We have stayed at this hotel several times. We have never had a problem. The rooms are clean. The location is excellent. It is right near the mall, multiplaza, a very large Mall. It takes five or ten minutes to walk there. It's right across the street from several good restaurants and shopping. The breakfasts are good and served buffet-style but they will cook eggs to order if you wish. The best part about this hotel though, is it staff. We have been coming here for several years and the staff is largely the same. They are friendly and quite kind. In particular, Maria at the front desk has gone out of her way to be helpful. Also, Jorge and Geraldo are available when needed. They can drive you short distances and answer questions about the area. Everyone is always smiling here! This hotel is close to a private hospital, Cima, and many guests stay here when they are having medical or dental treatment. Also, many business people use this as a base. Travelers can catch tours from here , so, all around, a good place to stay.
Stayed here because it was close to a customer. I'd say it looks a feels kind of like a Motel 6 in the States. The pool and grounds looked very nice. The room was clean, and on the backside it was very quiet. I believe the front side of the building is new construction and may be better appointed then the backside. But may be noisier. I don't know. I would say the biggest draw back are the dining options. The only breakfast option at 7 a.m. is Denny's on-site. Greasy and pretty much what you'd expect from a Stateside Denny's. The Casino has a kitchen, that is truly not bad for dinner. I had a really great seabass with perfect mashed potatoes two nights in a row. The Ceviche was excellent as well. The ambience though is extremely lacking. You are smack in the middle of a small cheezy casino. And the basically turn the lights off in the small dining area at 9 p.m. and won't turn them back on. Making it pretty dark to eat. And not in a good way!
I was very pleased with the breakfast wait staff, they were intuitive and prompt allowing me to have a great start to my days there. The shuttle to the airport and close proximity to the Metro areas make the stay convenient.
Lots of restaurants just across the hotel building. 7 min walk to the shopping mall. Good stop-over hotel before continuing your travel elsewhere. Noelia makes you feel very welcome everyday at breakfast.
Stayed in this hotel before and after a diving holiday. The front desk were efficient and friendly. The rooms were spacious and had a good standard of cleanliness. The room i was given on my second stay could have used a bit of a refresh but there was nothing wrong with it. The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and there is a small store for food and drinks nearby. there is a very large shopping centre 15 mins walk away. On checking out the hotel waived the charge for breakfast because "they enjoyed me staying with them." Thank you very much. I would stay here again and i would recommend this hotel to my friends.
The last time I stayed here was January. My colleagues have all started staying at the Residence Inn because the service here is so bad. While I was here six months ago I reported that two lights were out and the toilet didn't flush right. They said they'd get it all fixed while I was out for the day, but when I came back nothing was fixed. Being typical service here I didn't bother complaining again. Now I'm back, six months later. They put me in the same room- the lights are STILL out and the toilet STILL has problems.
We rented 3 room for us and our 4 adult children. We parked in the underground parking garage. The rooms were all very clean. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance - we ate dinner at PF Chang's. We ate lunch at a little Mexican Restaurant within the mall that the Holiday Inn is attached to - it was VERY GOOD! (I lost my "tripadvisor tips notebook" so I do not recall the specifics of the foods we all got but it was YUMMY), we sat outside with a great breeze blowing through the tunnel. Also a Starbucks nearby. We all walked everywhere, we never felt unsafe the entire trip. Breakfast was average- what we have come to expect in other countries. The only negative comment that I have is that the pool is only 2.5 feet deep, we just sat on our butts in it.
We live in Costa Rica, so transit through San Jose several times a year. This hotel is one of our favorite places to stay because of its location and because we always get such good service from the hotel staff. This time we were there on Father's Day and Liliana D. made it special for me. She welcomed us to the dining room with such a beautiful smile and Happy Father's Day, then made sure we got the extra touches that made it not as bad being far from our kids. We like to park in the underground garage and pretty much just walk places from there. Within an easy walk are a big modern mall, two movie theaters, Starbucks, medical facilities and specialists, a PriceMart store, a variety of restaurants, and a pretty outdoor setting complete with twinkling lights, sculptures and a dancing water fountain. In all of our walks around the area we have never felt threatened or insecure. Obviously we wouldn't stay there if we didn't feel comfortable and safe. For reasonable rates we always get cozy beds, reliable climate control, peaceful quiet and staff who feel like friends after just a few interactions.
Call no way this hotel was definitely an unexpected pleasure. The rooms were clean lots of towels little bit shy on hot water but great room very large great TV and credible Wi-Fi plus the food was very very good the restaurant was excellent highly recommended
The G.R.E.A.T. Program conducted a week-long training session. Meeting room was very acceptable, sleeping rooms were wonderful, staff were accommodating, and food was delicious. Kudos to Steven, Viviana, Valentina, Ronny, Jorge who went above and beyond. I have recommended to my company that we contract with this Holiday Inn again. I would also stay here for a personal trip. Hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, the malls, a grocery store, and movie theater.
