My reservations were messed up but I will say the people at the Hotel were soooo nice and tried to rectify and gave me a discount. I think it was the on line reservations that made the mistakes. Supposed to have King bed, didn't. Then housekeeping removed all my belongings because they didn't know I was there for two night.
First time staying at this property, in fact first time in Redwood City. The staff at reception were excellent. Checkin & Checkout effortlessly performed and very efficient. A nice breakfast is served in a dedicated room next to reception. Very good laundry service at a very reasonable price. Housekeeping was excellent. Nothing missed, everything used was replaced. Plenty of towels and amenities. Most importantly excellent pillows and a very comfortable mattress. Extremely happy with my 5 nights stay!
A very convenient and pleasant hotel. Beds were really comfortable and the pillows were soft and good enough to sleep. I absolutely enjoyed the clean room I slept in, and the service was incredibly helpful! I've noticed that a few reviews are complaining about the street noise. For me, that was not an issue, and when I did make the check-in, I was worried about the noise. Obviously, El Camino Real is a really busy street in the entire state, but here my fears were unsubstantiated.
Unfortunate location next to an active train station, yes it was near the airport so there was airplane noise which was to be expected, but the pedestrian noise that accompanied the above was the worst. The hallways are outside and the sound of the suitcases being wheeled past the doors at all hours, all night was irritating. Sorry for the negative report, but for $300 night the place is a pit...a noisy pit.
My friend and I stayed for a night at Comfort Inn and had such a wonderful experience. The staff went over and beyond to be accommodating and the General Manager took time to help us with directions to where we wanted to go San Francisco Bay area!! The breakfast was excellent and had a great variety. The cleanliness of room was the best we have seen anywhere. We really just can't say enough great things about Comfort Inn!! We will be back again!!!
I had an item of great sentimental value that went missing from our room, and of course, housekeeping didn't know anything about it. The hotel is cold, and the sink and mirror aren't even in the bathroom. We're checking out early; I advise people not to stay here.
The ged was comfortable and I was well rested (as one can be on a business trip). WiFi was not good. It cut out frequently and made it impossible to stream even a half hour show without interruption. Breakfast choices were good for the hotel price...choices comparable to a Hampton. Downtown Redwood City doesn't have any decent dining choices. McDonalds was the best thing around, and it's right across the street.
My daughters and I stayed there part of one night, but we left before dawn after I was bitten several times by bedbugs. Called the front desk and they were apologetic, but offered no other assistance for us, as they had no other rooms to accommodate the three of us. So we were stuck trying to find a place to stay, which we eventually did after being without a hotel for about ten hours. The incident ruined my vacation, as I was intensely itching for the entire time. I emailed the corporate office, but I have not heard back.
Stayed one night on my interview for Stanford MD residency program and was devoured by bedbugs. Ended up in ED on steroids and had to get exterminated at house since they hitched a ride home! Spoke to Julia at desk who was rude and then promised to have manager call me and guess what? Never heard a word back. She told me "we don't have bed bugs- u must have gotten them from someone who stayed in the room". Wha????
So I have stayed here probably about 5 times in the last year and stayed on the third floor and overall thought it was quiet and clean and nice The third floor rooms have skylights so if light wakes you up don't stay on that floor . I have found this to be one of the most quiet places I have stayed at in a while . All the rooms are inside corridors This time : My room was on the second floor and the room was not clean and it looked like the whole place needed to be scrubbed . There were some small brown and red stains on the bed which did not make me happy The window sills were not cleaned The cable TV also appears to have been downgraded This is very different than I have seen in the past but you know these type .....money money money ! One of my favorite places to eat is right across the street . It's called Harry's Hofbroue . A redwood city legend There is a holiday inn express right next door and right across the street is Starbucks I may give it another try .....
