From your first steps into the Inn, you feel welcome and immersed in the beautiful Victorian decor. There are friendly greetings and many hospitable touches, like scattered bowls of candy and fruit, fresh flowers, and carafes of sherry. We have stayed in several of the rooms, most recently upgraded to room 24, which is luxurious, almost a separate apartment. The garden is a beautiful touch, and the rooftop views are awe-inspiring. It is a wonderful place from which to base a trip to San Francisco.
My girlfriend and I spent the last night of our highway 1 journey in Inn San Francisco and feel absolutely blessed to have had such a unique and splendid experience. From the moment I spoke with Marty on the phone, I knew that we would be well taken care of. We loved the wooden hot tub and the overall ambiance of our room. I honestly can’t imagine staying anywhere else the next time I go to San Francisco. From soup to nuts, we were completely satisfied. PS Guppy is cute.
We stayed here for our anniversary and this place truly exceeded every expectation. When we arrived, we were greeted warmly and courteously and shown to our beautiful room with a brief tour. We enjoyed the hot tub, wine, snacks, the lounge area (complete with eclectic Victorian reading material), the rooftop view, and a beautiful breakfast spread. Everything was gorgeous and perfectly Victorian while remaining sparkling clean with modern conveniences. Location is killer to boot. I would, and will, absolutely stay here again.
Yes this place with its 21 rooms is quite charming but some improvements, especially in our room 44, are needed. First, this room has the toilet behind a curtain which for some may not be a big deal but I would have liked to have known about this ahead of time. The large, tub/shower combo requires a very flexible person with long legs to get into. Thankfully we both fit the bill but most would not. The water in the shower turns hot when the toilet is flushed, and the bass of the hot water handle being solid brass, will burn your hand. The lighting by the mirror is terrible for putting on makeup, shaving or just seeing one's face. And a dirty heating vent near the floor and a raggedy rug in front of sink do not make good first impressions. The breakfast is excellent with quiches, Greek yogurt, much fresh fruit, sweet and savory breads, meats, juices, teas and coffee till 11 a.m. The staff is very nice and helpful. All of these suggestions I left on a comment card, that together with bowls of chocolates, are available in the rooms.
Fell into this by accident for a one night stay in SF. Very nice and welcoming...and VERY clean. In the morning, the food spread was over the top wonderful! Great location. I will go again.(I stayed in the small room downstairs since I was solo this trip).
My third time returning to the Inn. I just plain love it. Reasonable rate for single room with bath accross hall. Perfect for someone appreciates the best of Victorian opulance in the Mission District of SF. The breakfast is superb and everyone is most pleasant and helpful. A most enjoyable experience, again.
A place to exhale in the city. Step back in time. Enjoy a beverage in the parlor. Listen to the city while enjoying the roof’s 360* view. Rejuvenating resthouse at a reasonable price with a gorgeous experience in return. Comfortable, accommodating, solo or with a group, The Inn nails it.
This is my second visit to the Inn San Francisco and I now feel I have a home away from home. The staff couldn't be warmer or kinder or more helpful. The rooms are charming, telling of days long gone of San Francisco style and elegance. An exceptional breakfast is served in the morning...you can smell the coffee brewing while you're taking a shower! It's immaculate, cozy and quaint...something not easily found in hotels or inns today. I highly recommend!
We stayed here for 3 nights, and we loved it. The room we chose was the small room (room 12), which was very small and if we went back I think we would have opted for a bigger room but it was still lovely decorated and had it's own bathroom with bath and shower. The staff were really friendly, and you always felt welcomed whenever you came through the door. The breakfasts were the best we had on our trip of California, so many options and great quality. The hotel was immaculate, and had nice extra touches such as lovely dressing gowns, postcards and sweets on the dressing table. We got to meet Guppy too and we loved him :) Parking was convenient and easier to navigate than we thought! Area was great, so many restaurants. We will 100% come back here in future.
We had a wonderful one night stay at The Inn San Francisco as a stopover night on our way to Napa. We were welcomed warmly by Marty, who gave us a great overview and tour of the house. It's a beautifully kept Victorian in the heart of Mission. Our room was a medium sized room on the third floor and was very cozy. Marty gave us great recommendations for dinner locations that were within walking distance. The breakfast spread the next morning was fantastic with lots of options. We had a great stay at The Inn San Francisco and will definitely come back next time we're in town!
