The whole place is both relaxing and photogenic! I was traveling solo and stayed in room 36. I noticed that although the building is old, the bathroom didn't have the stains and grungy-looking caulking/tile work that a lot of old hotel bathrooms have; it was quite clean. I slept well in the comfortable bed. I chose the location because my son lives nearby, and was pleased that the staff made sure to let him know that he was welcome to join me for breakfast each morning. Although breakfast is officially from 7-11 each morning (and the food is kept fresh, with fruit platters and quiches refreshed throughout the morning), the owner told me it's actually available from 6:30-11:30. He said they want breakfast to be convenient for their vacationing guests, not for themselves. As a tea drinker, I was delighted that I could choose from a large selection of teas 24 hours/day. In the evening, I often sat in the parlor reading, enjoying a cup of tea, and chatting with guests that stopped in. The location is convenient to Valencia Street, which is known for its many restaurants. I was able to walk .5 mile to a Bart station to take the subway, and found the Lyft trip to/from the airport was well under a half hour. The area felt safe to walk around at night.

Ok, it is old but it should be a little convenient. The beds are too small for two. And when you get out it is important you have slippers on the carpet was really dirty! The breakfast was very nice, lots of fruits and pastry’s. The diningroom or foyer could be so special. It all needs a makeover!

I stayed in room 23 and it was lovely....next time think I will stay in Room 20 (a little smaller) but just as quaint. Lovely breakfast buffet -- and the staff is very welcoming. Parking available if needed - situated in an old victorian home in a lovely neighborhood.

Fantastic accommodation, with lots of character. Loved my stay here, and will be back if I make it to SF again. The lounge area is really quirky and comfortable, and all the staff are extremely friendly.

Our friend booked the Inn San Francisco and we followed suit and booked a room as well. It was wonderful! The rooms were quaint and romantic and the breakfast was outstanding! The staff was extremely pleasant and kind. Very helpful.

We had a great 5 night stay here. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room was just what we needed after walking miles round the city. Warm, deep bath and comfortable bed. Breakfast spread was excellent. Water, Tea and Coffee available all hours, along with Port and Sherry. Loved it.

The opulent beauty of the interiors in this 1872 Victorian mansion is matched by the friendliness of the staff, the lavish breakfast spread, and the beautiful fresh flowers that grace all the public spaces and the bedrooms as well. Candles in the parlors in the evening and early morning give the rooms additional ambiance. Everything is spotlessly clean and fresh, despite the historic nature of the manse and its furnishings.

I only stayed for a few hours due to a late check in and early check out, but they made it very easy for me to check in and check out. It was a very cozy stay with a warm and welcoming entrance, small but accommodating room, and excellent breakfast spread that was out earlier than I expected! I would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely loved the Victorian style decor and the warm and caring nature of the staff at the Inn. They serve breakfast from 7-11am and their quiches are absolutely devine! The only reason I rated the hotel a 4/5 was due to its location. It’s not in one of the safest areas of SF. Therefore, walking down the streets late at night is not recommended. I would highly recommend taking an Uber- (we used the public transport system once to travel to Powell Street but it was dirty and we didn’t feel very safe of comfortable.) We caught Ubers which was very cheap and easy to use to travel from place to place. The hotel also provides parking and it cost $30 a day to park your car. Overall we loved this hotel because it was so warm and cozy and it felt like a home away from home.

The Inn is very old, but very-well maintained. The rooms are unique, as is the breakfast spread. Very comfortable, anything you need, great location, highly recommended! Will be staying again. The Inn was built in the 1870s? I believe? Room 24 was great - had a nice bathtub, good views, comfortable bed, etc. Unique. Great rooftop with an awesome view too!
