Great location and view of beach from room patio. Room was roomy, clean and comfortable. Our room had kitchenette but not stocked at all. Walls are thin and neighbors were loud multiple late nights.
Well appointed, clean rooms. Easy access to Dog Beach. Walking distance to downtown OB. Was surprised by the $30 pet fee.
I really liked that the rooms have a nice size mini fridge and microwave. The hotel even has a guest laundry room that was super convenient.
Transients camped 30 feet from our balcony cursing loudly and harassing passerbys.

Loved the location! On the beach close to Pier. Was able to walk to breakfast and quick to train station to get down town. Old building, but clean. Only bad part was the beds were hard. Plastic pillows and thin blankets. We picked this place for location and it differently delivered on that!
The beach access gate was close to my room, so i could walk barefoot to the beach and all the way to the pier and back in OB. I also liked my room #48 had nice ocean and bay views from my balcony and no dog or smoke smells in my room, if I had issues with noisy rooms next to me the office was quick to stop the problem. They let me park the bike inside the office at night that was loaned to me so it wouldn’t get stolen. Very nice people I worked with.

First, the positive. This is a dog hotel and set up very well for that. It is located adjacent to a public beach and park area with lawns and an off-leash dog beach. The rooms are basic and the floor tile, which allows effective cleaning. You have to ask for maid service and have your dog(s) out of the room. The bedding is basic, probably because management realizes that many will sleep with their dogs on their beds. The towels are of good quality and there are extras on request. The room is heated/cooled by a window A/C through the wall. Our room had a mini-fridge and microwave. The room rate is very reasonable given the beachside location. Many of the first floor rooms open through a large sliding door to a fenced outdoor strip of land shared by those rooms, like a narrow backyard, so you can let your dog out to take care of biology needs. There are lots of bags and wastebaskets for clean-up. The area is covered in astroturf. It appears that management tries to keep the astroturf clean, but I imagine that is an uphill battle, especially when there are guests who are not conscientious in cleaning up after their dogs. On the less positive side, the beds and pillows were not super comfortable. And the wifi was terrible in my room. Management claimed it worked but it didn't. Maybe other rooms are better. You may want to check the wifi of the room you're assigned and ask for another room if it's no good. Overall, a good value for basic accommodations & super pet friendly.

I loved our view on the 2nd fl, my daughters patio on the 1st floor was so dirty I had to clean chairs to sit on them. Linens were disappointing as well.

The ocean villa inn is right next to the beach which is nice and the cleaning staff was very good. The only thing I didn’t like was it was a little noisy at night with the beach parking lot
Property is a bit dated, but the location next to the Ocean Beach dog park/beach is awesome. Ocean Beach is experiencing a bit of a homeless problem, but that is certainly not the hotels fault. Hotel staff is super friendly and helpful. We will be back.
Amazing location and balcony. A little noisy in the morning due to the dogs and planes.
The property is old and run down. Trying to sit on the patio was not pleasant at all with the homeless man peeing in front of our room, all the dog crap that was all over and then we had a very unpleasant visitor (snake) on our patio.
We had to change rooms which was a hassle but were compensated for the inconvenience. Very dated rooms in bad need of renovations but being on the dog beach allowed our dogs maximum fun which helped overcome the suboptimal accommodations.
