The facilities are very dated including the furniture and carpeting. The area is very loud-- I was awoken a 3 am by people returning from a night of partying. I would not stay there again.

The rooftop patio is amazing! I did not discover it until my last night, so maybe the staff should emphasize it a little when you check in? Room was comfy and large for the area. Good value for a nice location.

STAFF WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL. GREAT LOCATION. LIKED THE INDIVIDUAL ROOMS.

Adjacent restaurant (Brian’s 24) was nice hot water took a long time to come on. I found a hair on my bed the first night there.

Did not know about valet parking which is the only way to park

The property was clean, and it was kind of neat to learn the history of the building. The downside is that nothing in the building seems to have changed much since 1912-1913, when it was built. The room was claustrophobic. There was a desk that had no chair (not enough room for one anyway), a safe that failed on us after one use, and for someone attending an IT conference, there wasn't much in the way of adequate power in the room. Positive: The bed was comfortable; the room was clean; neat history of the building Negative: Room was small; no room to work; shower stall was so small you had to turn the water off to lather; Sink didn't drain properly; safe quit working after one use; extra fees to get a fridge or microwave, although there wouldn't have really been anywhere to put it.

Great historic building in a fantastic area, with lots of history on the old hotel that you can read up on. Unfortunately, while the lobby retains the grand feeling of the past, the rooms are small and mediocre. You'll immediately feel a bit concerned because the rooms have documents advising you to use all locks and secure valuables, although the hotel and location both felt quite safe. No question about it - you are paying only for the location of this hotel. The quality is what you would expect for a hotel of this price in gaslamp. Shower didn't drain at all, so by the end you were standing in 3 inches of water. Other than that, it was a fine room.

Helpful staff. Excellent restaurant next door. Good location for downtown events. Clean and comfortable room.

Old and run down. Needs a refresh to make it more appealing.

Very nice place to stay in for the price. As long as you dont spend the weekend there when it gets too expensive for what it is. Clean, comfortable and classic . I like it and will be back

The staff was nice and the hotel was walking distance to places. The rooms were very out dated and were dirty I got an allergic reaction and rash on my body from sleeping there. There was trash underneath the bed and a bra that was left there previously which means the room was not properly cleaned before.

It was very old hotel and the room stuff was very old, however hotel location is very good and employees are very nice and helpful

Great location, friendly staff. Bedroom carpets need to be changed

Good for one night nothing past that though it’s loud the elevators are old school and dangerous. No parking for guest you have to pay valet.

I did not have wash cloth two out of 3 days and the room was very small. The window leaked a lot of air and noise from the very noisy street.

Beautiful, old and quaint hotel. Location to the conference center was perfect. Very friendly staff. My only concern was the noise from outside throughout the night. I even wore earplugs! I was on the first floor right above the hotel entrance.
