The Lafayette Hotel was opened in 1946. It is a charming Hotel and well kept up to today's standards. At no extra cost, they upgraded us to a suite which was lovely. It was very quiet. I will stay here again when I return.

was a amazing stay staff was awesome food was great.. only issue was my neighbor who slammed the door every hour through the night....

The rooms are always well kept and clean and staff were friendly and fast. The pool was refreshing during a hot day, but I was disappointed by the allowance of large groups of 15-20 people in the pool area. At check in, staff said only guests were being permitted at the pool, however there were a lot of people without guest bracelets that didn’t go checked until 6pm, and even then didn’t leave.

I always like staying at the Lafayette for staycations with friends. Great pool, restaurant, and bar. Plus, proximity to options around time is either a short walk or drive away.

Nonexistent customer service, poor communication, and $5.50 for water to make coffee.

The location and space was nice. The property is a bit old and the rooms could use updating

The lobby and public areas were really nicely designed. The restaurant also looked cute. But the rooms were a bit of a disappointment. The bathrooms are in need of a refresh, at least in the room we had. Staff wasn't helpful when an alarm went off in the middle of the night.

Cool place, excellent pool and restaurant on premise. The rooms are pretty dated. The poolside ones looked more updated.

It was very cute and a hip, safe neighborhood. Staff was very nice and rooms very clean, though out-dated.

The carpet in the hall has an odor. Very dated. The restaurant was overpriced. There of several restaurants within walking distance. The place has a cool vibe overall.

Loved the atmosphere they have created. We stayed 4 nights and it was like a step back in time with the look and sounds making most of the stay wonderful. That said, I was shocked to discover there were no ice or vending machines. There was no pretense of an included breakfast, and the room didn't have a fridge or microwave. The things we needed were available with room service, but it was still disappointing to not be able to keep any leftovers cold, or warm up anything. The restaurant was wonderful, and the Red Fox was gorgeous inside. The weekend cleaning crew was not nearly up to par. But honestly, my couple "complaints" were not enough to make me give a bad review as the hotel is such a wonderful step back in time.

The staff was great. John met all our needs. The pool was more of an adult atmosphere during the day. Over all great experience.

Absolutely beautiful building that transports you back in time. LOVE the unique layout of this hotel, and the pool is great and very central. Entrance area is spacious and has a charming old word feel mixed with relaxing California vibes, very nice. Our room was large but a bit sparsely furnished - a second nightstand and two cozy armchairs would have been nice as only one wooden rocker was provided which I thought was not enough. Plenty of storage off the bathroom but the sliding doors were old and edgy. Bathroom was updated and ok. Please be aware that this hotel can be noisy on the weekends. There was not a single day/evening without a birthday, wedding event, or bachelorette party going on, and since they take place around the pool, things get loud and a bit crowded. Maybe not ideal when traveling with children, especially small ones (there was drinking around the pool), or if you are looking for a quiet getaway with your loved one. Staff was great and super friendly. I once had to call when a party next to my room got a bit too loud too late, and they immediately took care of it.

The staff was excellent and I appreciate how kind and helpful they were. At one point I asked for extra coffee and the room service staff delivered :D Thanks for making my stay so memorable.
