The rooms were very nice and clean. I was a little afraid of noise but it was so quiet. The pool was great! I loved how they brought breakfast in a basket to your room door so it made it easy to eat out by the pool or on the roof deck. Customer service was excellent. We had a few requests and they were able to accommodate. I also forgot some very sentimental items and they were nice enough to inform me that they would ship them to me!
This is terrific place. It is very clean and the room we stayed in was very large. It had two double beds with a nice in room full bathroom. There is even a rooftop deck which is beautiful at night. The breakfast is delivered to your room and is very nice. This was a wonderful and very affordable alternative to the typical cookie cutter hotel. I highly recommend it!
We really enjoy Bonner Gardens! The house is neat and a bit quirky, the rooms are nicely appointed, and the breakfast is wonderful! Terin and staff were wonderful inn keepers! Also, the location could not be better. Within miles of some of the best eats and shopping in SA!
We recently stayed in the downstairs "Bayou Bartholomew" room of the Bonner Gardens B&B. This particular room features a private entrance, which is a plus, and has ready access to the pool. I enjoyed taking a morning swim before breakfast, and spending a bit of time lounging poolside. The pool is impressive and definitely large enough to swim laps. The room itself was quite nice, and the bed was quite comfortable. Being an older home, there are not many outlets. Also, the Bayou Bartholomew room features a tile floor with a small pattern, meaning keeping it really clean is a bit of a challenge. Breakfast was set outside the room in a picnic basket. Great concept, but the drawback is that you can't go back for seconds. Still, I enjoyed it. The reason for the four stars instead of five was that when my wife took a shower in the morning, there was very little hot water. By the time I took a shower, there was plenty. Do yourself a favor and go up to the rooftop at night and take in the view of downtown. Finally, parking... there is limited parking in the driveway, but plenty in front of the property on the street.
Stayed two days in this tranquil setting. Short drive to downtown and the River Walk.Breakfast picnic basket delivered to your room.Staff very easy to work with and accommdating. Would stay here again. Beautiful private retreat outside to relax and read a book.
This house and our room exceeded all expectations. It was a great location, the room was lovely - great attention to detail. The rooftop view is incredible and I only wish it had been slightly warmer so that we could've enjoyed the pool. The breakfast basket was perfect. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
My sister-in-law arranged two rooms at Bonner Gardens for her wedding. Somehow we ended up in two different buildings across the street from each other. Our room was in the main building and we were less than impressed. Our bedroom on the 2nd floor was cool and drafty. The only heater available was in the bathroom. It did manage to eventually warm the entire space, but at the cost of making the bathroom very hot. The shower in the bathroom had very little hot water pressure and did not make for an enjoyable shower. A sign on the refrigerator in the kitchen advised us to help ourselves to bottled water and juices. The problem with that was there was no bottled water and the only juice available was a large half empty container of orange juice that didn’t have a top on it. Ugh! We won’t be back.
Bonner Gardens is a wonderful B&B. The staff are so helpful and always upbeat. The stately home is beautifully yet comfortably decorated both inside and out with a mix of old and modern. So many thoughtful touches. It is luxurious in that you feel pampered, but also homey. I had a complicated schedule over several weeks and Terin worked with me tirelessly to accommodate my calendar, including several changes. (Note: I also stayed at their O’Casey’s Boutique Inn property and am posting this same review there.)
We had to travel to San Antonio suddenly for a medical issue with our son. We had stayed at Bonner Gardens/O'Casey's B&B once before. Terin helped arrange and coordinate our stay aat very short notice at both locations over 7 days by finding open rooms for us, moving our luggage, and making sure our hosts were aware of our preferences. Great location for our needs and very accommodating. The meals were tasty and convenient. The rooms were comfortable and nicely decorated. Can't say enough about Terin and Sarah.
Charming Bed and Breakfast in a wonderful neighborhood. Our son is a freshman at Trinity and we will be back. Loved the breakfast hamper delivered with coffee, fruit, smoked salmon and toast. Self check in was easy and efficient. The pool is lovely.
