it's a no.

Everyone

Creepy, dark, old, dirty, smelly, you name it. The hotel is located in a dodgy area of SF, but there are actually a lot of same-priced hotels around and they look way better all in all.

poorly kept hotel in a bad neighborhood

Everyone

Immediately turned off by the stench of cigarettes and chlorine. Tried working with the hotel manager, Jesus, to change my reservation from two nights to one - I would have left anyways and just paid for one night. He claimed there "was nothing he could do" to help me and that he had forewarned me about the small room so it was all on me. Bathrooms were shared and unclean. Would never recommend.

very good price in the heart of tenderloin

Everyone

The pricing was quite good for the time of the week and where we needed to go. The staff were friendly and everything seemed clean and well taken care of. There was also very convenient parking at a reasonable price no more than 50 feet from the hotel itself. The bed was a bit stiff, which I didn't mind, but the person who was with me did not enjoy it as much. The only downside is that the room we got was quite noisy (not a surprise given where we were and all, so it was to be expected), and there was only one pair of outlets for power. We unplugged the tv with no hesitation, but then we had to choose if we wanted to have the mini fridge plugged in or not in order to charge our own electronics. Overall, not a bad experience, I just wish there was another outlet in the room, and that the bed was a bit more comfy.

in one of the roughest areas of the city

Everyone

The hotel is located near tenderloin neighborhood, which is one of the roughest areas within downtown SF. Lots of homeless and not the most ideal scene for walking around late at night.

not a good experience

Everyone

When we arrived we were told that someone extended their stay, so we couldn't have the room we booked, but would get it the next morning. The next morning we were told they were overbooked and we couldn't have our room. The room we got put in didn't have a bathroom or mirrors. The hotel staff was not apologetic at all and wouldn't let us out of our reservation and it was a big mess.

Hello, We are sorry to hear about this. This hotel is newly renovated with television, beds, chairs, tables etc. However, we are located we are located in a downtown neighborhood which can be loud because of the city life. We do understand that this might not have been a place for you. We would love to hear back from you and give us another chance.

not a bad hotel in a bad area

Business

The area around the hotel is really bad especially at night. I don't think anyone will hurt you but it's a rough crowd full of vagrants and drug users. Loud yelling and poor windows make for lots of city noise. The city noises is compounded by the large amount of drug uses screaming all hours through the night. No heater. Bed was on wheels and kept moving around.

not a good first impression

Everyone

If you're looking to stay in the city, this is not the ideal place. The hotel is located in one of the worst neighborhoods in all of San Francisco. It's more a hostel than a hotel, and the conditions are less than ideal. Not only were there bugs, but the place was very loud because of the outside noise and the tenants inside. There are communal bathrooms and showers. There is also a large number of transients that roam outside. Overall I would not recommend this place for anyone who is looking to stay in San Francisco.

We need you credit card because of incidents and to verify your identity. Every "legit" hotel does that.

american horror story, hotel sf

Everyone

First room we got the window was missing its lock, and after walking through pimps, hoes, and drug dealers outside I wasn't feeling that safe already. The second room we got was secure, but the entire floor smelled like cigarettes. All night i heared people coming in and out, but i never saw anyone; cats meow and run through the halls at night; the fan and light switch on/off mysteriously; the bed sunk in them middle - just waiting for Freddy Krueger to grab you. Front desk always had a :)

Our hotel does not smell like cigarettes because we are a smoke free hotel. There is absolutely not smoking or else you'll be fined. Finally, animals are not allowed either. Thank you for noticing our staff service. We need to clarify that we are very secure, we have an amazing 24/7security system.

worst hotel that i ever stayed

Everyone

The staff is polite and good. The rooms look clean. However, 1) There are bed bugs. One of my hands got 8 red spots (being bit by bugs) even just after one night of stay! After coming back home, I am so afraid that I may bring some bed bugs home. 2) Maybe we are unlucky, our neighbors fought terribly at midnight in the hallway. We were scared to death. Fortunately, the staff allowed us to move out after the horrible night with fighting neighbors. 3) There are so many homeless people around the neighborhood.

This is not accurate...we do not have bedbugs at our hotel. We have weekly checks by pest control company to check and stray down for any trace of bugs. Those bug bite you claimed to be from our hotel might simply be from your plane ride or public arenas. The room stays but you travel. There are more chances they you caught these bites from your travel. Adding on, you might just be confusing mosquito bites with bed bug.
