Recharging in Santa Ana

Bart' property is very calming and in a great location. Security, pool, and available services around are phenomenal! Just the right amount of vacation space to enjoy and other than all the green parrots for an early morning alarm clock, Muy Bueno!!!

Great Apartment

This is my second time staying at this property. I really love it, it is secure, clean, and have everything you need to spend sometime in the city. The complex is great for kids and the restaurant is super good.👌

Very peaceful and restful!

This was a great place and very well worth the money. The wind caused some noises during the nights but you just roll over and continue sleeping. Forget about an alarm clock as a squadron of green parrots always are gathering and chattering around 5:45AM to wake you up and welcome the sun coming over the mountains! It was a change of pace from our Cockatoo, who just screams! LOL Rio Oro also has a lot of great things right within walking distance and everyone is very welcoming. Pura Vida!

Ridiculous Security

The actual unit is as presented however I have never experienced the problems I have encountered at any other VRBO I have used around the world in my travels. It started with check in getting thru the gate was the first challenge. I asked for the access codes the day before I traveled that request was denied. I caught an early flight and there was no layover in LAX. Arrived on a rainy night not realizing that I had no phone service even though I contacted T mobile in advance about the need for an international plan. (not happy with T mobile either). Upon arriving at my door I had no access code, no phone and no way to use my laptop. Thankfully there was a kind neighbor walking her dogs who allowed me into her net work and I was able to access the codes for the apartment. Any thing associated with the unit was just moving in issues. The over riding complaint for which I will never consider staying at this complex is the security. The people are just doing their jobs it is their stupidviser who mandates abusive security for anyone getting in. I am ex military and I have accessed multiple bases around the country and have never encountered the ridiculous disorganized security that Avalon inflicts on people. After four days I became recognized and I personally had no more hassles. However visitors were put thru endless grief to the point I met off site. The security issue continued until my departure. The uber was not allowed in and I had to drag my luggage about a quarter mile to the main gate to catch my uber. The uber was not let in but all the motorcycles with food were allowed in. Maybe I haven't communicated the bad taste this facility has left with me. If I was offered a free unit I would not accept it. In all honesty this is the first negative review I have ever had to write regarding a VRBO and in the future I am going to be much more discerning in evaluating a potential location.

Difficult

1. The check-in was very time consuming. We would not have been permitted in had we not had a call to property manager and we waited a very long time at the gate before we were finally let in. Property manager didn't even tell us the unit number. 2. You have to show ID at the gate every time you enter and owner does not give you an electronic parking pass. This is time consuming and tedius. They treat us like criminals at the gate even though we are staying for 4 months total. 3. There is no "hotel style" security lock on the inside of the apartment, so kids can get out easily. We requested one, and they said they would install one, but then no follow through on their part. 4. The internet only works in the living room. So forget watching netflix, connecting to work, or facetiming your family from your bed. 5. Friends. You came to CR to make friends or visit family. Well they don't tell you in advance you cannot treat this as your home and have any guests come sit at the pool with you. So its far less convenient than a hotel for visiting, unless you want to be a hermit. I would not stay here again or recommend the place unless this works for you.

A beautiful property nestled in the serene and picturesque Santa Ana neighborhood. Incredible views of San Jose from the restaurant and pool area and beautiful hills above the property.
