaper than the local taxi service - provides free shuttle for a range of 1 km radius - nicely located rooms - extremely polite and helpful staff Cons: - Breakfast option is limited - small .. extremely small swimming pool

Very nice hotel, clean, comfortable beds. I stayed 4 nights in January and would definitely recommend it. There are wonderful restaurants close by and the buffet breakfast is very decent. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed 4 nights in January 2018, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked a 1-king leisure room but when we arrived because we were IHG we were given a free upgrade to a larger room with 2 king beds, which we accepted. The room did have 2 beds but they were not kings, they measured 54-55 inches wide which in North America is a double (also called full) sized mattress. We don’t know what actual sized mattress we would have had in the original “1-king” room. The beds were good, on the firm side, 2 types of pillows, 4 per bed, with duvet cover. Huge window, large room, lots of space, dated but clean. Room wifi worked well, only one down time. Our room was on the back side of the hotel, pretty good view overlooking the highway and mountains, third floor. The loading docks for Price Smart are on this side, and in the early morning we heard a few beep-beeps as the trucks backed up, not enough to wake us up, and drowned out by the a/c if it was on. A/C was good, very responsive. Rooms as the front of the hotel also have a good view of mountains which are much closer than the mountains at the back. We could hear the highway traffic, but it was distance and easily covered by the a/c. Previous comments that the walls were thin was supported when we found there is a volume limiter on the TV sound, and even turned up full we could hardly hear it, and if the a/c was on we could not hear it. We didn’t complain, didn’t have it on much. Our neighbors were quiet, only heard a few voices, no prob. Cute pool on the top floor but very windy, cushions removed as they would blow away. Shallow pool, about 2.5 feet deep. The whole pool area was in shade by 2:30. Nice views both ways. Small gym with the basics. Nice free breakfast, several hot choices, omelettes made to order. Free local area hotel shuttle 10-10. The hotel location is perfect, next to the chic Tempo Mall, with the upscale Avenida Escazu perhaps 200 yards one way past the international hospital, and the huge Multiplaza mall the same distance the other way. Tempo Mall is commercial offices including Enterprise Car Rental, and chic eateries, both sit-down and stool-counter service, with a pretty boulevard with seating down the center. In the evening the 10-12 eateries at the back are a social hangout, very busy, stools at the counters and some tables too, more tables on a veranda, upscale and interesting, many different food themes, lots of action. Totally safe at night to stroll around. Avenida Escazu is a chic few blocks of retail stores, apartments, offices, and a good food court. Seating out on the avenue for people watching and sunning. Again very pretty and total safe at night. Multiplaza Mall is huge and upscale, 4 floors, the halls go on for ever. Good food court, go in the entrance where the shuttle drops you, turn left when you see the ice cream kiosk, and up the escalator. Other eateries scattered here and there. It’s also an easy walk from the hotel, a few hundred yards. When you walk over the bridge have a look down the huge deep ravine. It also has a good grocery store. There is also a Super Walmart about a mile away. Cabs at the hotel cost more than out at the road. Hotel cab to downtown is $18, cab out at the road is $14 (7000 colones) (too far for shuttle). Hotel cab to airport is $28, cab at road to a/p is $20. Local bus stops going both ways half block from the hotel. Many different city bus companies and routes, schedules, web sites report it’s too complicated to describe, they suggest you ask a local which bus to take. We like to try local busses but this was too iffy for us. The hotel recommends a tour company, MOV something, we had 2 different drivers each called Victor, great job. Irazu Volcano half day for $150/2 or 4 ppl, and Braulio Carillo park half day $110/2 or 4 ppl. Other group tours all want to depart around 6:30 ($65-70 pp), too early for us. MOV do private tours, you choose the pick-up time (9:00 for us), back for lunch. Our room was priced in the mid 100’s. If we came here again this is where we would stay. The Courtyard across the highway is too inconvenient. If you want a 5-star the Intercontinental is on the other side of the Multiplaza Mall, priced in the mid 300’s.
